Good, but lacking in the quality

Our home is great, but there are some issues with the quality. Drywall and paint were damaged and supposed to be repaired prior to moving in. We are 6 weeks later and still haven't heard back on when to expect them. We are still waiting for 4 trades to come and finish repairs that should have been done prior to closing. The warranty department takes weeks to get back to you. Just be aware that you will have to keep on them.

I wish we had the availability to wait on closing until all the issues were addressed but it would have taken too long. There have been a mix of bigger issues, minor mistakes and comical overlooks. Since the first rain storm, I’ve been vocal about insufficient drainage with no response. Exteriors issues with siding and windows. We found a roll of sheet vinyl tucked away with our ac unit. Daily reminders and concerns for a new build.

Centex and Pulte: you don’t get what you pay for
- Lindsey H.

I hate to use the word nightmare because I’ve certainly experienced worse. But you definitely don’t get what you pay for. Here I am a month I’m still waiting for someone to come fix the windows that won’t close, paint our outside veranda, install missing lights, and bring missing pieces to our blinds. Upgrades you pay for you have to remind them you paid for or you don’t get them: examples is crown molding, tray ceilings etch What we had to get fixed during the process was crazy: missing screens, attic unit missing pipe covers, shotty painting, wrong tile in kitchen, missing light over ...

The Quality Factor is Absent

In terms of the people I worked with, excellent. When it comes to the house, it has been issue after issue and disappointment after disappointment. The way we received our home at closing was a little disturbing to say the least. My wife and 2 kids had been in a 1bd apartment prior to so we were just happy to have space. I highly recommend paying a close eye to detail, trim work and the overall crew who is building. Corona bottles and cups of pee are not uncommon to find along with razor blades, filthy window seals and trash hidden behind your appliances. Interior and exterior paint job is a ...

Winding Brook San Antonio, craftsmanship and materials are just bad.

So many downs throughout the process. From floor plan changes (a wall that wasn’t supposed to be diagonal end up being) to multiple water leaks, one that owner found on a random visit to the house, that was able to stop it before it ruined the entire second floor with the over night water fountain. Overall the floor used is sub-par and below quality, been told is not linoleum and it’s a Vinyl roll but they are both the same and at the price point a plank would’ve been ok. Floor is peeling everywhere, is not resistant and wasn’t finish correctly in so many places. The cabinets needed ...

Centex Homes - Buying experience should have been exciting, sales rep was not

Buying experience should have been exciting, sales rep was not really supportive through purchase, field manager was terrible at overseeing the workmanship was at the level of expectation set, quality of materials is not exceptabke for new built home!! Many issues with workmanship, you have unqualified workers such as painters , cabinet installers, trim carpenters floor installers !! Every issue has been passed off as a vendor issue, no one takes accountability !! Would never recommend Centex to my family and friends

The PM Zack L was great and very attentive. The workman ship was not something worth over $300,000. I am disappointed in the quality of work and what passes as a new build.

Centex Homes - We have had a roller coaster of an experience, and I would not

We have had a roller coaster of an experience, and I would not recommend Centex. We had a terrible project manager, Jackson, for almost the entirety of the build, who never contacted us, never gave us updates, didn't put in any service requests when we noticed broken windows in the home, they tiled the wrong floors, etc. It was a nightmare. When I had to contact our account manager to get him to even call me, he sounded like I was bothering him. Three weeks before close, they switched us to a new PM, Clay, who was fantastic. They told us the other guy left and knew he was on his way out and ...

Pretty much everything in the house has an issue. The flooring, the AC, the front porch, the sprinkler, the garage door... I'm tired of asking them to come to fix these issues. For the price we paid, for the pain the mortgage company was; there should have been none!

The finish product looked like the process was rushed.

Overall I was rushed to see the house. I went by a few times on my own to see the discrepancies that caught my eye to see how the issue was being addressed. I find a few holes around, the staircase only has gloss on the entrance and the railing going up doesn’t look touched. The wood actually looks faded. The front door and back doors do not close properly. So overall I would say yes it looks beautiful at first glance but I would advise anyone to spend a while really looking at the details. Open and close the door yourselves so you can really see if they work properly.

Our first home experience

We thought it was going to be great experience buying our first home. Boy were we wrong. The roof structure had many boards that needed reinforcement as well as a hole in the roof barrier. Initial inspection passed until we had our own inspector come through and point out many issues. Builders urinated in our new bath tubs with no running water. A port-a-toilet was literally outside next to our house. Electrical fixtures were crooked throughout and had to be straightened. Front porch post is not at a right angle/squared to the house. One month in and nails/screws are backing out of the ...

The home is well made, but when it comes to the surrounding they rushed and did not do a complete job. There are many places where they rushed to get the home done. Also the outstide water draining systems are not to par.

Wall Leak
- Dawn B.

I had to do 3 final walk through this town house. My first one there was a leak in the living room wall that they had the wall torn apart by the sliding door when I arrived. The second walk through there was a wet spot on the wall were the original leak was. I was the person that pointed out that the wall was still leaking. I was told they would have to investigate the leak in the wall once again. When I came for the third walk through the problem (rusted coupling that was leaking) had been resolved. The carpet from the master bedroom on my first walk through was not properly secured in ...

It did take a little time to close, and at times the same paperwork that I was asked to submit was being asked to submit more than once either because Centex claimed they never received it or they needed it again. As for my reason to giving a 1 star on Responsiveness to issues is due to a couple of maintenance issues I have that was brought to their attention to 3 different people and I have yet to receive a callback, Email or anything on those maintenance issues that need to be fixed, going on week 4 now.
