Beautiful home, no negotiation or bonuses

Our experience was one of zero negotiation. We found a home we fell in love with and it was the last home available in Phase 2 of Jasmine Point. Our home was the Holly model and already built. Upon doing the final blue tape walk through, our real-estate agent found a list of minor fixes that were to be completed before we closed. Now I would like to mention the fact that our closing date was rushed and pushed. We are a military family and were moving here to South Carolina for a permanent duty station change. It was our desire to push the closing date out to accommodate a reporting date, ...

Our overall experience was good but we did have delays in closing and there were some things that weren't completed on the final walk through. they told us that it would be completed but when we called back to follow up we were told that it would be handled under warranty, which is not what they said on closing day. it took several weeks to get it fixed so I feel like I was getting the runaround. In the future, I would not go to closing until all the punch items were fixed.
Beazer Homes responded:
Thank you for this bit of feedback. We're sorry to hear that you had some delays in closing, but are thrilled to know that your local Beazer team was able to get your home in tip top shape. We hope your are enjoying your new community. - Roland

Great Home / Poor Building Process

We love our home but the building process lacked timely/detailed updates, timeline, and customer service. Mike M. (our designated salesperson) was not very helpful and lacked the customer experience during the process. However, Stephanie Hassell was very informative during the process especially since she was not our delegated sales rep. She went above and beyond just due to her kind nature and personality.
Beazer Homes responded:
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We're sorry to hear that your experience with your sales representative was less than desirable, however, we are thrilled to know that Stephanie was able to assist you and meet your needs. We will be sure to pass along your kind words and share your feedback to help build a better team. Great House - Awful Experience and Communication
- Anonymous
- Verified HomeBuyer
- May 17, 2022
- Summerville, SC
The house is great quality built with great materials. Beazer outsources all their work to local/regional trades so the quality is fantastic. The actual Beazer team is where we hit all the issues. The communication was awful throughout the building process, we often received false updates and our house was delayed 4 months. They are unwilling to push or try to pivot anything. They just say "This is the way it is now". Other family members of mine have used other builders during this same time and they all were completed on-time or early because beazers competitors made pivots.
Beazer Homes responded:
Thank you for this review. Beazer Homes values all feedback from our homeowners. This information will help us to better shape our team going forward. While we are sorry to hear that your experience with your warranty team has been less than desirable, we are thrilled to see that you have been satisfied with the quality of the products used in your home. Hurry up and wait.

This was our first home-building experience which made my husband and I extremely excited about the opportunity. Also, extremely nervous as we didn’t know what to expect. It was April of 2021 when we decided to sign up for this adventure. And what an adventure indeed. Everything was "hurry up decide" only to make us wait. This should have been our red flag and should have walked away. Unfortunately, because of the housing market, we didn’t have too many options. We were told on Saturday to hurry and decide by Monday if we wanted to buy the house, or we would have to pay a higher price for ...
Beazer Homes responded:
Esmeralda, thank you so much for sharing this review with us. While we anticipate that we are able to stick to the estimated timeframes quoted at the initial sale, we do sometimes need to make adjustments based off of a number of factors such as supply chain or weather delays. We are sorry to hear that your experience was not ideal, but we are over the moon to see that your new home has been everything you'd hoped it would be. Beazer prides itself on having the quality of construction that not every builder can claim. I feel the house is qualm. However, the sales experience was terrible. Mistakes in the design of my build causes an over 3 month delay. Also, had a sales person tell me I could walk away, this was after waiting over 5 months.

I've been in my home for almost 4 month now. There are still things that have not been fixed, and emails go unanswered, promises made to come by with no show, or call, or email. Super disappointing. Buyer beware.

Disappointed with some of the choices taken. Bought a spec home, so we didn't go through the build process with Beazer - but it's clear that the quality of materials and workmanship is basic at best. - Laminate flooring that is fine - except how unlevel it is. - Certain tile and countertop selections that are impossible to keep clean (cheap?). - Doors that are so lightweight that every time the AC shuts off, they vibrate. - A really cool microwave that is built into the cabinets of the island ... except its just the cheap one that has a swing open door - not a drawer ... so you have ...

Multiple delays in closing for 6 months and still the house isn't completely finished, 2 months after closing. Time will tell if this house was worth the hassle of a new build because I think I got the "rustic" style home with exposed nails, trim that doesn't line up, and splintered ends. Not a good experience.

Delayed process, poor communication, been in home for over a month and there are still repairs that they have not Come back to fix (after telling us they would during final walk through). Can’t trust anything anyone says. So much work falls on you as the home buyer, to hold these people accountable. Doesn’t help having company turnover throughout the process...should’ve known to back out when employees of Beazer were leaving.
Beazer Homes responded:
We can imagine that the delays you've experienced must be upsetting and we want to assure you this is not the experience we strive to provide our homeowners. Worst Buying Experience Ever

Probably one of the worst experiences I have had buying a home. When I inquired on a Friday about purchasing a new build home, I was informed there were no lots in the first phase that would accommodate the house I wanted, but that they would be opening the second phase soon. Surprisingly the next Monday I was told that lots had opened up in Phase 2! The lot I was interested, well, someone else had expressed interest in it to so I needed to hurry. I signed a contract on Tuesday, March 18th and was told construction would start in May and the house would be ready in October. May comes around ...

Not happy with Beazer Homes!

I like my home, but the problem is that my car was damaged by a Beezer subcontractor and Beazer has made no effort to rectify the situation. The repair cost is minimal to the car, it's the principal that Beazer does not accept responsibility for it's subcontractors. Considering this I do not encourage anyone to buy a Beazer home.

We were told we had a contract on one of their homes. On the drive back to the state we live in still was told we had the contract. Get home five hours later and told her we lost the home. Pick a new home explained how we needed to move quickly because we thought we were getting the other home and our current home had sold. They said we would close within two weeks it was a month! This was our worst experience ever purchasing a home and we have done this 11 times.
