However, the establishment of New Braunfels is quite a legend. When the Germans were travelling inland for settlement, it was realised that they couldn’t make it before winter and thus, Prince Carl of Solms-Braunfels bought some land by the Comal Springs in around 1845. He named the place after his hometown.
The city was balmy summers, and pleasant winters have no dearth of employment as well as educational facilities, and neither is there any less opportunity for recreation. Being located along the Balcones Fault where Texas Hill Country meets the rolling prairie, New Braunfels is near to the artesian Comal Springs and river which are meant for a quiet little boat trip. The city also has the Schlitterbahn WaterPark Resort the best one in the world according to many.
