Overall good experience but expected to be so much better!

I am overall happy with our experience with Bloomfield Homes. We decided to select them since were willing to make a few custom changes for us, but it was unfortunate those items had to be managed by myself! Our so called project manager dropped the ball so many times I had to ask Community Manager who is really managing this construction. We selected the Carolina IV floor plan, but here are our top 10 items for future buyers to consider (especially those in master bathroom): 1) The entry rotunda lacks a closet if that’s important feature. 2) The master bathroom lacks a linen closet ...

Nice home…Cheap cabinetry.

Buyer pay close attention. When they tell you to point out any issues, DO IT. The builder is not checking any quality. They just let to contractors do as they please. I was surprised at what we had to point out to be fixed. I thought obvious issues would be dealt with but no. They use the cheapest constructed cabinets I’ve ever seen. Zero quality. Zero pride in workmanship. Instead of making cabinet seems fit they just stick trim over the seam. Cabinet guides were bent and not parallel. Obvious from the beginning. I kept being told everything would be taken care of. Now 1 month into ...

The buying process was almost flawless. Unfortunately, two of the tubs placed in my home has stains in them as well as there are some areas that looks to be rushed jobs. There was something wasted on my carpet and a couple of panels/baseboards broken and installed.

You should Get better contractors.I feel the painters and flooring contractors were losey could have done a better job, , also issues with plumbing, had issues with cabinets uneven. The inspector should have picked up on alot of issues of peoples homes. Your style of homes are too nice not to be done properly.

We knew going into this homebuying process that we were in a pandemic. We asked from the very beginning about any foreseeable delays. I understand that the builder cannot control supplies and things like that but this process was very difficult on me and my husband. We knew we had to sell our current home before we close because we did not have a contingency sale. So that went without a hitch. We moved six times before we were able to finally move into our home. The home is beautiful we’ve had a lot of minor workmanship issues. Bloomfield staff has been very responsive and taking care of ...

The biggest problem was that the supervisor was not here and that we had to point out problems that the working contractors were causing. We had a water leak after the stud walls were in place that never got address until we had to call it in to get fixed. We had 3 times they had to cut holes in the sheet rock to work on electric plugs that didn’t work. Each time fixing them and then having to go back and cut them out again. We still have a electric plug out side the back porch that doesn’t work. We had to have the framing contractor come back and place ceiling hangers where trusses were ...

Since materials and the housing market went through the roof, customer service, holding up to agreements and finishing build errors have gone straight downhill. It’s sad to realize 3 months in and just a few things left to correct and complete, I and my new home no longer seem matter to Bloomfield. I understand the market has shaken builders and buyers, but customer service should never be sacrificed in any industry or market.
Bloomfield Homes responded:
Natalie, we sincerely apologize that this has been your experience. We strive to do our very best every day on every job. Indeed, this market and the delays that have resulted due to material shortages, etc. have made things more difficult for both home builders and new home buyers. Overall, pretty solid experience. However, we were delayed a lot, understandably due to the pandemic. But with the extra time, we expected better workmanship. A few issues that we are just not pleased with such as several cracks in the driveway already, drywall and texture eye sores, few areas that needed cocking, cracked tile pieces in the shower, “lumpy” landscaping, a giant hole in my front yard that still hasn’t been filled, and several “hollow” spots on the floors... we’ve addressed a few issues but at this point it just feels like we are bugging Michael and we feel we shouldn’t have to ...

The home was built in the time frame stated by the sales person and was kept abreast of its progress. I feel that issues with fixing items that need to be corrected after closing moved slower than normal. We paid extra for ceramic floor upgrade but floor was not protected during interior painting and has areas of paint smudge that are hard to clean. I feel that the workers need to be better supervised to take care of the minor details.

I am happy with my new house, One thing I would like to mention here that the sales manager or construction manager should spend more time with the buyer to explain all items in the house to avoid extra costs to the buyer in case if the buyer wants to modify or change something in the house after closing...Many buyers are not professional in house construction and design. Please address this poin to the associated team

Cassie’s new home experience.

The allure of the home was that in the neighborhood there were various elevations. The homes were built in different styles versus cookie cutter homes. I love the bar, atty of different stone and brick combinations in the elevations floor plans. Unfortunately; I discovered lots of defects some have been properly repaired in a few. I’m still waiting on. When I did my exterior walk on the home, I don’t recall seeing the hairline cracks on both sides of the home. When I moved in, I noticed the cracks had been filled in with some type of silicone. I will give home some more time to settle ...

I recently purchased a home from Bloomfield Homes at Hulen Trail, and overall, I found that the houses are generally in line with what you pay for. The prices are reasonable, and the community manager was a standout in terms of being great and very responsive. I always felt like I could count on her for assistance. During the closing process, we encountered some issues with the quality of the home. However, the community manager was extremely helpful in organizing and addressing all of these problems. Our buying experience was alright. We originally wanted to purchase a different house, toured it, and were ready to make an offer when one of the assistants said they were holding it for a couple who wanted to come look at it later. We toured another home and liked it and decided to put an offer in on it. Of course the other home fell through shortly after we signed papers for this home. Overall quality is mediocre. Finding a few blue tape items were never touched, towel holders falling out of wall, closet doors warped, areas they never touched up on with paint, paint freckles all over the ...

My wife and I looked at homes from several builders and Bloomfield appeared to be in the top 2 builders for quality from what we could see. It’s hard to judge because when we bought our house, the marker was bad….supplies were low and costs were continuing to go up. However, regardless of costs/market, there’s still some things on our new house that make you go “hmm….is this just cheap or did someone make a mistake?” Overall we are pleased. We like that Bloomfield put a drip system around the foundation as part of their new home packages, which will keep the foundation rock solid for ...

The value of the home is amazing. Great choices and many standard options are considered upgrades with other builders. The process had its ups and downs. There were many moments where communication lacked as to delays during the build and what was to be expected. The workmanship disappoints a bit as it seems they rely to much on the warranty. A lot of small issues that add up that should have been caught before closing if they just slowed down and checked the work thoroughly. Even after the pre closing walk through where we pointed out issues, many of them were not corrected. Overall, happy ...
