We had a great experience buying the first house we've ever built from the ground up. We did not expect to be able to customize so much of the house but we did! More than just carpet and tile color. But we were able to move some bedroom door locations and pick out even the smallest details like grout color for the back splash. The team at Bloomfield stayed in contact with us every step of the way which was very important since we're building in the middle of the pandemic. They also allowed us to come by the site anytime throughout the building process. Whenever we had any questions or concerns, we they always addressed very expediently and they made sure we were satisfied. The one and only issue we had was the quality of the workmanship of the subcontractors that did the master bathroom tile. But since we're allowed to keep a as close an eye on it as we wanted, we were able to get it to a satisfactory level. I just would have liked for it to be great from the start. ... More

Jeff Smith, Jeff Jinkins and Kimberly Jankowski were all such a pleasure to work with on our first time home buying experience. All 3 were attentive and in tune to making things go as smoothly as possible.

The value of the home is amazing. Great choices and many standard options are considered upgrades with other builders. The process had its ups and downs. There were many moments where communication lacked as to delays during the build and what was to be expected. The workmanship disappoints a bit as it seems they rely to much on the warranty. A lot of small issues that add up that should have been caught before closing if they just slowed down and checked the work thoroughly. Even after the pre closing walk through where we pointed out issues, many of them were not corrected. Overall, happy with the home and the quality. Just slightly disappointed in how little pride seemed to be taken with the workmanship of the job. But would definitely recommend, due to value and how beautiful the homes are. ... More

Don't settle for entry level selections. UPGRADE! UPGRADE! UPGRADE! ask as many questions as possible. If you don't ask for it, they will not offer it.

I encountered Afew issues along the building process but Renee out my mind at ease by being very responsive,attentive and helping me out with last minute addition to home that was necessary I order for me to close on home . I’m so greatful for her! I still have several things that continue to come up with the home requiring repairs but so far repairs have been met.

Our builder Chris is the only bright spot for me. He is responsive and does what he can when there are issues. The dishwasher has not worked for close to a month now. The garage door broke and the company “TBS garage” is a farce. Initially left a message on their 24 hr emergency line and never got a response. I called again after the whole power outtage/water ordeal and person said that their system is down so they can’t schedule me for service and that they will call me back. Needless to say they never did call back. Feels like the product looks great on surface but filled with crap underneath. So based on experience and the service of the contractees and can safely say that the only one not cutting corner is the builder and everyone else contracted is only there because they are the cheapest. Bob was easy to work with and was always available if we had questions. Once our started being built, Chris Stone was an awesome on site Superintendent. He has been extremely helpful, even now that we’ve closed.

Poor workmanship. Slow response to issues. Submitted problems with sidewalk and never got a response. Do not trust the contractors to fix the repairs correctly. Would never purchase a Bloomfield home again.

I was very disappointed to see the house was not cleaned when I moved in. There were a no of issues which took almost four months to resolve. The drawers in the kitchen and bathroom are of very poor quality. I was also mad when the builder did not take into consideration my request for small modifications even though I was willing to pay extra.

I like how quick they are to respond when there is a correction that needs to be made.

Now that we have experienced a hard freeze in the house I’m very disappointed in the insulation and the lack of insulation on the water lines. We have been without power for 24hrs and the water lines are frozen this is with 18in of insulation. The window all have condensation on them on the inside!!! The master bath toilet light has burnt out!! Mind you we have lived here for 3 months. The thought process of running water lines in the attic only keeps them warm when you heat is working!!! As in heat rises but without heat they will and are frozen. The hot water pipes even have black foam insulation on them and they are still frozen. Other than that the house seems to be sufficient. The sales consultant, Mike, and builder, Mitchell, were very responsive, patient and understanding with any questions/concerns I had during the building process. The sales assistants, Roz and Stephanie, were also outstanding, They always had a positive and cheerful attitude. I had visited numerous communities and all the Bloomfield representatives treated me warmly and welcomed me even though they knew I was purchasing in another neighborhood. I feel Bloomfield employees work together as a team as I always felt comfortable wherever I visited.

Do not trust ANYTHING that the community manager at Star Ranch tells you. Get EVERYTHING in writing -- and I mean EVERYTHING, down to the very last, most minute detail. If not, you will be very upset when things don't go how you were told they would, and the community manager denies saying any of it. The homes are beautiful, when finished, but the mess that is made during construction is absurd. I can't even begin to tell you how much garbage, half-eaten food, beer cans and bottles, and whatnot we found throughout our house during the build process. When confronted about it, the community manager acts incredibly surprised, like this has never happened before (even though EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD SAYS IT HAPPENED TO THEM TOO!!!), and denies that it could in any way, shape, or form have been caused by Bloomfield employees or contractors working on behalf of Bloomfield. I am also fairly certain that the majority of that garbage is now laying directly under my sod, instead of being removed from the property. I have been picking up trash and rocks since we moved in, and there appears to be no end in sight. We were told there would be a gas water heater -- what was installed was an electric water heater. We were told afterward that this was because of venting issues (nowhere to vent it in this floor plan). Which is an outright lie, as the water heater is adjacent to an exterior wall. Additionally, the price of my home included the cost to run the gas line that was installed. If this floor plan required an electric water heater, Bloomfield would have known not to install a gas line specifically for the water heater. We were also told that the railing on our stairs was going to be an open wrought iron banister. We arrived to find a flat sheet of drywall (super decorative, I know). When we asked about it, we were told that that was a premium upgrade, and we could pay extra for it, and it would delay closing by a couple of weeks. All of this after specifically asking if that was going to be a standard part of this home (multiple times) and being re-assured that it was (multiple times). Then we had some flooring that was supposed to be re-configured before closing. Came in the day before closing, and the flooring had not been changed. Home inspector found some shotty roofing work, with improperly sealed roof penetrations and damaged shingles -- great quality work from their roofing contractor. I also had to spend some time adjusting all of the cabinet doors and hardware through the whole house once we got in, because EVERYTHING was crooked. My yard is not smooth or even, probably because of all of the rocks and trash under the sod. When I called Bloomfield corporate to address these issues as they were occurring, I was basically told I could take my earnest money and walk away from the purchase. They had no desire to work with me to resolve any of these issues. They know that in this market, if you walk away, someone else is just going to buy it anyway. Bloomfield does not care about you. Great experience! Donna and staff were awesome

We had a poor experience with this builder. We had many concerns with the way the work crews were treating our property including drinking alcohol on the work premise. Our concerns were never truly addressed and we were given answers stating that our GC barely had enough time to view our house 1 time a week if that due to the number of houses he had to oversee. We were also told that our site was not as bad as the other houses down the road. I feel like Bloomfield didn't properly oversee the construction of our home and with that we still have issues that we are trying to have resolved after moving in 4 months ago. ... More

Process was easy, disliked having to go to Southlake to close which was one hour away.

They do quality work and build beautiful homes

Renee was amazing and great to work with. House was rushed to finish at the end and therefore a lot of things were missed and quality was nowhere to be found. Still having several minor issues which are creating bigger issues like windows leaking and causing damage to wood.

Mike and Stephanie in the Oak Valley office are amazing to work with. We couldn't be happier with the home we bought or the buying experience. They made it smooth easy and efficient.
