Love the House - Hate how long it took

Will state up front that we love our new house. It is wonderful, quality construction, a fantastic modern house. We are very happy there. But getting to that point was a painstaking process that almost caused us to pull out. We signed our paperwork on Memorial Day weekend, broke ground in August, yet didn't move in until late the following July. While I didn't expect that 6 to 8 month build the saleslady predicted, I did not think that it would take 14 months. Communication was poor and usually initiated by me. I can handle that part of it, but the excuses I got (when I got any) were ...

Defects were found during the building process and pointed out to Project Manager, Instead of properly correcting the issue it would just be covered up instead. There are several issues that are very sub par quality in workmanship.
Bloomfield Homes responded:
We are very sorry to hear that you did not have a better home building experience. We strive to ensure our customers are receiving the best service possible and have high expectations for the quality of our work. To hear that you did not receive this high level of service and detail is not acceptable in our eyes. We'd love the chance to rectify any issues that occured during the building process and that may still be ongoing, and investigate issues that were not taken care of initially. Disappointing Experience with Bloomfield Homes

From start to finish, the lack of communication and poor customer service were glaring issues that made the entire process frustrating and stressful. First and foremost, the communication from Bloomfield Homes was abysmal. There were countless instances where I had to follow up multiple times to get any updates on the progress of my home. Simple questions often went unanswered for days or even weeks, leaving me in the dark about important decisions and timelines. Furthermore, when I did manage to get in touch with someone, the customer service was consistently subpar. Responses were often ...

TERRIBLE BUILDER

Although I have now closed on a beautiful home, I was highly disappointed in this process. My sales associate was great however, the builde did an awful job. I have multiple photos that show the defects in spliced studs. I was constantly liked to and when I reached out to the builder to discuss issues I was fed even more lies. I came out every weekend to keep an eye on things and basically had to perform the QA process of a build myself. I understand the delays in material that we are experiencing but that does not excuse the builder changing my closing date two days before I am supposed to ...

We bought a spec home prior to the foundation being laid; however, we were not allowed to change any of the options or color selections. Even though there were several options we would have chosen differently, we were OK with that. We asked for only one thing, to pay for two extra network ports to be added to the five that are included with the house. The sales person initially said yes; but later the builder said “no” and said, in fact, for the five included ports that they would run wires through the walls, but that we would have to go down to Home Depot and buy the ports ourselves and ...

Leaking windows caused MOLD

There was an issue with one of the window, but it was patched and inspection passed. Then soon after, rain water leaking through the window and damage the windows. Service ticket opened. I pressed the urgent issue due to window leak and caused MOLD. Window service and open up the windows and mold discovered. The service men tried to patch the window up without proper testing for leaking. After weeks, they decided that they ordered new windows. The room is not usable for more than a month now. I don't know when it will be done properly. I don't know where to voice my concern, because seems ...

The initial process was fantastic. We had a great time designing the home. Even the initial build seemed to go without a hitch. The problems started once we had to wait on windows for 6 weeks and it went downhill from there. So far for the money invested in not impressed at all.

We are a first time home buyer, and we had high expectations, and we were very excited with our first house! We moved on May 31, 2019, and for our surprise, a lot of things on the house were unfinished having knowledge before the closing day of such problems and details. Today is July 7th, 2019 and we continuos having sketchy stuff like the doors of the study room are unpainted, the paint details in the rest of the house are incomplete. We never received the set of the different paint colors used in our home to fix accidents that happened during the moving process. We asked M. for ...

Poor workmanship and a lack of attention to detail. Ceiling leaked, yard drainage issues, lost water pressure, poor caulking/weather stripping, many things not leveled/are crooked, cabinets now starting to crack, retaining walls cracking. The list goes on. I've only been in the home a couple of months. My high marks go to the responsiveness to issues as the builder in this area has been great to work with and really seems to care. He makes sure to get our issues resolved when we make contact. I was just hoping for better quality at this price point and not to have this many issues so early ...

Seller was great. I had lots of issues with the builder about not addressing issues I brought up during construction and prior to closing that were supposed to have been resolved. Whenever I reach out for an issue I got the feeling that he was irritated with my requests despite me having no irritation in paying the money for the house. This was a transaction - I pay and you deliver the goods as promised. Bloomfield did not keep their part as I am still dealing with repairs which is very inconveniencing as I have to adjust my work schedule. I have been very disappointed with this process ...

Please know that a Bloomfield Home is a tract home. They speak of the quality in their homes, but they do not deliver. Bloomfield Homes has no quality control. Bloomfield Homes - This is my 3rd and most expensive new build.

This is my 3rd and most expensive new build. Unfortunately, this has been my worst homebuying experience. First, my keys were given to me in a ziplock bag. Contractors did not clean home...in fact, carpets were stained from red dirt. My advice to other customers is to please make sure ALL repairs are completed prior to closing. This company only allows one (initial) walk through...they do not record recommended fixes. Approximately 80% of recommended repairs were NOT completed prior to closing. In less than 30 days, I have had 15+ contractors in and out of my home to fix different issues ...

We went with Bloomfield expecting a great buying experience, yet it became a nightmare for us and our realtor. Communication is horrible and the least important piece of the buying experience to them. There is no clarity between builder and buyer which raise many red flags. We love our home, but the struggle to get to this point will not be forgotten. Bloomfield also need to do a review of their sub-contractors very poor craftsmanship of their homes.

The actual purchasing process went very smoothly, just the occasional hiccup as one would expect in any process. The workmanship and materials, however, are terrible. Cabinet trim separations, rusted fireplace screen, exterior trim that wasn't painted, paint slopped onto the window frames, concrete that crumbles by hand and has mesh/cables coming out of it, no touch-up kit for paint, paint and texture cracked and flaking off of the walls in EVERY room, popouts in the driveway concrete, dried mortar all over the bricks, damaged volute (wooden first step) improperly installed, AC registers that ...

Sales person lies and uses selective language to help lock you into a contract. During the construction the lies won’t stop even if you present evidence to the staff. The quality of work needs much more supervision from the project manager. From broken tiles to areas where grout is was missing by to areas where tape and beading is is flaking to areas not taped. Glass shower enclosure glass was loose and scullion wasn’t applied yet project manager presumes this is how it should be.

Our home buying experience with Bloomfield has been the worst customer service experience of our lives. We were informed, mid covid (August 2020), that we would be closing 4-6 months after signing, that was not the case. We ended up closing almost 12 months after signing. The only time we got information of possible delays on our closing date were when we reached out to Jason, and his forecasts were always months off from the truth.
