Sales person lies and uses selective language to help lock you into a contract. During the construction the lies won’t stop even if you present evidence to the staff. The quality of work needs much more supervision from the project manager. From broken tiles to areas where grout is was missing by to areas where tape and beading is is flaking to areas not taped. Glass shower enclosure glass was loose and scullion wasn’t applied yet project manager presumes this is how it should be.

These homes are quality

Of course we went under contract during challenging times so it took a little longer but Bloomfield has a price guarantee saw a price was locked in and we never had to worry about increases due to materials. Delays were minimum. Communication with a project manager was outstanding and still is. I would build another home with Bloomfield if I could have the same project manager.

Overall the building processed lacked communication. Very slow to respond to serious questions. However, home did come out very nice. Now that we have a few warranty issues the lack of communication and follow up seems disorganized and or non-existent.

We bought our home, it did not appraise and we weren’t told until the 11th hour of the sale. We have outstanding issues with the fire place that we can’t get resolved in the coldest months of the year.

We decided to build with Bloomfield based off of reviews from family friends and quality of the home. However, we did not have the greatest experience in our buying process due to an overwhelming lack of communication. This was not our first build, so we knew what to expect. We understood that during this time, supply chain issues, COVID restrictions and more would delay our completion. But we didn’t anticipate that we’d spend weeks without a reply to an email/phone call or an update. We didn’t expect they’d change construction manager without letting us know. We didn’t expect that we’d pay for uplights and they not be installed. We didn’t expect that we currently have a metal garage door instead of cedar door we paid for with no follow ups. This is just to name a few. Throughout the process, we struggled to get answers, information and updates unless we drove by the home ourselves more than we already were. Our final construction manager, Matt K, was communicative, understanding and professional. Unfortunately, by this point, our confidence and trust in Bloomfield had already been shattered. If we were to build again, we’d likely not go with a Bloomfield home unless we knew of significant improvement in customer service and communication. We were not able to get upgrades we requested. Slab was poured early for plumbing requests. We did not have walk-thru prior to sheetrock installation and some outlets were no in our preferred locations. At times some frustration having appointments delayed or rescheduled. If not for a sound deal and some resolutions made, this rating would be less.

Over all I do like my new house, but the ask of this survey is to rate my experience. First off the build was a month late. I know this build was in the middle of a pandemic, but the reality is it caused me to live out of my RV for a month. It also forced me to keep my household items in storage an extra month. Second blinds were written into my contract but did not get installed till after I moved in. I had to take time off from work trot them to finish something that should have been done before I moved in. Third is my front door was wrapped and was leaving a half inch gap between the weather stripping and the door. I feel this should have been caught by someone prior to me taking ownership. This problem has yet to be corrected. My last big complaint is the driveway. The curb is a gradual style curb,. The builder does not cut the curb when installing your drive way. The creates both a very anting bump and cause my daughters brand new civic to scrape. There is no way I will be able to have a sports car get into this driveway. Again I truly do like my house, but being late on the build, not paying attention to quality issues, not having all the work contracted complete for the closing date and the usability of the driveway gives my buying experience a low score. Let me first start off and say that the quality of the end product was wonderful. Bloomfield builds a spectacular home that you walk away with very happy. So let me touch on a couple of the things that stuck out along the way: 1) Their system of keeping up with things is extremely outdated. Handwritten notes, spreadsheets (multiple versions), as well as voice conversations. All of these get mixed up and confused along the way, with each individual working off of different assumptions. Things that were verbally agreed to were forgotten at times; different versions of the spreadsheet were floating around which confused some of the orders. 2) Proactive communication was horrible. I came from a place where the builder would communicate with the client on a once a week or once every other week basis, just to let them know what MIGHT be going on within that time span. It provided me a sense of ease when that happened. However, with Bloomfield there was almost NO proactive communication. Often times I would get better communication by simply going to the city site and seeing the failures or passes of the city inspections. 3) Responsiveness on the reactive communication was superb. Whenever there was an issue (I stopped by the house a lot), the builder promptly took care of it. So, while the proactive communication was nonexistent, when there was an issue, the builder would get it resolved. 4) The quality of the upgrades is amazing. I NEVER felt like I was being nickeled and dimed to death. The standard options and the upgrade paths were very easy to understand. I never felt like they started me off in a very low build then I had to spend a TON of money upgrading. Was very pleased with their base product and the upgrades offered. I do wish I would have been offered some ideas, such as, a lot of people put a door here for a pool, or we've seen this done a lot in terms of customization. You don't know these going into the process =). If they would implement a better system for managing the actual purchasing process and a proactive communication plan, you'd see no complaints on my review =) ... More

There are things I didn’t notice on walk thru I do now but warranty covers should be fine .

The workman ship of the house was not great and it has not been great trying to get them to come fix it.

This is my second newly built home and Bloomfield has been amazing to deal with from the moment we put a contract down to even dealing with minor warranty issues here and there. They honored the contracted sales price at a time other home builders wouldn’t and they delivered on time (shout out to Jeremy, our project manager). Highly recommended.

Anyone we contacted with questions throughout the building process answered them quickly or directed us to the right person who did.

Best experience I've ever had with a new build.

Before my house were build I have high expectations from Bloomfield, but when pandemic hit oh-boy it changes everything!!! Since it’s my first time to build a house, every weeks I decided to went up to my house and check how is the progress were handle. 1) House frame: (Attic)they’re using wood that it should be in a trash! There is no way these kind of wood can nailed into house frames in attic and pass the inspection!!!lol 2) Sheetrock cutting were unprofessional special at the corner! The gap was opened and never filled up. 3) Started from down stair go up to Attic. Plywoods only applying around area where AC/Hot-Water tank. The rest are applying cheap flat wood unsafely to walk any further on attic. 4) Inside Garage doors: there is a gap between foundation concrete and Sheetrock it was never shield up or cover up, by leaving that way ants, bugs, and roach can get in! 5)During first walk apply green and blue types that just for fun because they will not fix all the types you put up there! 6) Warranty: after submitting its take so long for builder to followed up, after follow up with builder still follow up people who’s coming out to fix. This is something very unprofessional I have to deals with! And here I thought brand name builder will keep it professionalism as their brand name are but I guess not! ... More

This integrity of this builder is something I thought I would never encounter. Floyd, Leeroy and the whole crew at HMS who work closely with Bloomfield were so professional, so decent. No surprise they are so successful.
