Eye Opening Buying Experience

The experience was very negative, drawn out for 2 years and we had to constantly have 3rd party inspections in order to get the home halfway constructed correctly.
Bloomfield Homes responded:
We sincerely apologize for any issues during your build and appreciate your patience during these unprecedented times. If you would like to speak to someone at our corporate office about these items, please contact our Director of Sales, Scott Masters at 972.975.7559. Bloomfield Homes - The building process was nothing like it should have been.

The building process was nothing like it should have been. We were never updated on issues going on. The day we moved in the HVAC system was not working due to unfinished work. Dishwasher did not work and unfinished trim and paint work. Had to have someone come out because the attic was not fully insulated. This is due to poor project management and people not checking the work of others and making sure everything is completed and in proper working order.

Bloomfield has my respect as far as price guarantee, the issue is more promoted time of completion vs actual time of completion. You can tell things were left undone and unchecked in order to rush the closing date. Completion was 6 months after projected date causing extensions to leases and have a high rate mortgages as well. Most materials used are good quality though
Bloomfield Homes responded:
We appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve the home building experience for our home buyers. We apologize for any communication issues with the closing date and hope your experience after closing has bettered. Please fill out the warranty request form on our website for any outstanding warranty issues and someone will reach out to you. We wish you many happy years in your new home! ...

Bloomfield Homes - Response time from the builder after the sale was unacceptable.

Response time from the builder after the sale was unacceptable. There were items that needed attention that were discovered post closing. The builder did not respond nor address the issues that needed attention or repairs in a timely manner.
Bloomfield Homes responded:
We apologize that it has taken longer to respond to your items needing attention. We will work hard to do better in the future. I want to make sure that you have the link to fill out your warranty requests. ...

Warranty

The home buying process was more or less OK. But the issue of (1) multiple cracks on the concrete floor of the garage, front and back porch and driveway, (2) nonfunctioning garage door opener on the move-in day, (3) a dead tree in the backyard, (4) blocked master bath tub faucet on the move in day and (5) malfunctioning one AC unit within two weeks (not yet resolved after almost one month now) do not say something good about it.
Bloomfield Homes responded:
Thank you, Mostafa. I understand your frustration and apologize. This is an unprecedented time with the pandemic. Our warranty service manager for Grand Heritage will continue to communicate and address your warranty issues as efficiently as possible. Thank you.

The buying experience was very uncommon. Our home was vandalized with racial graffiti before we moved in, also there was 2 skunks in our attic yes SKUNKS the day we moved in , and to not having running water for almost 2 days because of broken pipes with the irrigation system.
Bloomfield Homes responded:
We are very sorry for this experience. We agree this experience is uncommon. Thank you for reaching out so that we could get your irrigation system repaired.

Materials & Workmanship

Framing material was just fair. Many pieces were not in the best of shape yet workers still used them even after we brought it to their attention. Concrete laid was very wavy, holes in various spots, one corner completely fell apart. Brought it to their attention as we didn't want to have this be an issue when the flooring got laid and apparently they didn't fix it because we had to have 2 section of flooring relayed and some of our furniture still does not lay flat to the floor. Painting, texture fair. Paint is a very poor grade of paint and for the price paid for this home, should have ...

Great house - few issues not resoved

Bloomfield makes a great and very pretty house. We have had a few minor (not showstopper) issues including missing trim and minor adjustments as needed. We were hit with a $700 water bill the first month as the sprinkers had been adjusted to settle the sod - it had not been communicated to us to dial back the sprinklers and even when we did to the suggest values there was still a lot of water being used.

Customer Satisfaction

We purchased a spec house. Although there were a lot of thing we couldn't change, we were still pretty satisfied in the beginning. After we moved into our house, there were some things that needed to be fixed. The service was slow. My wife and I work, so we had to take off or wait until the weekend. We continue to find subpar things such as windows not sealed properly, scratches on the countertops, etc. Most of these things are fixed. I love my home but the service could be better.

Lots of poor work in build. Walls are very crooked. Tile is not level in many places, cracked in transition from hall to rooms. Paint was not good either. Garage door is spotty around the edges(common when checking neighbors). Texture incomplete on every wall. Sanding not done. Garage door has already snapped the wall it’s connected to. Also very common when looking at other builds. Landscaping not leveled. Lots of drainage issues, will need to install a drain system to remove puddles in yard. First time I mowed I found massive holes in the yard that were filled with ...

Great Sell Manager Experience but Bad Project Manager Experience

I am very please with my Sell manager experience but the Project manager experience wasn't good at all. Given my experience, I would still recommend Bloomfield. I love our home for the most part but I would not recommend building with the Project manager for our home. Again, I think that Bloomfield is a very good builder but we just had a bad experience with our Project manager.

Not pleased with the staff and their response time, regarding concerns. Contractors were messy, inconsiderate of property and patched up a lot of flaws. Project manager had poor communication skills and failed to monitor job site to ensure accuracy. Third home purchased and this was the only place the agent did not show appreciation by sending a housewarming gift, not even a plant :( Wish I had given the commission to someone more hospitable/appreciative.

What is good is you can choose your lot and home design. The price stays the same after you sign no matter what hapoens invthe matket. What is bad is the communication. They had an issue with the heating and air unit due to demand. We got an explanation but no details. When we questioned it we got a snotty email back. Many times telling us they will give us our earnest money back and this lead to a lack of trust for us. All we wanted was details. They did not put liners in the bathtubs, which bothered us and led to scratches. We are still waiting on some punch-out items to be fixed. Overall ...

Not happy with the quality of workmanship and very long wait time without any reasonable explanation. There are multiple small issue all around the house which makes you feel like buying a used home rather than the brand new house. We did not want them to delay the closing to address those little issues, due to our existing extended lease expiration date. I know, there is warranty available to address those issues which is very nice to know but as I said,I would expect them to be done properly at first place in a BRAND NEW home. Also, I have observed, some certain plans are built by ...

While the price was reasonable and the communication with sales person was good, the overall quality and craftsmanship of the home was very poor. We are still dealing with plumbing issues and things that should have been taken care of prior to closing. Lastly, wiring in attic is all over and not neatly attached to rafters or in a conduit.

If someone from Bloomfield that has authority sees this, I've written you as well. Where was the project manager? I brought up several concerns that were flat out ignored (work wasn't completed properly for warranty purposes). We did a punch list walk through 2 weeks before closing and half the items weren't completed. Had to get a painter over to at least handle all the baseboard touch ups from the wood flooring because I didn't have time to mess with delaying movers and dealing with having all furniture shifted to get to it. Other items, like patching missing trim, was left undone. ...

Upon the closing of our home, there where some final items that where supposedly done that was not. The under laying of our kitchen cabinets where not painted all the way through. The mantle on the fireplace is still leaning to this day. The quality of the paint was disturbing because it easily stains and wipes off easily. The landscaping is full of rocks and rebar was left around the backyard and a huge one in the ground on the side of the house. The chalking around the wood is expanding, and the house wasn’t cleaned on our closing day and the lawn was not cut. I was very disappointed with ...
