There were a few hiccups throughout the home buying and build of our home. They were taken care of eventually, but after moving in we discovered the rushed low quality workmanship that went into repairs and all around build of our home. Window height is not consistent and not sealed fully. Overspray of paint and stain in front and back porch. It is evident that a “good enough, hurry and get it done” mentality was used in building our home.

Not responsive in any productive manner to issues sent to be addressed. II have been waiting for 1 to 2 months for simple things to be addressed and have more being added to the list with no one responding. Would love to know that my year will come in all

I would love to have all of my new home buyer issues addressed before my one year timeframe lapses. I love my home but when lights don’t work, doors won’t stay closed and alarm system malfunctions with poor customer service response I cannot leave a positive response. Would like for this not to be my case. Please help!!

Roof leaks.

I need for Bloomfield homes to take responsibility for my roof leaking. The roofer doesn’t seem to know if it is fixed or not. The insulation is mildewing in the walls and attic. If my family gets sick, everyone will know about Bloomfield Homes.

Before my house were build I have high expectations from Bloomfield, but when pandemic hit oh-boy it changes everything!!! Since it’s my first time to build a house, every weeks I decided to went up to my house and check how is the progress were handle. 1) House frame: (Attic)they’re using wood that it should be in a trash! There is no way these kind of wood can nailed into house frames in attic and pass the inspection!!!lol 2) Sheetrock cutting were unprofessional special at the corner! Our builder Chris is the only bright spot for me. He is responsive and does what he can when there are issues. The dishwasher has not worked for close to a month now. The garage door broke and the company “TBS garage” is a farce. Initially left a message on their 24 hr emergency line and never got a response. I called again after the whole power outtage/water ordeal and person said that their system is down so they can’t schedule me for service and that they will call me back. Consider your experiences throughout the process, including the initial purchase, design and options selection, during the build, at final inspection, and during your final move-in: Spec home not much room for customizations How would you describe the quality and value of your new home? We were not able to get upgrades we requested. Slab was poured early for plumbing requests. We did not have walk-thru prior to sheetrock installation and some outlets were no in our preferred locations. At times some frustration having appointments delayed or rescheduled. If not for a sound deal and some resolutions made, this rating would be less.

Great build, poor planning with utility services

Overall, Bloomfield builds a great home. The only issues we had were a result of poor communication with the developer and utility services such as AT&T internet. Once we moved in we didn't have internet for a month. In addition, the pre wiring completed by the builder for internet is outdated. AT&T has had fiber direct for quite sometime now and the wires that are hanging (eye sore, hide them in a box) out of the closet are of no use. Do your final walk through when the builders are finish working

Overall the home is good. However it does not appear that much attention was given to details. The finishing touches appears sloppy. For example there are stickers on all the outlets, the plater was not cut correctly where the plaster and floor of the garage meets, their is paint on surfaces where it shouldn't be.

Tommy was my sales rep in the Treesfarm phase (Desoto TX) and he was horrible. He was rarely available, made a critical mistake with my paper work, and a flat out liar. He constantly boasted about how my home was his 7th sale that week. He was fortunate because this subdivision just happens to be about 50k to 70k cheaper with double the land than any of the other phases in the vicinity. Make sure you know exactly. What color you won't inside and outside your house done, Because they will not change the color later. Be certain on what you want done up front., Because there will be no changes later.

I love my house! The few things I found that needed fixed in the first month they were very responsive to. A few hiccups in the contracting phase and with getting keys when I closed, but overall it was good. Bloomfield builds the best homes! I wouldn’t want another builder. Thanks for everything.

Processes were slow and getting answers was difficult at times

The 3rd party contractors were sloppy. There didn’t seem to be much care of respect for the property they worked on. Sod was not laid the best. Paint was literally everywhere from door to door. Gouges in the floors. Stains in my sink and tubs. Kitchen counter tops were stained. For such high cost high quality homes, the 3rd party contractors should be better. The lack of wi-fi capable products in 2022 is also a bit shocking. There should be at the very least an option to install smart devices without having to be restricted to one company.

If you decide to have Bloomfield to build your house make sure you continuously stay on top of the process because any hesitations can lead to something not going according to the plan of your home. I was supposed to have some recessed lights installed in my living room and because I took it for granted that they would install them, they did not get installed. I talked to the builder about it and they said it was nothing they could do about it because my ceiling was to high for them to go back and install the lights. I purchased at the beginning of the pandemic and dealt with supply shortages, etc. so purchasing now may be quite a different experience, but it was frustrating when you're expecting 8-10 months for a build and it takes 17 months. Overall at the end I am happy with the house and since I locked in my price before the surge in prices ended up with a good equity in my house.
