The Home The house itself is great construction and we love our home. There were many issues that were not resolved until after closing but several (stained carpet, scratched tubs, missing kitchen cabinet) were resolved quickly. We were informed throughout the building phase as to how the construction was coming but we're not informed well enough to where when our closing date came we were told it had to be pushed back another week. It was always "we are coming along great, man" when it really wasn't. Our apartment lease was about to expire and we had three days between closing and our lease expiring to move. Would have been better that we were told sooner about the closing date being pushed back. Centex did compromise and allow us in the house before closing to paint given our time crunch. Overall, we have had no problems with the quality of the home. Weather Agreement Fixes and Sod When we closed there were still several issues to be fixed and we closed in December, so no sod. It took two months for our last kitchen cabinet to be installed and even then there was a missing part which took another three months for someone to call me to set up a time to come install. We still do not have a shelf in a bedroom closet mounted and it has been five months since closing. We only need a single wall mount. As for the sod, we were repeatedly told by the builder that our sod would be put in first. He told our neighbor and us both that since we moved into the new construction area first, we would get sod first. Since he began sodding the new homes 2-3 weeks ago, we have not gotten our sod. Every other house in our street, including homes that have not closed have sod. Our neighbors and us both have backyard fences, which nobody else has, and we are essentially being punished because of it. The builder wants to take out a 6ft section of both our fences in order to use machines to lay the sod. He knew we were building fences and he said they can lay it by hand. We are repeatedly told that we will be getting sod "this week" and it never happens. Our neighbors were told this same thing this week and they have drug their feet and not given us our sod to the point where they can't give us our sod because rain is coming. My family was right, once you close on your house, it's like the builder doesn't even know you. I researched many companies before I settled on Centex and I thought they would be different when it came to trust. Had a great experience from start to finish! My project manager quit right after I closed, so some of the items I was promised feel on deaf ears. Other than that I lOVE my house!

We have been really pleased with our new home. We are still having issue with AT&T being able to connect our home to their service which was suppose to be installed in March. As this is a service issue I would like to make sure that all new homes indeed have access to internet and cable on completion expecially in the current stay at home environment. Luckily we have unlimited data on our cell phone provider and have been able to teether our devices, but this is not overall acceptable.

Constant electrical trips of water heater. Plumbing mixed up with outside faucet and kitchen sink. Grass in front yard sunk after rain.

Love my home. Took a few times to make it the way I like it. Very happy with my new builder, Alex.

I was greatly disappointed with Centex. While the models of homes I saw seemed built to standard and maximum code, I quickly discovered this to be false. In the Month of November when I arrived to ensure the framing, and roughed in plumbing and electrical were to code I discovered that Centex hires subpar “contractors” who disregard building safety code. Upon my inspection I’ve found broken beams that the plumbers left compromising the structure of my home. The building manager at the time was Tim and I was disturbed to learn that he wasn’t planning on replacing the beams if I hadn’t discovered them. Once the broken beams were replaced, I moved on to the exterior sheathing of the house. It was to my dismay that I discovered 30 nail holes where the “framers” missed the beam. Once again Tim was not going to caulk these holes in order to prevent water infiltration into my home had I not insisted this be done. Any quality professional in the trade would know this a non-negotiable fix. My “final” walk thru was January 31st 2020. At the beginning of the walk I discovered the vinyl siding was wavy and bubbled. When I pointed this out to Tom the new building manager his response was “there is nothing I can do about that it’s the nature of siding.” This comment further solidified that Centex does not value industry standards and quality building. During the interior walk I discovered that the main wall in the great room was so bowed in the middle that when I placed a level on it I was able to rock it back and forth. When I showed Tom this, he used what would be his now standard line “there is nothing I can do about that.” I explained to him that I would not close on the house until everything was perfect. He quickly back peddled and said “I’ll talk to my boss.” During my walk of the kitchen I found that “contractors” drilled straight thru cabinet with a screw. I told Tom about this and he said “that’s how Centex does it.” I reiterated that I am not closing on the house until it is perfect. He once again said “I’ll speak with my boss.” As you can see my overall experience with Centex was poor and I would highly recommend new home buyers to avoid them. There is glimmer of hope, while the building standards were nonexistent, I must give recognition to our sales Rep Ivey. Ivey was extremely helpful and professional throughout the entire process. All the doors in my house need to have tops and bottoms sanded and painted. The whole interior and out side need to be repainted.(they came in and did touch ups -- you can see the difference) Several areas still need chaulking. The windows I can not open or lock once I get them back down. At bottom of Patio door missing plaster. Shower rod in 2nd bath was not installed correctly. Front door needs to be adjusted so no light or bugs are coming in. Still finding wood shavings in cupboards as I clean and store things.

Make sure everything is correct before closing. Sod, plants, paint, blinds,floors, ect

Our home was everything my boyfriend and I were looking for! We are so excited to start this next chapter in our Centex home!

Prior to my walkthrough I had an inspection done of the home. During my walkthrough I gave that report and reported some other problems with the home. I was told everything would be fixed, that did not happen. After I moved in I noticed several more things . There were flaws in the workmanship done around the home. Overspray of paint, construction debri under appliances, debri on top of kitchen cabinet, unfinished caulking around several of the baseboards and door trims, nail holes, hole in wall, nicks in doors and frame, unfinished paint spots, debri in window seals, finger prints on walls and closets, crooked bathroom drawer, damaged kitchen cabinets, unfinished drywall in closets, toilet piping not seated to the wall, light fixture in bathroom not attached properly, concrete rocks all around landscaping.....many issuers with my home and .the craftsmanship that was done to my home looks rushed. ... Good buy

We had a great experience with Centex. Abel and Pam were excellent. They kept us informed about everything. We went to visit almost every week and they where always there to answer any questions.

Like any new build the house was near perfect, with a few minor issues (two pieces of hardwood not set correctly, garage door dented, minor plaster spots that needed cleaning). I requested them fixed and had them all handled within a week of notifying them. Minor stuff like that is almost unavoidable as quickly and they build these houses. So far very happy with the home and with the response from the few minor issues I submitted to be repaired. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars for the whole home buying experience is because I went through Pulte mortgage, and sadly it was just issue after issue with the entire process for no reason at all. ... Everything is OK except landscaping. The landscaping contractor did a terrible job ! There are a lot of deep areas and many many of pot holes in the yard ! The whole neighborhood has the same issue ! Centex should send the landscaping team to redo what they did not perform right at the first time, people might sue Centex when they get hurt by stepping in these pot holes ! Please fix this problem for everyone in this community.

The house is a beautiful house and we got it for a great price, but there are some things that I have issues with. Some of the walls are crooked. We had been told we would get a paint kit when we closed to touch up minor blemishes, but yet again day after day we are let down. The fininacial portion of the house was very smooth. No issues there.

It was an overall good experience. The time line to completion was achieved. Happy with the home.

We purchased an already built home several months ago and we were surprised at all of the features our house hand and the price it cost. Centex was easy to work with and they always responded quickly from the sales team to the mortgage company. Our house is perfect.

They are gorgeous houses but you can tell quite easily the cheap craftmanship. More importantly the building process is crazy and their workers are not reallly helpful in showing your what options you have. The builder we worked with was the only positive experience of centex.

Great builder, but just take your time in the selection process from picking your lot, to the elevation to the interior and exterior options as it can become VERY overwhelming. You will be happy with the end result if you do this.
