Buying experience fine, but need to focus on finer details

Overall, it was a good buying experience and up to this point the core structure/ home appears good but as we have settled in we have notice a lot of little things that your eyes aren't drawn to during walk throughs. Additionally, we continually voiced concern about the lawn and didn't get it fixed before hand, I think they honestly used a terrible and cheap lawn provider who didn't do a good job. Overall, felt the price was too high but that's probably a sign of the market and times. They were able to offer a last minute discount but in my opinion it was still overpriced from there but ...

We had a great experience. I wish the quality of workmanship was better. The field manager, Brandon, has been attentive and helpful through the whole process.

Still have pending items that weren't completed at closing.

Still have pending items that weren't completed at closing. Have scheduled contractors but no one ever shows up. The one contractor that did show up didn't call ahead and so we werent ready for them that day. Have been changed to 3 different reps in 1 month. This is a bit insane, slightly unethical, and I wish someone would step up and take responsibility for the fact that our supervisor was fired the week we closed, we have unfinished work all over, and no one has been a leader to follow through with the commitment to complete these items in a few weeks.

The home buying experience went well but the issues highlighted in my engineer’s pre closing inspection were not all addressed when we were told that they had been corrected, When we did the post closing walk through the condition of the floors was disgusting also the windows had not been cleaned. My summation is Centex could and should pay more attention to the condition of the home before turning it over to the purchaser this experience has not given us any faith in anything a Centex representative says.

The sales and closing team were a breeze to work with and provided great value to the experience. Some issues with the process include a lack of flexibility for any options (such as using alternative light switches), and issues that were noticed and pointed out during the construction process not being acknowledged until final walk through, (a framing issue would have been better to fix when noticed before hanging sheetrock so all the texture matches). And 6 weeks after the closing there are still outstanding issues now in warranty that have yet to be resolved. That being said, the floor ...

Recently I moved to Centex home at WinnRidge. The home buying process was smooth but the quality of the house is not up to the mark. The carpet is very thin and everywhere nails are there. Asked to fix the same but the manager told if they fix the nails it will remove the warranty. Really not happy with the process and product quality.

Overall the experience was ok. Quality of the materials used was poor. Also the whole house inside was painted with a flat paint not a semi gloss. We had to repaint the whole house. We have been in the house a little over a month and the fence is falling apart. Not good

30 days after you move, everything changes. There may still be things to fix but you are forgotten about. Everyone becomes less responsive. Until you get nothing. I not talking 3-6 months. I’m talking 31-45 days.

The Supervisor Cody was great. He is the reason for 4 Stars. Took care of issues personally that were within his ability. As for the home build / design: The master shower: No shower doors, not even a shower rod. This is a 70's design shower. The cabinets in the kitchen stopping at the refrigerator and not continuing across the top to the wall. Door knobs, hinges, cabinet handles and hinges are Satin Nickel (for which I like), kitchen and bathroom / shower faucets along with the towel racks are chrome. The base boards are left cut a 90 degs not cut on 45 degs and chaulking used to hide ...

Everything is on their terms when it comes to options, deadlines, etc. The whole process is definitely in favor of the seller. I felt they rushed the closing about a week or two before the house was completely ready for move in. Overall I like my new home. There were just a few bumps along they way I would have rather done without.

Customer service and site managers where great! Some of the contractors could have done better. They seemed to be in a hurry, thus leaving items incorrectly done.

You can expect customer service and site managers to be great, but some of the contractors are out to make the most they can in as little time as they can. Things will have to be redone or fixed . We still have things that need to be redone or fixed properly.

Customer Service is awesome but the subcontractors work is subpar. (1) The sod was laid in a very sloppy manner, there are several sizes of gaps between patches. Now I have to pay to properly re-sod their sloppiness. (2) The front door was not properly sealed, you can see daylight when closed, you can feel the draft and that is after it was supposed to be fixed. (3) I have a problem with two of the breakers, they turn off for no reason and after two months I am still waiting for a call back from the warranty department. These are the things that give me buyers remorse because the customer ...

Enjoy the house, not some of the people involved

We realize that a newly built house (fast tracked) there are always some problems which are tracked through a punch out list. This is ongoing, as it should be. Several individuals during the purchase of the property have been extremely helpful, and at times now are still a dependable resource. This is not our first house purchase and we expected a more transparent information process, deficiencies are noted and sent up through the proper channels. The problem is the lack of communication from the Project Manager; deficiencies are noted and the Myrtle Beach office tracks and sends a follow ...

The sales process was outstanding and both the sales representative and construction manager were friendly, efficient and responsive. I love the home and the neighborhood. The customer service after the sale has been anything but good. I had a major plumbing issue almost immediately after move in. My yard was dug up and almost 3 weeks later it is still a wreck and I can't get anyone from the customer service department to communicate with me as to when the landscaping will be repaired.

Overall nice home, but in the end the home was rushed so the builder could meet the closing date, I feel that a lot of details was missed and skipped because of the rushing to finish toward the end. We would have been happy to move back the closing date in order to have it done correctly. There are several things were are doing ourselves because the response to issues has been non existent.

Wrong drain pan broke washing machine, dishwasher leaked, one toilet wobbled, front door and garage door not seated properly, sliding door lock did not work, screens for slider were missing, one cabinet installed 3/4” lower than the others, gap in base molding between two cabinets, hall bathtub drain slow and last but not least-major drainage issue required three plumbers to be resolved.

We are pretty happy with our house, but it had several issues that needed to be fixed that shouldn’t have been missed. Once issue they attempted to fix, but didn’t. Had to wait almost a month for them to try and fix again. Something finishes are just not as good as they should be. Love the neighborhood, overall wouldn’t have done any different.
