Atlanta Housing Market Conditions
Record-high mortgage rates are slowing the Atlanta housing market, with a decline in existing and new construction home sales. As a result, builders are responding aggressively and putting the breaks on new construction projects. As you move closer to Atlanta Metro's urban center, however, the market remains resilient and is not experiencing the same negative effects that the suburbs have seen.
Although Atlanta builders have reigned in new construction starts, there has been no lack of work throughout the construction industry. Builders are still working through backlogs, and the metro area benefits from continued job and population growth. Even so, experts warn of wide-ranging negative impacts on the economy in 2023 due to housing declines.
For now, plenty of new homes for sale in Allentown still remain.
