Our salesman, Matt, was excellent and always responded to questions and requests. He was A+. However, what we didn't like is that the house did not come with ceiling fans with lights. We had no lighting in the 4 bedrooms, living room and office and had to buy 6 ceiling fans with lights. We also should have had a glass shower door installed in the master bathroom since it didn't have a tub. Otherwise, we love the house, the big pantry and the total appliance package.

Appointments for electricians made twice. Both times subcontractor failed to come to home to fix electrical issues. Third appointment is next week. No confidence electrician will show up. Centex warranty program is empty words thus far.

Not standing behind its own warranty

Centex's warranty customer service department is either incompetent or worse, not willing to stand behind its warranty. For the first two weeks after we moved in, the on-site project manager took care of any warranty issues we had. After we started having some electrical problems a month later, we were told now we have to call their customer service. We contacted their customer service to have an electrician come out and take a look. Centex told us they made an appointment for us. When the electrician never showed up I called that electric company but was unable to get hold of anyone. ...

We had quite a few issues, some that still have not been corrected and now more issues have come up, such as our drip system is not working correctly and I had to shut off the main water supply because even in the off position the system was still running. There are areas that need paint touched up and we were told we would be receiving a touch up paint kit to do this ourselves. There is a dent in one of our garage panels that has yet to be addressed and the pop outs on the exterior of the home are missing. Apparently this was missed during the building process.

Once moved in some issues with the build were brought to the attention of the builder. They promised to resolve the issues and so far have not. They left behind concrete shoe track marks in the driveway (all across) and can’t be bothered to call me back or respond to any service request. I haven’t been called, texted, or contacted in any way since the issues have been brought to their attention. On the website there is an option to place a request, which I have, with no response. There is no phone number to call.

Do you want a new home with blocked showers and bath tubs, get your home flooded on Day 1, with no accountability from builders, then go for Centex Homes. Plus, good luck dealing with rude and unprofessional regional manager Corey G for warranty issues in phoenix area. Worst, repairs didn’t get authorized and now on my own to get things fixed. It’s been one month since purchase and has been an absolute nightmare for me. Make a wise choice and Hope you don’t have to go through the same.

The experience was horrible. You are trapped using their contractors and companies for everything. Zero freedom to choose anything different. The divisions were unable to answer questions, pointed fingers at each other for issues and things that went wrong.
