How smoothly everything went. My experience with Centex Homes was excellent I love the layout of my home and the superintendent in the community is excellent. No complaints

During the house walkthrough is important to check everything with a magnifier glass, we still finding irregularities in the house, broken features. Repairs might take a while.

The entire process was easy and smooth.

Every time we have had a question throughout the buying process we have received a fast response. When doing our walkthrough, no "issue" we pointed out was too small, and fixes were done promptly.

Everyone involved and all aspects from start to finish, exceeded my expectations!

Some of the materials are lower in quality than some homes.

I bought a spacious new house but some details such as the bathrooms are all painted with flat paint, some scratches in the shower, which were not fixed, the creaking of the floors on the second floor were not fixed at all, they can be seen in the finish of the walls the folds of the drywall, the house is beautiful but it needs some details.

My experience to buying my first home was a breeze. Centex homes worked with me so well to insure that I got to my final step of getting my keys. I love the home and I’m enjoying its comfort. Def would recommend Centex for anyone who is in the process of buying a home.

The process of the house being built was great. Got constant updates as it was growing to become the amazing house I live in. As far as after move in with minor things that we submitted a repair ticket for online we have had very little response to get things taken care of (cabinets fixed, replacement fridge, drywall bubbling, etc.)

Cody was very responsive during the closing period and the month after. He helped with getting my ISP to expedite ground work that needed to be done.

I feel like once i signed for the home, responsiveness is nothing. All you wanted is money

The Supervisor Cody was great. He is the reason for 4 Stars. Took care of issues personally that were within his ability. As for the home build / design: The master shower: No shower doors, not even a shower rod. This is a 70's design shower. The cabinets in the kitchen stopping at the refrigerator and not continuing across the top to the wall. Door knobs, hinges, cabinet handles and hinges are Satin Nickel (for which I like), kitchen and bathroom / shower faucets along with the towel racks are chrome. The base boards are left cut a 90 degs not cut on 45 degs and chaulking used to hide this. Using flat paint throughout the house, including the kitchen. I know I am leaving small things out. With exception of the baseboards, the next owners will never know this is the way Centex built the house. Over all, the house is nice. However: the shower and the kitchen cabinet is the biggest design dissapointment. ... More

Very poor response to problems. I recommend that anyone purchasing a home, even brand new ones, hire their own inspector before signing any papers. Example foul odors.

We have had water leaking in our ceiling initially they sent someone out right away but now can’t reach them to fix the drywall damage. We have barely been in our new home for a month and have already had a few issues. Not very happy with them not getting back to us in a timely manner.

Leaks and pipe issues and its only been weeks. Cheap paint try to paint as soon as possible.

I submitted a list of things that needed to be corrected. Yes, even new houses have things like cracks that aren't filled in and sawed out rectangles in the wall. I still have a temporary stove in my place because the people who put in my permanent stove didn't remove it at the same time. Copper pipes are still sticking out of the ground. I don't want to put landscaping rock in my yard for fear the rock will puncture a line. The house itself is really nice though. I especially like the low HERS rating which means the house is insulated to save on heating and cooling bills.

All the home buying experience was going very good until the mortgage consultants started questioning and denying the approval literally LAST minute before closing. Of course, I had to meet certain income to qualify and to decrease the debt ratio. In order to get the approval for the house they ONLY told me I needed to pay off a credit card before closing, which I did a couple days prior closing. Since the beginning my income was good and it was approved, they only wanted me to pay off a credit card. Right after I paid off the credit card, the nightmare began. They said they couldn't approve the loan because my income wasn't enough and the only thing I could do in order to get the approval is that I needed a pay raise, which I did get it the same day they asked for it. Well, it wasn't enough for them, I got the pay raise, paid off the credit card but now they wanted me to get rid of my personal vehicle loan, which I also did before closing. They put me against the ropes in a matter of days before closing. They thought I wasn't gonna make it but I did. The sad thing is that they make you feel like everything is good and going because they schedule you to assist to the home orientations, they send emails about how good your process is going and emails or text messages congratulating you about the new house but in the meantime the loan hasn't been approved. For me is nonsense to do, send and say all that if you don't even have the approval yet. And on top of that, they have you struggling with all these demands in order to qualify last minute. The only good thing and good communication I had was from the community construction manager, such a great guy with a lot of knowledge. Fortunately, after providing and accomplishing everything they asked for, I got the approval. I had to reach out to the general manager though and also, he helped a lot and did way better job than the first mortgage consultant. Manager solved all this nonsense issues in a day. ... More

Houses are built quick to be sold quick. I wouldn’t rate quality & materials the best as we have been replacing items inside the home since move in.Structure of the home is a joke. Whole house vibrates every time the train goes by.

The more I walk around my brand new build the more disappointed I am that I purchased here. Size wise great, quality of work rushed and things that should look brand new look like it is a year old home.

The loan and approval process was super easy and as a first time home buyer this made it a better than expected experience. The inspector explained everything and was prompt when responding to emails regarding our home construction timeline. We’ve been in our home since summer of 2021 and can say we have piece of mind knowing we have a new home with new electrical, plumbing, and HVAC that are still covered under warranty. My biggest concerns are the upstairs sub floor joints are uneven with each other and can be felt on your feet through the carpet when walking upstairs. Dry wall is cracking at sheet rock joints right above our dinner table, as well as in lots of corners where the metal edging ends. There’s a big area in our living room that looks like it was patched but didn’t turn out so well. We didn’t even see it until we moved our furniture around and noticed it. Tile grout is already cracking and in the laundry room we can tell not enough mortar was applied to the outer tiles, which flex when walking on them. I can go on and on, these just bother me the most. I understand what builder grade materials are and know things will not be perfect as far as the cosmetic concerns go, but if the workmanship is not there from the beginning, I can’t trust that this home was built well and can not recommend this builder to anyone. Our home is great, but there are some issues with the quality. Drywall and paint were damaged and supposed to be repaired prior to moving in. We are 6 weeks later and still haven't heard back on when to expect them. We are still waiting for 4 trades to come and finish repairs that should have been done prior to closing. The warranty department takes weeks to get back to you. Just be aware that you will have to keep on them.
