I understand that Covid is messed a lot of things up, but to take more than 13 months for basic house is ridiculous. Also, not to be able to make any changes at all was frustrating. You should call yourself Bloomfield track homes. I will say that the communication or lack there of was the biggest issue for us. From the salesman to the builder it was terrible. And the attitude that we were so lucky to even be getting a house when there were so many on the waiting list. We still over paid for a basic home, but I guess we should be grateful. This is our 4th home to build and by far the worst ...

Getting small things repaired for a new construction home is a challenge. The warranty people are responsive but the time frame to follow through with getting things fixed end up being delayed Example: Dishwasher, floors, fence, and tub need repair in my new construction home. Scheduling for warranty items only occur during the week day from 8:00-5:00, so it's challenging to get things fixed when you work. I'm still waiting on touch up paint to be delivered and I was told that it would be left in the house when I did the orientation. Overall, I like my new home and I think the ...

We went into contract mid-build. Framing and roof were completed. The builder was not very flexible with changing design choices. It was very much take it or leave it. There were many things that could have been changed such as fixtures, faucets and door hardware that we were not allowed to change. In fact after just two change requests we were told to stop asking. I get that it was a seller's market but we had to spend nearly $20K after closing on items that the builder could have let us change mid-build. Super frustrating and I won't be buying another Bloomfield Home.
Bloomfield Homes responded:
We appreciate your feedback and apologize for any issues after closing and throughout you build. If you have any outstanding warranty items that need to be addressed, please fill out the form on our website and someone will get back to you.

Bloomfield Homes - I purchased at the beginning of the pandemic and dealt with supply

I purchased at the beginning of the pandemic and dealt with supply shortages, etc. so purchasing now may be quite a different experience, but it was frustrating when you're expecting 8-10 months for a build and it takes 17 months. Overall at the end I am happy with the house and since I locked in my price before the surge in prices ended up with a good equity in my house.
Bloomfield Homes responded:
We appreciate your feedback, Deborah, and your patience throughout the building process. We are glad to hear it was worth it and you are happy with your home. Welcome to the Bloomfield family!

2022 Bloomfield home review

Scott was a pleasure to work with throughout the process. Assisted in choosing the best home model and lot. Had a multitude of delays and hiccups along the way that Scott was task with keeping me abreast of, even though almost nine were of his doing. I feel the quality and workmanship of the home suffered because of a lack of supervision throughout the home building process. The trades are in such demand that I think builders are willing to sacrifice quality just to get someone on site. Many of the delays we suffered, in my opinion, we’re absolutely avoidable if our build would have been ...

6 months delay

It is really hard to give a review on a product that for one reason or another was delayed 6 months. However, I would like to give 5 stars to Travis for his great job and effort to try to finish our home despite all the external issues. I’ve been in the house for a month and I’m really enjoying the house. There are a few minor issues that Bloomfield needs to come back to fix but overall I love my house.

Mike is good pretty good at communication but overall not the best especially with the finance company.. The part of contract that we had to sale our home by roofing stage. But the Bloomfield is an estimate which essentially could have put us homeless with the estimate on Bloomfield’s side. We ended up purchasing a home which we had no choices. The plumbing line had to be worked on x2 in the first week due to construction debris not being taken care of. The water to the dishwasher was not connected. The fence is bars showing one side then not on then showing then not no consistency with it. ...

We contracted for our home in Nov of 20 with a projected completion date of Oct 21 but did not get to close on it until April of 22 in the Oak Hill Ranch development in Cross Roads. Bloomfield honored everything in the contract which was greatly appreciated. We were told about some of the delays that were associated with supply shortages and or damaged materials all during a global pandemic to boot. However, our sales manager left in late 2021 so transitioning to his replacement added to our overall frustration with lack of communication by Bloomfield team members. Frequently we asked for ...

So the over home buying experience will come in various way. Closing was great as it was quick and well organize with all documents. The financing part was the headache and will remain anonymous on who we started out with but it was confusing, unclear and at time very degrading in communications. The lender we closed with made it clear and less stress with clearer numbers that made sense in my decision to change lender. The staff that works directly with Bloomfield are great, straightforward and to the point and I appreciate each staff I have met on this journey. I don’t have a great review ...

Beautiful home but poorly built

I had a Bloomfield home built that was suppose to be ready by December but I didn't close until mid March. I hired a private inspector who found several things that needed to be fixed prior to moving in. Most things were minor but Bloomfield made it seem as if it wasn't a big issue. Well if you are having a brand new house built then you want it to look and feel new. Upon moving in some of those things were still not fixed and additionally I found several other things. After only living in the house for a month my closet racks have ripped from the wall causing all of my clothes to fall down ...

Bloomfield Homes - The building process was nothing like it should have been.

The building process was nothing like it should have been. We were never updated on issues going on. The day we moved in the HVAC system was not working due to unfinished work. Dishwasher did not work and unfinished trim and paint work. Had to have someone come out because the attic was not fully insulated. This is due to poor project management and people not checking the work of others and making sure everything is completed and in proper working order.

Bloomfield has my respect as far as price guarantee, the issue is more promoted time of completion vs actual time of completion. You can tell things were left undone and unchecked in order to rush the closing date. Completion was 6 months after projected date causing extensions to leases and have a high rate mortgages as well. Most materials used are good quality though

Burke was amazing but I felt that his hands were tied on certain issues, one classic example is I wanted cat six or cat seven cable runs for high speed connection and because it was outrageously expensive I didn’t do it and now I’m paying the price for it because my Internet is very very slow and its because of the cabling… I am very very disappointed in your contractors they do terrible work, leave trash everywhere, you have to keep going back and have them redo things over and over again, I would be more than happy to talk to one of your executives about this experience, if I’m spending a ...

The home buying process was more or less OK. But the issue of (1) multiple cracks on the concrete floor of the garage, front and back porch and driveway, (2) nonfunctioning garage door opener on the move-in day, (3) a dead tree in the backyard, (4) blocked master bath tub faucet on the move in day and (5) malfunctioning one AC unit within two weeks (not yet resolved after almost one month now) do not say something good about it.

A Lot of Delays and Poor Communication

It was far from a smooth experience from start to finish and we closed over 2 months behind schedule. We do feel like they delivered a quality home once everything was finally done. Communication should have been substantially better. We went through 2 different project managers and a couple of different sales managers. I had to always be 2 steps ahead of them to catch mistakes.
Bloomfield Homes responded:
Hi, Anonymous, we are very sorry for the delay in closing your home. The 2020-21 Covid-19 Pandemic resulted in many delays and shortages and production plant closings, etc., preventing us from meeting our typical construction deadlines. Communication difficulties arose as a result of these delays and shortages. Sometimes vendors can not give us information on deliveries, etc. because they, too, had shortages on materials and delays due to the pandemic. This chain reaction led to some disappointing experiences. For that, we apologize. Additionally, we continued to open new communities and move builders, community managers, etc. to other communities. We apologize if this caused any inconvenience for you. We hope you have many wonderful years in your Bloomfield Home. - floor gouge repaired with putty that doesn’t match floor. - granite countertops not sealed. - fireplace insert not secured and doesn’t align with the gas on/off port. - painting not completed. Builder placed blue tape around the house, but didn’t go back and fix. - pvc pipe into garage not sealed around hole. Again, blue tape, but no fix. - stove top pilot light doesn’t work on burner. - oven clock doesn’t keep time correctly. - bathtub has gouges and scratch marks. Warranty has covered some.
