There was a lack of communication, took 5 months longer than originally planned and had multiple AC leaks within the first week. It was a horrible experience overall.

we love the lot we picked out and the model home (Rosemont) we chose. when we purchased it was a pre-package deal for that model. so we assumed that all the material was ready to go for the construction since we could not make any changes. so we re on the assumption that the target closing date would be on schedule. did not happen. it took a month longer! our congratulation day with the field mgr was not the best experience either. we did not have a lot of time to inspect the house completely with him. he new about some things that needed to be fixed, prior to us meeting with him. we found ...

Centex Homes - We had quite a few issues, some that still have not been corrected

We had quite a few issues, some that still have not been corrected and now more issues have come up, such as our drip system is not working correctly and I had to shut off the main water supply because even in the off position the system was still running. There are areas that need paint touched up and we were told we would be receiving a touch up paint kit to do this ourselves. There is a dent in one of our garage panels that has yet to be addressed and the pop outs on the exterior of the home are missing. Apparently this was missed during the building process.

I recently purchased a new home at Carters Station. The home was not ready at closing. The home “celebration” was a disaster. Much of what was supposed to be fixed wasn’t and still hasn’t been corrected, even though I closed over a month ago. There are still serious issues with the ceilings, floor, dry wall, paint, nails left in the carpet, leaking facet, etc. The home was a mess upon move in, with TONS of sanded dry wall patching debris in the carpet, staples left on the stairs that my kids stepped on. Honest opinion- if I had to do it again, I would have bought elsewhere. There is ...

I bought a Centex home & closed on the house on August 9th, 2021. At the time of our walk through the front and rear trees were flat out dead. The sales rep told me in her own words she was going to have the trees replace so did the builder he too texted me and emailed me saying "Just go to closing and we will replace the two dead trees" today is September 12th, 2021 and the trees still have not bee replaced. The sales rep won't return my calls. The builder disappeared. These guys are a joke. Before you sign your final closing docs make sure you don't take any promises from their sales ...

The build needs to be monitored by the home buyer, daily, to insure the quality construction. Also, there is no concern for details or communication with the buyers and the build quality supervisors. Construction cost could lower if there were not so many errors made by the contractors, i.e., concrete torn out and re-poured, insulation replaced because of moisture damage, siding replacement and multiple industy best practices not followed.

The builder seems very knowledgeable, however, isn’t the best at following up nor communicating. I’ve expressed this on NUMEROUS encounters, however, no change. This type of frustration will prevent me from recommending this builder to anyone else.

I’ve had some good experiences and terrible with this company building my new home. I had my original sales guy not keep me informed on flooring changes but Trent took over and he did great. He explained things and really seamed to care. Devon the building manager was great at first but as soon as I signed my closing. He would say he would fix things that weren’t finished by closing and it would take him forever. I am still waiting on a shower rod for my guest room that was bent and dented since before my blue tape walk through still haven’t gotten it.

I have repeatedly had to request repairs on a sprinkler system that never worked right, broken heads, pipe busted in the ground leaking water, HUGE water bill, spoke with, emailed, wrote work orders 3X...and still NOT FIXED. I HAD TO PAY A $149 water bill this morning FOR JULY 15TH-AUGUST 15TH. The other orders, or complaints took forever to address as well. When we met before closing, we were assured that all items would be handled promptly. Someone keeps dropping the ball. It is hard to trust anyone at their word now.

I recently purchased what is now my second centex home, the first one had very minor issues, but this recent purchase, which we closed on 10/27/2023 has been a major disaster. We were in the home less then 48 hours when we found out the builder never installed the clothes washer correctly which led to a major water issue into the walls. We further found out when warranty came to look that the tile had never been fully completed under the washer which allowed the water to escape and go from the second level to the first as the water leaked for over 24 hours unnoticed behind the unit into the ...

Home did not include any window trim- specifically stool and apron. This looks very unfinished and leaves the homebuyer with a big cost to cover to make their home look finished. No gutters on home. Additional cost to homebuyer. FLAT white paint on walls. Horrible. One week in the home we have scuffs everywhere. Who puts flat paint on main walls? Thin walls, we so clearly hear the neighbors outside speaking in a normal volume. 8’ ceilings downstairs looks cheap. Front door HORRIBLY painted looks so ugly. Door is cheap lightweight quality. We will need to replace. Another ...

There seem to be several quality issues- Landscaping- the sod refuses to grow, it was installed already brown and dead and has not grown or turned green regardless of watering. I would say at least 1/4 of the lawn was not actual sod but just grass clippings placed on top of dirt. - piping leaked under the sinks. Needed to have plumber fix. Took a few days - electrical issues with the water heater. Took almost 2 weeks to rectify. - it also appears the doors in the house were not undercut- they are approx. 1 1/2”-2” above the finished floor- all the doors. - we were told the home ...
