Bloomfield was great throughout the entire process. Even with the delays because of everything from the pandemic and material shortages they still worked hard to get us built,and closed.

So the over home buying experience will come in various way. Closing was great as it was quick and well organize with all documents. The financing part was the headache and will remain anonymous on who we started out with but it was confusing, unclear and at time very degrading in communications. The lender we closed with made it clear and less stress with clearer numbers that made sense in my decision to change lender. The staff that works directly with Bloomfield are great, straightforward and to the point and I appreciate each staff I have met on this journey. I don’t have a great review for the value as the appraisal came out lower therm the listing price of the home and Bloomfield did reject the appraisal amount which was disappointing but we still made the decision to move forward as we really do love the home we are in and the community we reside in. The process to build my Bloomfield home was horrendous. Trying to reach someone to get issues around my home fixed is a nightmare. I will never go with Bloomfield again. It took almost a year and half to build my home.

Patrice made my home buying experience very pleasant. She was very knowledgeable and responsive.

I had a Bloomfield home built that was suppose to be ready by December but I didn't close until mid March. I hired a private inspector who found several things that needed to be fixed prior to moving in. Most things were minor but Bloomfield made it seem as if it wasn't a big issue. Well if you are having a brand new house built then you want it to look and feel new. Upon moving in some of those things were still not fixed and additionally I found several other things. After only living in the house for a month my closet racks have ripped from the wall causing all of my clothes to fall down and the tile has chipped on the floor. After trying to have security installed, we realized there was no scuttle hole cut out to have attic access. With Bloomfield being a reputable builder, I am very dissatisfied with the way my house was thrown together. I would definitely recommend anyone building a home to hire your own inspector prior to closing and make sure any findings are all fixed. ... More

The experience was very negative, drawn out for 2 years and we had to constantly have 3rd party inspections in order to get the home halfway constructed correctly.

We had to wait a long time due to material shortages but in the end it was all worth while. We love our new home and neighborhood. In fact I have convinced a buyer that to they should buy Bloomfield and just waiting for lot release in May.

The building process was nothing like it should have been. We were never updated on issues going on. The day we moved in the HVAC system was not working due to unfinished work. Dishwasher did not work and unfinished trim and paint work. Had to have someone come out because the attic was not fully insulated. This is due to poor project management and people not checking the work of others and making sure everything is completed and in proper working order.

I wouldn't buy another home from Bloomfield. They are selling houses, and building houses so fast that their quality has gone into the toilet. Sloppy work everywhere, electrical, painting, roofing, you name it. I confronted the "builder" and said that it appears that the trades people don't have much pride in their work. He said they're being pushed to complete jobs so fast that they don't have time. I guess they don't have time to do a good job. I've been in the house for over a month now and I'm still waiting for someone to fix certain items that have been outstanding for many months. The process is definitely broken. ... More

Home price going high evry couple months, but materials and job quality is going down (bad).

Can do better when it comes to workmanship , materials are good but workmanship is not up to the expectations.

We love our home, everything worked out with the build. We have one thing needing addressed and haven’t gotten it resolved.

The home is gorgeous.. worth all the unpleasantness we dealt with for a year.. we started out with an amazing property manager who was very open and honest and communicated great. I also appreciated the project manager for his honesty along the way.. I understand covid was also in play so we were as understanding as possible.. they let go of our property manager and brought in someone we don’t trust at all. We waited from March of 2021 and moved in March of 2022… spent a lot of money living month to month on apartments cause we were given a closing date 4 different times. The title company was rude before closing and even ruder at closing. You would think that the happiest moment of our life would be enjoyable but they were negative and not once smiled at us.. I am sooo happy to be done with the process because I WILL NEVER go through it again.. I am in my dream home and enjoying my family and the future. I like the floor plan but the quality of workmanship is poor.

Bloomfield has my respect as far as price guarantee, the issue is more promoted time of completion vs actual time of completion. You can tell things were left undone and unchecked in order to rush the closing date. Completion was 6 months after projected date causing extensions to leases and have a high rate mortgages as well. Most materials used are good quality though

What stood out the most in this homebuying process was the people we encountered. From start to finish, they were caring, listened to our concerns, coached us along the way, and made us feel as if we were the only homebuyers in the world. Although we experience delays due to supply chain issues, I wouldn’t change anything. I’m all about service. From the day we walked into the model home to express interest, to the day we picked up our keys to move in, the Bloomfield team was simply amazing! From the start, they listened to our concerns regarding our contract as we were previously under contract which was canceled without notice from another builder. The Bloomfield team assured us that our contract would not be canceled on their end under any circumstances. I was still skeptical but my gut told me I could trust this builder and I’m glad I did!!! ... More

I love my home but all the delays were really inconvenient when my home was getting built.

Although I have now closed on a beautiful home, I was highly disappointed in this process. My sales associate was great however, the builde did an awful job. I have multiple photos that show the defects in spliced studs. I was constantly liked to and when I reached out to the builder to discuss issues I was fed even more lies. I came out every weekend to keep an eye on things and basically had to perform the QA process of a build myself. I understand the delays in material that we are experiencing but that does not excuse the builder changing my closing date two days before I am supposed to close. Ryan with Bloomfield is irresponsible and will only tell the buyer what they want to hear. I constantly found beer bottles around the job site and had to address it on multiple accounts with the builder. ... More

We had a great experience with Bloomfield Homes (Autumn Run - Midlothian) from the beginning to the end. During the sales period, the sales team (led by Bob) was very transparent, they never tried to upsell us on anything, and answered all our questions candidly. During the construction phase, the project manager (Chad) did a good job of communicating milestones and potential challenges with timelines. They were able to keep the timelines for completion. The only setback that was experienced was due to supply chain issues and it only delayed work for about 6-7 weeks and they did a good job of communicating this to us quickly. The best thing about this builder was the fact that they did not raise prices after the contract was signed. The builder honored the lock-in price guarantees in the contract even when market prices for materials had gone up significantly shortly after the contract was signed. ... More
