Centex always places blame on suppliers and vendors, never taking responsibility. They do no hold suppliers and vendors accountable. Workmanship flaws and Centex is not concerned because they have a deposit and contract and move to the next potential buyer.

This had to be one of the worst experiences I have gone through. I can see the seams and tape of almost all the drywall on the walls and ceilings, very amateur and not quality. I wouldn’t expect this from a “quality home builder”. Our project manager was horrible, made lists for him to correct and nothing got done. Now 4 weeks after closing I’m having to follow up weekly with no response. The entire process was a horrible experience. We will never use Pulte/Centex again. Misinformation and lack of communication was an issue throughout the process. Even to the point they lied about the inspectors appointments which resulted in delays in closing, failed to disclose critical repairs need day before closing, construction manager did not even do a final walk through - before or after closing. This has been the most challenging and most unprofessional process I have gone through. Let me start with the workmanship; our house is still being worked on because of the awful job done throughout the house. Our cabinets, countertops, stove, drywall, restrooms, and porch needs to be fixed. The construction manager did an awful job making sure things were done correctly. Do not do mail-away closing. They do not fix any issues that were found during the walk through as promised but passed them to the warranty team. Some doors do not close tight, you can see gaps between door and frame. Dry wall issues, molding, painting, caulking, etc...We are still waiting for the CCM to schedule the people to fix the issues. We are thinking to record the issues and upload to our youtube channel afterward if they break their promises again!

First of all, the salesman wanted us to put in the 60 thousand dollars for the prime package which supposedly was the best washer and dryer, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. This centex builder is not Upto the mark. They are building the homes to sell it fast. They are not looking for the quality of the house. The engineers working for centex are not professionally qualified and they mostly don’t know how to build the house but they are doing that. They are asking the buyer to close the house without completing the home and the buyer mostly don’t know about few things and they are rush to close because of the time limits.

Would Not Recommend Pulte/Centex to Anyone

Terrible, terrible buying experience. Builder purposely delayed close because we chose to use a third party lender. We were homeless living in an extended stay hotel with our pets for weeks because of their intentional delays. Pulte Mortgage was EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE in trying to keep us from going elsewhere. The “incentives” they offer buyers are eaten up by their ridiculously high fees, so you actually net zero dollars towards the purchase. The quality of craftmanship in our brand new house is absolutely horrible. The paint and drywall looks like an eight year old did it. Every room has a punch list of touch ups and fixes that my wife and I are still going through and fixing. Centex and Pulte obviously do not care in the least bit in the quality of contractors they hire throughout the building process. My biggest worry is the quality and sustainability of everything you can't see. Structural integrity, wiring, A/C.....etc. Bottom line, a lot of money for a horrible experience and even worse quality.

While I don't believe the house is going to fall down around us, the finishing touches were very poor. They were in a rush to get us closed. Paint on the floors and splattered on the cabinets. Problems with our plumbing. The trim around the roof is bent. Stickers left on windows, trash left in the yard with the seed and sod just put on top of it, dirt and mud left on the outside windows and sides. We closed on the 29th March, My wife and I walked into a house that had holes in the ceiling, holes in the walls, all floors where dirty and had paint overspray on every part of the house. This was absolutely the worst home buying experience. Something that was supposed to be a fun experience is a living nightmare. During multiple inspections and walks many issues were pointed out to our Field manager and he either just didn’t give a crap or didn’t know what he was doing. BAD for business. Outstanding issues, months after closing.

It’s been two months after closing and issues are still being discovered in addition to NOT being initially completed.
