Had a lot of things wrong and messed up that had to be fixed prior to moving in. Was not told the truth about how much monthly payments were going to be. Some of the people were pushy and impatient when we were trying to decide whether or not to buy.

Horrible customer service with construction manager JOE.

I don't know I could recommend Centex in good faith if someone were to ask. I am going to be getting another home in the area soon for myself and am not considering another Centex proiperty.

We were really excited to get into our new home as it was really beautiful and had the space and many upgrades we were looking for. However, upon move-in about a month ago, we began to notice and experience many issues and we have now started to worry about the quality of the build and the customer service when there are issues. We noted two major concerns during our final walk through, and only one issue has been fixed to date. We haven't heard anything or a timeline on when the other issue will addressed. Additionally, after closing we came in to find drywall paint and dark stain in several spots on our brand new carpet from some of the issues we had asked to be repaired prior to closing - no update on this and what, if anything, will be done. Carpet and padding already worn down on the stairs because carpet was installed too early. Also, I ran my dishwasher one time after moving in - it was fine. Second time I went to start it, I received an error code and it never worked again. Per the Whirlpool warranty with Pulte, I contacted the service folks and it took 2 weeks before a service person was available to come out. When they did, he said the dishwasher has a bad panel and the panel needs completely replaced. Still waiting for parts to arrive so they can fix (and hopefully it does actually fix it). I asked for a new one, as it is clearly a lemon - no response. It has been almost a month now that I have not had a dishwasher in a brand new house with a family of four. Additionally, our irrigation system has not run since we moved in and no one has responded to our concern about this. Our sod is brown, and there are tons of tall weeds growing in the grass. Additionally, the grout is already cracked in the upstairs bathroom, the doorbell does not ring properly, we are missing screens on some of the windows that should have them - just to name a few issues. Though we did get a lot of house for a reasonable price, I am glad we didn't pay more because the quality is just not there and neither is the service. Also, don't rely on information provided to you about the home on paper alone. We did a quick sale and during the process we were told our home had a 4 foot garage extension, we signed paperwork with our offer that showed it was included and then we discovered it did not actually have this option, which was one of the reasons we had made an offer on the home. If you are thinking about buying, I would encourage you to visit in person and ask lots of questions and verify things (especially sizing of rooms, garages, etc) yourself. If all of the issues were addressed and in a timely fashion, I may feel differently - but as a brand new home buyer, it's apparent that the company puts up so many homes, and right on top of one another, and their focus is quantity/making money. I haven't experienced that they care about quality and good workmanship. I don't think they care if their buyers are happy after move-in.... they are on to the next home and sale. The more I walk around my brand new build the more disappointed I am that I purchased here. Size wise great, quality of work rushed and things that should look brand new look like it is a year old home.

We are from the north and used to our homes being built to a higher standard.

First, I'd like to say that Harrison came into to mess that should have been addressed before we moved in. There were many items that were not addressed before we moved in. We have for the last 4 weeks been dealing with one issue after another. Just to recap since we moved in the siding removed from both sides of the house. Kitchen side due to a bow in the wall. Bedroom side due to the AC unit 220 installed on the opposite side of the AC unit. Note I requested this be fixed before we moved in. I was told the AC unit is now moved to the side of the house where the 220 is. What I was not told was now you have a copper line wrapped around your house. If this wasn't bad enough we turn on the AC when we moved in and it wasn't working. We have have Smith heating and AC come out and it wasn't even finished being installed. Now the bow in the kitchen wall the drywall was taken off and bow was fixed. The wall in turn was refinished. Reinstalled the back splash and the wall was still bowed. So, the wall is taken apart again with more drywall removed & redone again. The wall is still not perfect but we have had enough. We had to have an electrician come out twice as now all the outlets on the kitchen wall are too far back to put the faceplates on. Also, the wall is so bowed that the trim at the bottom of the cabinet will not cover the opening. If we are not already upset we hire someone to install a standard storm door. The installer proceed to show me how crooked the opening is. The storm door cannot be installed at its current state. As I am looking at the opening there is also a substantial bow inside the house by the opening of the door. The more we look at the house it is obvious there is lack of any quality control or pride in building our house. The $408, 000 we paid for this house seems to be a bad investment. Whoever is reading this I would hope will contact us before we decide to contact someone outside your organization legally. Note my rating we generous even after all we have been going through. In the first month of moving in we're finding issues with electrical, internal structure etc. The door frames are cracking up. The seam cracks are showing on the walls within a month. Our previous house was also a new construction and we did not face those issues.

Overall buying and closing process fantastic. But low quality of workmanship.

The home buying process with Centex has been only slightly better than buying a pig in a poke. Our closing date was moved up by the builder, presumably to enhance their month end figures. This resulted in the house not being exactly ready. Much of the finishing was sloppily completed. This includes: doors hung without being level, crooked electrical outlets, painting overspray, inconsistent painting, closet framework not being caulked and painted, drier vent not being attached, noticeable gaps between the front door and its frame, to name a few. Some of this was fixed before closing, some was promised to be fixed between 2nd walk through and closing, some we are still waiting to be fixed over a month (see further down in the review). Centex’s title company was unprepared for our closing as they had many of our documents incorrect, and then had the audacity to blame us for their error. Using the centex system to get repairs completed has been difficult. First, they give you the link you need to use at closing, however this link doesn’t work, it takes you to an error page. Once you do your own research to find the correct page you then submit tickets that may or may not get addressed, which leads to having to resubmit the same requests repeatedly. Read your HOA docs very carefully! While they say outside maintenance is included in the HOA fee, they only mean that “some” outside maintenance is included. To name just one thing. At the end of the day we are happy with our new home, but the amount of effort on our and our realtor’s parts to get here has been exhausting. And it will take many more emails and service request tickets to have the home finished the way it should have been prior to closing. ... More

Grout, paint, drywall taping, cabinet installation and general cleanliness are just awful. I am so disappointed I am shocked. Friends have Pulte homes and were top notch. Mine is just awful. No pride of workmanship and no supervision of work done. My tubs are not usable due to gaps, bubbles and voids in caulking around tubs. And this is after it was pointed out during walkthrough. Cabinets were drilled with visible holes where handles are mounted. Tile grout is uneven and there are dozens of splotches of grout on tiles. Carpet is dirty and has drywall powder and even white crunchy stains in it from work being done after installing carpet. Every day I wake up to find yet another thing wrong. I have owned 2 prior new homes from lesser builders and never had issues like these. Not happy! ... More

Four key areas to review: 1) The sales experience was good, the sales guy was knowleadgeable and fair. 2) The mortgage approval was smooth, no issues, super fast. 3) The construction of the house was a big issue. I hired an inspector to do an inspection and it showed several issues that the construction manager did not want to accept. After a few days of stress and after postponing the closing day, the inspector went back and demonstrated that he was right. The Construction Manager then needed to act and resolve the issues in question. This could have been avoided, it created a lot of stress. As for the title company, I liked the work they did. There was a mistake somewhere in the process as the title was made on my name and not on mine and my wife's name, but not sure if the title company should be blamed for this. Overall a good home for the price. However, have seen better builds from different builders with a little higher quality for the same price.

The buying process was great and easy but after living in the home for a month and seeing how bad the workmanship is. Tickets need to be opened for everything. I am disappointed.

The walls are made from wood therefore you can hear any type of noise. I am used to brick walls and more pricacy.

Initially buying the property was nice and everyone was accommodating. But when the paperwork started and money was exchanged, the people on the neighborhood staffing were not attentive and negligent. My wife and I were lied to about a few things and documents were created without consent. Schedules were messed with and we were told it was our fault. But after it was all said and done, none of it was major and we love the house we are in for the most part. The neighborhood is nice and accommodating, the Centex helpline is quick to act and helpful.

The quality of the inside finish wasn’t good. There were lots of flaws in the drywall (eg nail holes, gouges, mortar spatters, rums in the paint etc). The doors were hung with large gaps on the bottom of the frames. The dryer vent wasn’t connected and the dryer vent on the roof was plugged because a screen was left on the vent by the roofers. The dishwasher drain wasn’t connected properly and caused damage to the cabinets. There are dents on the refrigerator, dryer and oven. The coaxial cable from the outside of the house to the inside was defective. There is a dead tree by the driveway that was dead long before we closed (it still hasn’t been replaced). There is a swale behind our rear fence that is a mosquito breeding, unsightly mess. ... More

Centex's warranty customer service department is either incompetent or worse, not willing to stand behind its warranty. For the first two weeks after we moved in, the on-site project manager took care of any warranty issues we had. After we started having some electrical problems a month later, we were told now we have to call their customer service. We contacted their customer service to have an electrician come out and take a look. Centex told us they made an appointment for us. When the electrician never showed up I called that electric company but was unable to get hold of anyone. I called back Centex and they told me they made an appointment with a wrong electric company. After that, Centex made another appointment, this time with a different electric company. Guess what? They didn't show up either. When I called that electric company to find out why nobody showed up, they had no idea what I was talking about. I don't know if Centex warranty customer service is doing this intentionally, so they don't have to stand behind its warranty or they are just plain incompetent. Our home buying experience was nothing more than average. I do not feel that Centex does anything over and beyond. We have had several complaints about our home since we moved in, none of which have been addressed. I absolutely would go with a different builder in the future. We have a home, so that’s a plus. But, there is nothing special about this builder. If you are looking to be mediocre, you are doing great.

Warranty coverage for pulte homes really poor. They are doing temporary job during warranty time period. Worst customer care services.

Check the quality of the home. 30 days in and we have several issues that are all quality related. For the money our expected value isn’t there. Based on our personal experience I’d say the builder’s reputation does not match up with what we are experiencing. In general we are dissatisfied.

The experience has been bad thus far. However, I have been ghosted after having some issues with the extended warranty on couple of my appliances. Additionally, I have complained about the standing water within my yard, which is still under warranty I must had, but still no one had made the effort to come and get this situated. I am getting the sense that they are doing as much as they can to not honor this warranty.

No response to fix issues

I chose a newly constructed home over a fixer upper, because I did not want to deal with the workmen and hassle of sourcing materials etc, however it feels like a fixer upper, the finish is very poor. the floor is dull, the bathroom panels are not sealed and have gaps, I am worried water is going to seeped thru the gaps and I am going to have mold. the accessories are cheap and outdated, the front door at least could have a door handle instead of the round doorknob. the bedroom doors have closet doorknobs and cannot lock, the toilet seats and cover are heavy, I have not seen those heavy toilets and round knobs in a very long time, no bathroom windows in 2022. back door the space for the dead bolt is not chiseled out properly, some base board are not corked fully, there was grout, paint and dirty spots all over the floors and walls plugs are sealed and flat to the walls, the light switches are dated. the master bathroom could take a double sink, could have left an open space under the staircase. pantry too small and wire shelves way too narrow. The community could use a pool especially because it gets so hot during the summer and a play ground would have been nice. we could have gotten ceiling fans. I feel like, we just got the bare bones, saw same design by Lenar and the finish was much better. to say the least I love the house but disappointed in the finish product. sunken lights in the kitchen, we are in the 21st century. We could use some noise reduction windows considering, we are so close to the where the train passes and honks consistently. Please make some improvements for the future homes thank you ... More
