Poor Design center. Too small and cluttered. Design center in Frisco was in upstairs room. Difficult/impossible for Handicap clients to access.
Bloomfield Homes responded:
Thank you for bringing to our attention that the Design Center is upstairs. We will also try to keep the room better organized in the future.

A number of issues with a new home
- Jaret H.

We have had a number of issues with our new home. These have ranged from a massive leak in the utility room that damaged the drywall to unfinished areas under the sink. Our latest issue seems to be another water leak that has led to a water bill for 25,000 gallons of water and what seems to be a loose screw or wire that was in the garbage disposal (our first use of it was greeted by a sharp metallic sound). We enjoy the home and it looks nice, but it just feels like a never ending chain of problems that we have to deal with. My wife felt so very good about the home when we bought it. She was ...

After about 6 weeks in our home it seems to be of good quality; however they appear to be slow in fixing the list of items identified during final walk through and during our first days in the home. There is a lack of communication on the status of any action being taken on the list.

I've been in my home one month and 10 days and due to carelessness have had a water leak. I've been without the complete use of my kitchen since May 28th. The Bloomfield representative has been excellent getting the situation resolved, however nothing was offered for this inconvenience until I asked. One can expect some things to be corrected but not a water leak.
Bloomfield Homes responded:
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We are sad to hear about your water leak and understand how frustrating that must have been. Glad to see that the issue is being resolved and we apologize for any inconvenience. Please keep us posted on the resolution of this issue and let us know if there is anything else we can ...

I wish someone would have fully explained that there is three years of home automation service included with the purchase. The home automation company began calling me on my way home from closing and was very pushy making me think they were just another salesman. Warranty department needs improvement. I called in a warranty issue on December 4 and was never contacted by the subcontractor. Almost a month went by and I had to contact the subcontractor and begin the process with them. I specifically asked Bloomfield if the A/C units were conventional units or heat pumps and was told they ...

My overall experience in building with Bloomfield Homes was just okay nothing to rave about. Communication from the builders was not proactive and the overall quality of materials and workmanship is below expectations. When selecting upgrades, It's important to keep in mind that you paying for the aesthetics not the aesthetics, quality material, and quality workmanship. For example, selecting shaker cabinets and the premium kitchen upgrade came with visible nail holes, rail hardware that doesn't support the drawers, and dinged-up drawers. We are also still trying to clean up residual gunk ...

1. Mailbox keys were lost and took 4 weeks to get resolved. 2. Trim on kitchen island was not adhered and came off. Hoffman came and repaired. 3. Drawer on kitchen island is hard to close. Hoffman came and repaired but I don't believe the fix will last. 4. Cabinets have scuff marks that were supposed to be repaired by contractor but did not happen. 5. Was supposed to receive a paint and trim touchup kit but that did not happen. 6. Utilized Guardian security which is recommended by Bloomfield and was told some of the security features do not work with the dimmer switch installed on the ...

I understand that Covid is messed a lot of things up, but to take more than 13 months for basic house is ridiculous. Also, not to be able to make any changes at all was frustrating. You should call yourself Bloomfield track homes. I will say that the communication or lack there of was the biggest issue for us. From the salesman to the builder it was terrible. And the attitude that we were so lucky to even be getting a house when there were so many on the waiting list. We still over paid for a basic home, but I guess we should be grateful. Getting small things repaired for a new construction home is a challenge. The warranty people are responsive but the time frame to follow through with getting things fixed end up being delayed Example: Dishwasher, floors, fence, and tub need repair in my new construction home. Scheduling for warranty items only occur during the week day from 8:00-5:00, so it's challenging to get things fixed when you work. I'm still waiting on touch up paint to be delivered and I was told that it would be left in the house when I did the orientation. Overall, I like my new home and I think the ...

I had a Bloomfield home built that was suppose to be ready by December but I didn't close until mid March. I hired a private inspector who found several things that needed to be fixed prior to moving in. Most things were minor but Bloomfield made it seem as if it wasn't a big issue. Well if you are having a brand new house built then you want it to look and feel new. Upon moving in some of those things were still not fixed and additionally I found several other things. After only living in the house for a month my closet racks have ripped from the wall causing all of my clothes to fall down ...

Burke was amazing but I felt that his hands were tied on certain issues, one classic example is I wanted cat six or cat seven cable runs for high speed connection and because it was outrageously expensive I didn’t do it and now I’m paying the price for it because my Internet is very very slow and its because of the cabling… I am very very disappointed in your contractors they do terrible work, leave trash everywhere, you have to keep going back and have them redo things over and over again, I would be more than happy to talk to one of your executives about this experience, if I’m spending a ...

A Lot of Delays and Poor Communication

It was far from a smooth experience from start to finish and we closed over 2 months behind schedule. We do feel like they delivered a quality home once everything was finally done. Communication should have been substantially better. We went through 2 different project managers and a couple of different sales managers. I had to always be 2 steps ahead of them to catch mistakes.
Bloomfield Homes responded:
Hi, Anonymous, we are very sorry for the delay in closing your home. The 2020-21 Covid-19 Pandemic resulted in many delays and shortages and production plant closings, etc., preventing us from meeting our typical construction deadlines. Communication difficulties arose as a result of these delays and shortages. Sometimes vendors can not give us information on deliveries, etc. because they, too, had shortages on materials and delays due to the pandemic. This chain reaction led to some disappointing experiences. For that, we apologize. Additionally, we continued to open new communities and move builders, community managers, etc. to other communities. We apologize if this caused any inconvenience for you. We hope you have many wonderful years in your Bloomfield Home. - floor gouge repaired with putty that doesn’t match floor. - granite countertops not sealed. - fireplace insert not secured and doesn’t align with the gas on/off port. - painting not completed. Builder placed blue tape around the house, but didn’t go back and fix. - pvc pipe into garage not sealed around hole. Again, blue tape, but no fix. - stove top pilot light doesn’t work on burner. - oven clock doesn’t keep time correctly. - bathtub has gouges and scratch marks. Warranty has covered some. Hopefully, we can get the rest fixed by them.

I was not intimated about the transition of hardware, the time i signed the house and then there was transition and i got a house with some new and some old hardwares with different colour combinations. I asked them to replace to any of the one alike combinations but i got a very good response saying that we can’t do anything its “corporate decision” Apart from this mismatch, pretty satisfied with the overall construction and the quality.

Bloomfield has nice design options and homes at reasonable pricing, but they charge for almost everything to upgrade. We’re happy with our home but found a lot of issues with the details and workmanship. They are responsive and try to solve the problems however. Scott was a pleasure to work with throughout the process. Assisted in choosing the best home model and lot. Had a multitude of delays and hiccups along the way that Scott was task with keeping me abreast of, even though almost nine were of his doing. I feel the quality and workmanship of the home suffered because of a lack of supervision throughout the home building process. The trades are in such demand that I think builders are willing to sacrifice quality just to get someone on site. Many of the delays we suffered, in my opinion, we’re absolutely avoidable if our build would have been ...

We contracted for our home in Nov of 20 with a projected completion date of Oct 21 but did not get to close on it until April of 22 in the Oak Hill Ranch development in Cross Roads. Bloomfield honored everything in the contract which was greatly appreciated.
