Very poor quality workmanship. Seems to be a crew of day laborers changing weekly. Inferior wood trim, drywall finishing, door hanging, finish work.and on and on. Have called many things in to fix already, and more to come. Sound proofing is non existent, you can hear from one end of the home to the other. This home is on par of a Walmart purchase. And I bought two units, having similar issues in both. I thought with the Beazer name and paying over 200k I would have a decent product. I bought the home from out of state and was not able to check on building progress. I don't know how some of ...

The agent and walkthroughs with the Building Manager were very good and welcoming, but after the closing they don't seem to care about you as much. For example, following up on open items or new issues is not their priority, and then you get handed off to other people. And the Mortgage Cos. they refer you to for discounts on mortgage were difficult to work with. The one we selected not only required lots of repetitive documents and the office staff don't appear to communicate with each other. For ex., the Officer in Charge would say one thing, and the lending staff would require something ...

The right decision

We love our new home. It was the right decision to build since we were living 800 miles away and we were unable to view new homes as they came on the market. However, we do have a few comments about the process. We feel that we the final stretch to finish and close on the house was rushed. We had plenty of time to make sure that everything was complete and done right, but because the builder wanted to close by a certain date, the final product showed a lack of attention to detail. Areas of Paint, trimwork and grout showed sloopy craftmenship. There were two very visable broken cabinets that ...

As with any new home, some building glitches will occur. So far, Beazer has gotten right on setting them right and hope they continue to do so during the warantee period.

Not willing to correct their fault. In building my house. A company this large won’t consider a Attic ladder.

The second Beazer home I have purchased. I should have quit after the first. AC does not work when it's hot and heat does not work when it's cold. Drawers in bathroom vanity won't shut properly and landscaping was not done properly. My wife and I have called so many times I have listed the contact simply as complain again.
Beazer Homes responded:
Thank you for your feedback. We would like to apologize for any issues you have experienced. We show the only concern reported to us was a bathroom cabinet issue that was resolved in November of 2018. We would love to assist you with the heating and cooling issues you mentioned as well as the landscaping. Please give the New Home Contact Center at 888-623-2937 so we may look into those for you. Purchased a spec home thinking it would be built sound but slowly found issues that could have been corrected during the building process. We still sit here with a brand new house that still requires repairs.

Be careful with "quick move-ins"

For the most part I am not unhappy with my new home. I like the floorplan and the neighorhood. However as it is what was listed as a "quick move-in" , and what the builder referred to in a derogatory tone as a "spec home" there are some unfortunate deficiencies. Most glaring is the lack of gutters. I have never seen a house without gutters however I was informed that they aren't required and I would have to add them myself. The tub in the guest bathroom is the smallest and at my best guess the cheapest they could find. It looks deep enough until you step in it and then you realize it ...

The purchase was easy given that we relied on our realtor to watch over the build. Our builder rep (Jenny) was great. We love our home, but there are many imperfections that need to be fixed including crooked walls (non-structural), rough spots, sliding door not working, gouges, bumps, and cabinet door alignment. I suppose there are imperfections with all builders, but it was disheartening to see a couple crooked wall edges. Anyway, we were promised that all issues will be fixed in a year when they come to primp the finish work. I understand they are hiring a new builder.

The whole purchasing process was great. We had the chance to see our new home built since we lived nearby. After we moved in we had a major problem with flying bugs like gnats. We received little help from the builder. We had to go online and fix the problem ourselves. We also had a defective water heater that was replaced 3 weeks after we moved in. Now that we are here about 7 weeks, we are finally able to enjoy living here without contractors coming to fix something.

There were some issues left over from closing that have still not been resolved. This is spoiling my overall experience with Beazer which to date was 5star. The warranty call folks are very nice but from there it falls flat. The hand over from the builder to the warranty person has been poor.
