It was good within reason, they’re pushy with the timelines when they want you to do something but loose on the timing when you want something. The house is built well, but some of the finish work falls short

It was my first home buying experience. Though I was new to this, centex personnel has provided all the info and education regarding home buying. I suggest all the new buyers to trust centex in home buying.

When you buy a brand new home, you will expect everything will be nice and neat. However, it wasn't our case. After closing, when we went to our new home, we found out that the kitchen wall was leaking, and to fix the issue, they had to cut off our brand new home. While they were fixing the wall, they destroyed our grass, now there is no grass but full of muds. Hollows on the ground, broken door, broken garage door, broken fence, broken shower door, uneven ground, uneven window frames, and much more. How hard is it to inspect the house top to bottom after finishing? I definitely do not trust Centax and pulte's quality of work, I am more than positive that there are problems in this house to be found by me eventually. I can give 3 starts at least, because the warranty team ( Corey Yates, Joshua, and Jennifer ) is good at fixing the issues also good at communicating. If I knew that this company is this bad at attention to detail and lack of quality, Centex and Pulte wouldn't be my list. ... More

Took 11 months from signing of contract to move in. Many delays and poor communication

front door seal not 100 % airtight, so many scratches at the walls and little dings on the tiles. toilet bowl to close to side wall for elderly hard to stand up. outside area have drainage issues

Experience was well. Our construction manager took the time to answer questions made sure our needs were met.

Overall experience: Loan process: good if you understand the home buying process, it was my first home so I ended up googling a lot of information as the loan processors weren’t necessarily proactive in providing all the needed details to understand next steps. Friendly people however. Construction: needs improved communication. Closing window kept on getting pushed with no communication, making it hard for buyers to schedule furniture or appliance deliveries around it. Workmanship, overall I feel I got the worse in quality. My father and family and myself of course were very dissatisfied and disappointed at the poor quality of the work. Lots of damaged and dented door frames and baseboards. The quality of the repairs isn’t much better necessarily. Many little visual repairs were pending plus I keep on finding more after 4 weeks in. Painters are definitely not professional, siding is not neatly cleaned. Window frames needed cleanup and painters stained walls and stones with their dirty brushes. Broken or damaged materials installed as if I was buying a non-new home. Warranties were presented to me after 3 weeks of moving in and it’s my understanding I didn’t get all the paperwork I should’ve, unless I’m overlooking something. Overall it’s been quite frustrating, lots of personal time invested in correcting things, bringing contractors in to fix issues, all while trying to work and putting my house together. Lots of guessing around services such as HOA registration and trash pick up. I love the neighborhood and the idea of what my home would look like if it was perfectly done. But honestly, I would let everyone know to be extra careful and more demanding of details, quality and communication before buying a home here. The experience of selecting options and then making design choices was not fun at all. Do not assume what each options include - u will be sorry. Things u think would obviously be part of an option as it is titled are not. Common sense does not apply. U need to ask a ton of specific questions to ensure u r getting what u expect. If u have conversations with your PM and something is promised, get it in writing. They will come back and say they misspoke or they were overruled by their management.

The only complaint I have is that the sub floor upstairs is not flat! When we walk upstairs, we feel the imperfections beneath our feet. We raised the issue a few times but were told this is as good as it gets!

Happy with the home however very disappointed with the lawn, trees, bushed are already dying. Also brand new but a lot of cover ups. Kitchen floor scratched windows not working. Window Screen not on. front, back and garage door all have issues. already.

It is good but the quality of the material is not good the paint they used the composite walls they come off

Make sure to communicate with the sales representative and super intendent and be thorough with all questions. Educating yourself and making sure to ask questions is crucial. There are a lot of moving parts with several contractors so their internal process isn't streamlined the best. You just need to make sure you stay on top of it.

Craftsmanship is terrible. A brand new construction looks like a horribly renovated home. The brand new construction we closed on looks like it's been lived in by squatters. It does not look brand new. Sales rep and construction manager were very helpful. They just needed a lot of following up. Other than that, they provided good customer service.

There were some issues getting things done.

The biggest issues we had while buying the house was that there was 2 times our loan got suspended and no one ever contacted us which pushed our closing date out an additional month. I had to call and check up on our loan because it went silent for a couple weeks and then was told, “oh well, you’re loan went suspended. It happens another time after that. I will say that towards the end of the actual time we closed, I know the lenders were working very hard to make it happen.

my house was not ready for the initial walk through, therefore i had to do a walk through on closing day. Found many details that weren't up to standard, a month in the house, it is finally coming along.

Poor communication after closing. Difficult to get things fixed. If it needed to wait until 30 day inspection, that should have been communicated to us. Annoyed that grass was dead and did not root in, house was not properly cleaned or powerwashed outside prior to closing.

The internal design and use of space is excellent.

Jon the field manager cares a lot about his communities and is responsive on any issues you raise to him.

There were a few positives like the beautiful community and professional, friendly staff. The builder was quick to respond to our concerns. However, make sure you hire your own home inspector. Thankfully I did and he found broken roof truss (truss- part of a roof structure), roof tiles loose and other things. I found the back splash tiles popping out, and the bathroom tiles were broken or missing grout. The shower head was broken. The windows, carpet, and shower were not cleaned by the day of closing. It was full of grout dust and the team who came back to clean it did a poor job. The grounds keepers were just as bad. I had a tree that came with the house. The tree fell down twice and finally died. They didn’t dig the hole deep enough. Although all these issues have been fixed or in the process of being fixed, it should have done right the first time. I had to take the time out of my day to wait and monitor the contractors. I must say, they are trying to improve and had a very helpful staff, which made the experience more manageable. ... More

seems like an average budget home. fence will need to be replaced and painting done. in 3 years I will need to make some financial investment to upgrade the limited quality of materials used.

I was definitely in a rush to purchase a home and would recommend to anyone looking to purchase with centex to check check and check again. That goes for paperwork, construction, and craftsmanship in the home

The quality and workmanship were FAR below what we expected. All of our issues were addressed promptly though. We love our house and the neighborhood

I decided to purchase my home with Centex based on their solid reputation. From the beginning, they assure you of the high quality materials and workmanship. Throughout the construction process, I encountered numerous issues with the build of the home. Prior to closing, I went through the entire home and requested for several things to be fixed. Now almost two months after having closed on the home, I am still finding a lot of errors in the construction of the home. I have found unfinished caulking, damage to walls, and errors with lighting fixtures/installation. Late in the construction process, it was confirmed that Centex doesn’t hire the best to build the best. They simply contract out the lowest bidder and their construction supervisors ensure that it’s built as good as possible. Prior to closing, I even had to hire a third party inspector who found even more problems and then we had to have City/County inspectors come back out to the home. Bottom line, I will not be buying another Centex/Pulte home I’m the future and have not been recommending this company further. ... More

We were very happy with the people involved with our house except the painters and finishers. We went back and forth for over a month and didn't move in due to issues with the drywall and paint. It finally came to a point where we just let it go.. still sticky doors and dings in the walls.
