Is being good experienced

2 months in and have had more problems than anticipated with a new build. Cabinet doors, outside stonework pieces broken off, etc. You can see where they took easier routes (cheaper).

Kimberly was great! She gave us a tour of model homes. Listened to what we were looking for. Kimberly helped us find our new home. Holden made sure everything was perfect prior to moving in. He want above and beyond our expectations.

Sales agent warm, sincere and honest as well as accessible. Quality great and the included items amazing - all appliances (ALL!), fully fenced, 6 station sprinkler system, Ring doorbell, pre-wired fan fixtures, oversize garage, full lawn, shrubs and trees on the lot. Before buying here we looked extensively at new homes from Waco to Seguin, TX and saw no communities offering as much as Centex.Mavera, Conroe.We are impressed and satisfied.

The builder was easy to work with. No issues or delays.

All the home buying experience was going very good until the mortgage consultants started questioning and denying the approval literally LAST minute before closing. Of course, I had to meet certain income to qualify and to decrease the debt ratio. In order to get the approval for the house they ONLY told me I needed to pay off a credit card before closing, which I did a couple days prior closing. Since the beginning my income was good and it was approved, they only wanted me to pay off a credit card. Right after I paid off the credit card, the nightmare began. They said they couldn't approve the loan because my income wasn't enough and the only thing I could do in order to get the approval is that I needed a pay raise, which I did get it the same day they asked for it. Well, it wasn't enough for them, I got the pay raise, paid off the credit card but now they wanted me to get rid of my personal vehicle loan, which I also did before closing. They put me against the ropes in a matter of days before closing. They thought I wasn't gonna make it but I did. The sad thing is that they make you feel like everything is good and going because they schedule you to assist to the home orientations, they send emails about how good your process is going and emails or text messages congratulating you about the new house but in the meantime the loan hasn't been approved. For me is nonsense to do, send and say all that if you don't even have the approval yet. And on top of that, they have you struggling with all these demands in order to qualify last minute. The only good thing and good communication I had was from the community construction manager, such a great guy with a lot of knowledge. Fortunately, after providing and accomplishing everything they asked for, I got the approval. I had to reach out to the general manager though and also, he helped a lot and did way better job than the first mortgage consultant. Manager solved all this nonsense issues in a day. ... More

Decided to have a house built and was eager to be able to watch its progress. Started noticing problems when the framing was done with a lot of splits in some of the 2x4s. I was told they were not structural and where they were, they just added a second one next to it. Roofing was subcontracted out to another company who blatantly put it on wrong. This was brought up to them and I was told it was in the manual and approved. I am now having to deal with a leaking roof 52 days after closing. Besides that the insulation and drywall was good with the exception that it took almost 10 weeks to complete putting the whole build a month behind schedule. Most of the plumbing used was cheap flex tube and all A/C vents were also flex. I guess it was a good thing considering the project manager managed to flood the bathroom and the flex A/C vent routed half of the water to the basement. Other than that, I have had random small things like different door locks put on the wrong doors, outside dryer vent wasn’t even attached to the house, etc. that I have had to fix or get fixed. There is a lot of attention to detail that gets left off and hinders the quality of the build. The building experience with Centex was a very easy and positive experience. We love our home and any cosmetic questions we had at pre close and even after close we had quick assistance. We are very happy with our home and appreciate the work provided by the entire Centex team.

Centex home are not bad. But I wiould love more quality products and adding more fixtures to make it sand out the more.

Throughout the experience my contractor manager kept me informed with the process.

It was not times consuming and that’s what I needed.

Our house is great. Centex probably tries to give us a great product but I could give a couple of advices: - Read everything. Yes it will take a lot of time, but you need to do it. - Hire an external inspector. The external inspection's report should have a lot of pictures (my inspection was great). - You must do an inspection by yourself. The inspector is a human been and can make mistakes. In my case, he didn't notice something that I did. - Do not sign until the house has no issues. We found some issues with the house (no big problems, most of them just details),so the closing date was reschedule. During the final walkthrough I checked all the details to be solved in a rush, but I wasn't 100% agree with one solution. When we moved to our new house, that "solution" didn't work as we expected and now I am waiting for the supplier to solve the situation (little A/C adjustment). - When you receive your keys, the fist think to do (after the joy), verify the timer (splinkler system) if you have it already installed. I didn't do it. I week after we moved, I noticed that our grass was really bad (overwatering). Probably it is my bad because I should be aware of that since the beginning. Our closing date was almost 1 month after the grass was planted, we moved 1 week after the closing date, I checked the timer 1 week after we moved. The times for watering were excessive (20 minutes in some areas, everyday) and that was causing the grass begins to decompose. I am trying to solve that problem. ... More

Everything has been pretty simple and the repair/fix process has been easy too!

We had a great home buying experience with Centex. Quality building and we feel safe in the event of a storm here in SWFL. However, our best experience has been the after care given by Keith. He’s super attentive, action-oriented and responsive. We know we can trust and count on him to really care about our needs and concerns.

Some parts of experience were OK. Others leave much to desired.

The homebuying experience was pretty easy overall. Steve in the sales office was great, all of the people I came in contact with in the finance and mortgage department were amazing, and Travis, who was the person that took me through my home orientation has been absolutely amazing and responsive. There are a few things in the home that I would like to change. Because I did not have the option to select the items, I did end up with a refrigerator that I’m not crazy about, but I plan on changing that as well as changing the electric stove to a gas stove. I’m really settling in nicely in my home and continue to get support from Travis when things come up. I would definitely buy from Centex again. The team has been amazing. ... More

I just purchased a home at Mavera community. Haven't had the experience of living in it yet. Mainly choice it for the beautiful nice atmosphere, and amenities it has to offer. My experience purchasing this house wouldn't have been great if it wasn't for the dedication and hard work of the warranty and construction team. Christopher and especial kudos to Coleman! Very knowledgeable, provided valuable information. Communicate effectively. Was very supportive, patient, caring and kind. Always willing to help resolve any issues or concerns I had with the house.
