Beazer Homes - The process of buying was very pleasant and exciting.
- Gary W.
- Verified HomeBuyer
- August 10, 2021
- Hendersonville, TN
The process of buying was very pleasant and exciting. The complacency and lack/slowness of action on significant warranty issues has greatly tempered that excitement. The building has been "completed for almost a year now, and still dealing with significant problems with security system, exterior lighting, and rain water leakage (leakage may have been fixed last week, waiting for next rain to confirm).

When we signed the contract, we were told we had to move quickly through design and then the new home kick-off. After our design appointment, it was almost one month before we had the initial home project kick-off. Project updates weren't as frequent as we expected. Our realtor had to reach out on a couple of occasions to get a status update. We found out there was an issue with our plot being filed incorrectly. Beazer was very apologetic and worked with us on how to correct this issue. We may have decided on another home if we knew that the walls are insulated for efficiency but not ...

Love my home, but it does feel like a constant battle with the Warranty process. After you submit and you have to constantly prove what's wrong for them to come back and just say no. Then when you get a no, they tell you how to fix it that costs the buyer extra money. I would look at how you can make the Warranty process simple especially when you are building homes around someone's finished home.
Beazer Homes responded:
We are happy to hear you love your home, Reginald. We are sorry for any frustration you feel with the warranty process and want to let you know we are always here to help. If you ever have questions about submitting a case or have questions about a current case, our New Home Contact Center is always happy to discuss these with you. Should have been told upfront that garages were too small to be able to fully open a car door once parked inside. No garage should be built that narrow.

I love our house now but the only reason that I would have rate it perfect or great is they should have been more open on "what the homeowners want" . I hate to hear from a builder "Oh sorry we can not do that!" . Some features was not offered to us, which I like to have and it was informed to us that we could, like "vaulted ceiling". Simple features they can't add like pot filler which I like to have and central vacuum. Placements of additional cable/power wires for your TV should have been on the deciion making before dry walling so you really know where to place it and not before ...

The initial buying process was great. The design center was great. However, when it came to the finishing touches on our home, many things were overlooked. My husband and I emailed about several issues we wanted fixed. Which they attempted to fix for us before closing and we were pleased with at the time. But, now after living here a month, realized some of their “fixes” were just bandaids. Paint is chipping off, low spots in the floors, and tile work that was hastily installed. Overall the home is still very pretty, we were just disappointed in the hasty work that was done in the last week ...

We have issues with our sod has been ruined by a trade partner, and we are waiting on someone to tell us when it will be fixed. We had multiple issues trying to prepare for closing, and our dates were moved, after being told they would not move and were set in stone. The house is lovely, though I felt in the sales process they were not as transparent as they should have been. I had a few items I made clear were important to me and I was told they would be easily met only to find out it was known that wasn't possible or guaranteed. For the most part the sales process was seamless. After living in the house a while it feels a few things were rushed or shortcuts taken. Windows not quite at 90 degree angles that made blinds tricky. Baseboard separating from the wall and waiting still on someone to come fix it. Plumbing not put in right. They sod the front but ...

I am very thankful for the home in a safe community with good neighbors. The heat unit didn’t work fully for the first two weeks. It is still an ongoing problem with my upstairs unit reading 10 degrees hotter. When I asked the company about the issue the only response I got was, heat rises. Yes I understand heat rises, but for a gas unit it should only be about 3 to 5 degrees, not 10. The HOA manager is non compassionate towards individuals. She tried to compare me wanting the safety of my pets to someone wanting to change out their door or add onto their patio. The drywall is cheap, I can ...

Beazer has very streamlined process. There is nothing much to add considering their magnitude of projects. The main question is the value to your money. It might be very attactive with initial lower costs, but they quickly add up in their upgrades and crazy lot premium costs. Considering the lot sizes they have and the house plans it doesn't make sense to me. They have in built some or almost un noticeable cost cuttings or cheap materials unless you live in the house. I was originally soooo excited to move - talked with a sales agent on two different occasions that I would get to design the home and that the backyard would be 20’ by 20’…fast forward to walk though and there were many issues including the fact that they were now telling me the backyard would only be 20’ by 14’ which is a massive difference. Lipstick on a pig. It looks pretty, however they use cheap subcontractors that do the job quick but not with good quality. I have many things breaking inside the home within 30 days of living. They will reassure you that you have a warranty, but don't be fooled because they send 1 guy to do a 2 person job, with multiple trips, who will damage and ding up the rest of your stuff while fixing what was originally broken. I dont have trust in the home quality.

My experience has been relatively disappointing throughout. Started off with a $8,000 Closing Credit that changed overnight to $5,000 when allowed to sign. Builder assured/promised the HOA wasn’t going to raise fees (they jacked up the fees right after closing with their preferred HOA company that makes money off of the owners of the homes.) Their vendors screwed up the shower, I still don’t have mirrors two months after closing. The quality of craftsmanship and effort putting these homes is poor. Our house was $900,000 to build and the cement on our back patio AND in our garage started crumbling before we even moved in. Tile work was poorly done and had to be torn out and replaced. The grout is unevenly spaced and for a bathroom that is all gray they put in brown grout which doesn’t make sense. We have been through two construction managers already in the past nine months. I would not recommend Beazer to anybody.

Overall, a bad experience. Would ask our sales contact questions on status of home build and they would either ignore our questions or push us off to another contact who would not respond in a timely manner. If there were updates on the home, it was about a week late, as we would drive by the home ourselves and see the updates first hand. While we love our new home, the entire experience was diminished by not being able to construct a fence. Before contracting, we asked about fencing our yard as this was one of our top priorities when choosing a lot and a builder. We were ensured this would not be a problem.
