Beazer Duets in The Highlands
- Julie C.

We purchased a Beazer Duet in The Highlands and closed in May 2023. The sales representative, Pam, has been absolutely fantastic both before and AFTER the sale! Can't say enough wonderful things about her - she is an asset to Beazer! We purchased an inventory townhome and had no input in its design. We noted several issues in our final walk-thru prior to closing. Then noticed several more issues after closing. The tankless water heater made a very loud noise every time the hot water was turned on. After half a dozen reports with a plumber coming out each time, the tankless water ...

We love the floor plan and layout. The construction process was not what we expected. The process was frustrating to say tue least. The project was managed by absentee project managers, could not complete the home on multiple close dates, moved 4 times due to not being able to keep the home in schedule and having to re do items over and over. I understand todays issues, trade inexperience , material issues and shortages etc. however the supervision of the homes is lacking horribly at the very least, without picking on every item and every issue needs to he addressed, and not to mention ...

Unfortunately, the sales representative has been unreachable since signing the contract, leading to difficulties in the delivery of keys after the closing process. Additionally, they misplaced my mailbox keys, resulting in a delay of three to five days to obtain a replacement key despite numerous efforts and phone calls. The poor quality of workmanship by their contractor further added to the challenges. However, I must commend Construction Manager John for his exceptional humility and responsiveness. Charlie and Leslie were very helpful with final walkthroughs. My double ovens went out completely within one week of moving in and one door of the refrigerator (also part of this home sale) is defective causing the seal to come off (also within one week of move in). Leslie has tried to help, but Beazer is uninterested in replacing these in a brand new home. It’s now been 7 weeks. Very disappointed.

The construction process was completed in fairly good tine with good communication throughout. However, the sales team is not aware of all details which result in surprises later on. If anything from the design studio turned out different, you have yo fight to get that addressed. If beazer provides a workaround, no compensation or discount is offered. Team is good, but can do with a lot more transparency.

Up until closing our experience was great but since moving in (4/2023) has been less than great. Appears to be a little problem with quality control. Door knobs were loose and falling off, one of the trees in the front yard has died, sod is slow to green up and has a lot of weeds, the HVAC air filter door won't stay shut, has to be taped, and the laundry room door won't latch. These are fairly small items but we expected better. Warranty response is slow, blaming COVID even though that is over.

There were significant construction delays in the building process. This was not due to COVID as other builders had much faster progress and turn around times. Several items were installed incorrectly, and I had to make weekly visits to monitor progress and point out items that needed to be fixed that were missed by the construction manager. The end result is very nice; however, it took a lot of work and pressing with the construction manager to take my concerns seriously and fix what needed to be fixed.

While doing our walk throughs we noted numerous items that had to be handled over 2-3 walk-throughs. The local team working with us did a great job and worked with us even though it took more than one walk through. On the final review, the VP attended and made it very clear we were, in his estimation, taking advantage of the process. This was our 5th new home so we thought we knew what to expect. Sales process was about as smooth as I expected. The home was very slow to start but we understood some of the labor and supply chain challenges. Once under construction we felt the attention to detail was definitely lacking. I'm sure some of the rework cost Beazer more than it needed to. The amount of damage created by the trades while finishing was at the highest level I have ever experienced. Our experience was one of zero negotiation. We found a home we fell in love with and it was the last home available in Phase 2 of Jasmine Point. Our home was the Holly model and already built. Upon doing the final blue tape walk through, our real-estate agent found a list of minor fixes that were to be completed before we closed. The actual purchase and closing went fine. Super easy. Once we moved in, we ran into a big issue with our HVAC and blower motor in the attic. It was installed backwards which caused the thermostat on our dryer to blow out. Our HVAC was a manufacturer issue but should have been caught by Airtron.
