Overall impressions after move in

Upon first walking through the homes we purchased, we liked the colors and the fact that it was mostly tile flooring. We also liked the distance between houses. It seemed like pretty much everything we wanted. However, upon moving in and really getting to see the walls and doors and windows, we began quickly noticing a LOT of issues all with quality of workmanship. This house was thrown together so fast by people who really didn't know what the heck they were doing. All of the switch plates and doorstops were put in place before they textured and painted the walls so they are all a mess! ...

Don’t expect quality.

After declining to participate in the their initial “bidding” process, they finally just put the prices on homes. We end up buying a home, but the quality is bad. Dishwasher doesn’t dry, caulking missing from showers, doors askew and when you try to contact someone, no one gets back with you about fixing issues.

Moved in my home for a month now. Have had electrical issues, plumbing problems, and hvac issues. To this day still waiting for the electrical issues to be resolved. Imagine buying a $400,000 and not having electricity for multiple days in master bathroom and bath. Being told it will be a few days before someone comes out. Even though you see the electrical company working down the street a few houses down on homes that aren’t complete. Imagine them finally coming and not fixing the issue, then having to reschedule again. 2 weeks of getting dressed in the dark. But no one has an answer. We ...

Many problems with the house from the grass in the back, shower doors with gaps, back door jamming, recurring kitchen leak one side of the closet different measure than the other one, garage walls were not finished, garage floor uneven ruff spots. Not good workmanship.

2 Months post closing repairs still not addressed.

We closed on our new home Mid-December. We still have 2 repairs still not completed. A cracked bathroom cabinet frame due to sink installer damaging it. And a 3rd bathroom fiberglass shower surround that has major damage to it which we discovered post-closing. It should have never been installed, or the installer damaged it. We reported it to customer service within 30 days post close and now a month later it is still not replaced. This is a major defect and has caused our family undue distress and taken away the joy of buying a new home. Very frustrated and dissatisfied.

The model of the home I truly like, however, the home was just thrown together just to pease me. The home was support to been deliver to me on Dec 7, well it was pushed out due to material was not ordered. I feel like once they received the material they was on a time crunch which made them throw the house together and not looking out for the well being of the buyer. all cheap material has been placed in the homes and the buyer has spent all of they life saving to buy a quality home which was not delivered. And now we have to replace things. I'm not happy with this builder at all.

I appreciated the communication throughout the build and understand Hurricane Ian throwing a monkey wrench into an already complicated supply chain, but I do understand the motivation to lie to me. Making arrangements to live while the build was completing would have been easier if I was told the truth instead of trying to make me feel better with overly aggressive time lines. We all knew it was going to take three times longer than I was told, so what is the motivation to lie to me? Finally, we had concerns on the finish of the walls and paint that we were instructed were normal finishes for ...

Started out positive, but didn't always get my questions answered. Even after replying to emails and asking. And then once home was closed upon have not received level of support needed when needing issues fixed. Still have many that were never taken action on and was told moving forward to wait until 10 month check-in. What about what was submitted prior not getting resolved? Just wait until 10 months I guess.

Purchased a home from Pulte/Centex - 4 months before closing. Craftsmanship was poor in multiple areas at “final walkthrough”. I feel the house should be completely finished with all errors corrected before “final” review. However, 100+ pieces of blue tape were everywhere with defects in cabinetry, warped walls, etc. We were given the “official” closing date 7 days prior to signing documents and receiving keys (moving from 3 hours away with moving trucks). Work to fix all errors didn’t occur in time which caused a chaotic mess and delayed closing. Of course we had our 2 children and full ...

Not what I expected

I had high hopes for my new home purchase but have identified several areas where Centex cut corners. The paint feels like chalk and there are areas in the construction where they attempted to 'fill in' chipped drywall with plaster and it is very noticeable. Not to mention the fact that the floor on the 2nd level squeaks in multiple rooms. I submitted a service request 1 week ago mentioning these issues (and others) and still no response from the builder. Bummer

I love my new home. The layout is perfect. Structurally, it is solid. However, the attention to finish work is abysmal. Cracks in my new cabinets, my banisters are unsanded leaving my family with splinters. Gaping holes that were never covered over. Unsealed doors. Every neighbor I speak to has the same experience, with warranty tickets a mile long. You will love your home, but you will find that what it takes to make it as it should have been on the day of purchase is a frustrating and lengthy process. Be prepared to be a squeaky wheel. You also have to stay on top of the warranty team or ...

I will share my experience and highlight 2 categories. 1.) Customer Service; the overall customer service was excellent! The builder was attentive, responsive, and eager to work with me. 2.) Quality of craftsmanship: the job seemed rushed and it showed. There was paint splattered on the carpet, blotches of paint on doors, cracks on the driveway, and the crown on the kitchen shelves was loose. I put in a work request to have these and several other issues addressed before the one year warranty expires.

The longer I am in my home the more issues arise. Blinds that are falling down, nail holes in the ceilings, no caulking below baseboard, epoxy split and dried on floor, cracks in the walls appearing...NEVER been so disappointed.

The home ostelf is nice and, if made with care, would have been a great home. Unfortunately, I was not given any spicket for the backyard, the floors creek, and laying down the sod was shoddy. Make sure you notice as much as you can before closing because after you do, good luck getting something worked on.

Still waiting for the external trim problem to be replaced. It has sharp corners that will cut someone's hand and quality of workmanship poor. I addressed this with Michael again this week. This my 4 or 5 discussion about the problem since before purchasing the house. Someone pretended to adjust the problem by adding large globs of silicone to the sharp corners and rough edged opening that were not turned -in correctly in a professional manner.

Price is pretty comparable to other builders. The work however…SHODDY WORKMANSHIP!!! I wish I could post pictures. The turnaround time on the home was FAST but unfortunately the workmanship suffers. All the work from the cement subfloor to the paint and texture to the cabinets is poorly done. Unfortunately, we did not notice the majority of these things until we moved in. We closed two months earlier than expected so that should’ve been a red flag!!! Salesman and construction manager were very communicative though!

To me the house that was built was just average. They could have better builder grade for flooring and cabinets. Not every room has a ceiling fan connection. They should include in the basic package gutters and sod for back yard too.
