Overall quality is slightly better than average. Highly disappointed in the cabinets in the kitchen. You can’t place anything of any weight significance on the upper shelves without the shelf bowing. I’ve had to place my own braces under these to compensate.

Centex could have put more studs in interior walls to make them more sturdy, and think alittle about where they put studs in bathrooms. The workers need to clean up better as I am still cleaning up grout hunks and glaze off tile work. The upgrades aren't what I expected

I wanted to wait a few months to do the review so I could give a fair assessment of my Centex home. First and foremost, I appreciated the fact that there was always someone I could call if I had an issue. Overall, I think the home is worth what I paid for it, just make sure you get everything you ask for before you sign anything; after that, the chances of getting whatever it is you were offered is, more than likely, not going to happen. The first things that stood out to me about the house I purchases was the workmanship; it was shoddy at best. I could tell my home was built from a "quantity" standpoint versus a "quality' standpoint. My move in date got pushed back because I had issues with the way some of the "finished" items looked. Although the issues were all repaired, there were enough to keep my caution up for the first few months. Besides the breaker panel being mislabeled and not receiving new labels to label it correctly, there weren't any major or potential issues I saw until about my second month in the house. My heat wasn't circulating throughout my house so I enacted the warranty. Within a day, I received a phone call and made an appointment for someone to come and take a look at my ventilations system. I was pretty impressed with the speedy response. However, after a specialist inspected my ventilation system, I was told that, not only was a bad damper motor installed, but the foundation (I'm assuming some type of blocks or wood) that kept the system aligned hadn't been installed. Thankfully, it was all repaired, but at the same time, I wonder what else needs to be repaired that I don't know about. Our site manager was really great in explaining everything to us during the build. We really appreciate his hard work, however now that we have moved in we have noticed multiple issues that show the laziness of the builders cutting corners to get the house built. Needless to say, we will be calling several work orders.

Andy was great and set clear expectations. Management of the build was well coordinated. Seemingly inferior quality materials when I compare to the new build my mother in law has in progress with another builder at a lower price point. Example concrete driveway instead of asphalt. Undersized mechanicals cause Issues with proper cooling in the summer. For the price would have expected sod throughout. Neighborhood looks poor in areas due to seeding vs sod. They used to provide full sod but went with a cheaper option of partial sod last year. Overall house was built quickly with decent quality. I have no regrets moving into a Centex house! I absolutely love my house. And I would buy from Centex again and would/have recommended them. However since I have been living in the home for the last 3 weeks, I have been seeing little things with the building materials. They are minor fixes, not worth trying to contact the builder, but I know what to look for now if I were to buy another house from Centex. The one thing I didn't like is toward the end, nearing my closing......I could tell things were rushed. The driveway has cement droppings over the cured cement and it wasn't corrected. Some cement was slung onto the stone part of my house on the outside and it wasn't cleaned off and now it's hard. It's like things like that I can tell they rushed and things were done sloppily. But overall, I have a beautiful house in a very nice community! The only reason I didn't give a 4 rating is due to the Sales office for poor customer service. Needs to focus more in final details

When I take a closer look at workmanship, I would say I am not very satisfied. A request to take a look at our door has not been responded yet. Front door gap are getting bigger.

Flaws that were pointed out during walkthrough - have not been fixed until the day of closing . The builder was running around trying to fix /patch up the damage when I arrived and needed the house clean and ready for movers to move in- the ladder in my living room, opened doors, paint , handyman there . Since it was rushed - many flaws still remained not done ; and now almost 2 months later - it’s not done because the builder finished working in this community and was moved onto another project

Not even 1 month into my new home and multiple drywall and trim issues are occurring as the home is settling I'm a builder by trade and final inspections need tightened up.

Salesperson not very good, story always was changing on different issues, Site manager was excellent , concerned about our questions, lots of small details not in included in build EX Towel ring in 1/2 bath, towel rack in master and second bath separate outlet and switches for bedroom lamps now difficult to match hardware. Overall now occupied long enough to do a detailed review, lets see in 6 months

The construction manager was fabulous.

Overall, I was pleasantly pleased with each of my walk throughs and thought centex was very thorough and responsive to any all issues. However, after closing I’ve ran into issues such as being issued the wrong keys for move in, my lawn not being maintained before my move in, and it taking 3 weeks (& still waiting) for any one to come out for the service request for small items that I am finding that need repair and were missed during the walkthrough. Communication has decreased tremendously. I am very happy with my home just would like for there to have been a smoother transition for me being a first time home owner. ... More

Communication wasn’t great with anybody from sales to trades

Satisfactory, but not great experience.

Overall good experience great builder and great sells person that we had. They have great customer service . Just not happy with the workmanship on the concrete. The driveway was poorly made and they said it was up to the standards. It doesn't look like a new drive way. Very cheaply poured. And paint is very cheap and if it scuffs. You can't clean the paint if you clean the scuff the paint comes right off. Some issues were addressed but the ones I am noting were up to the standard. Still haven't received my oven. There is paint splatters on various parts of the vinyl flooring. We had to deep clean the house before moving was still very dirty. Asked for permits but couldn't get them. Upsetting that a 4 door truck doesnt fit in the garage. ... More

Very stressful paperwork had to be sent numerous times and monthly payment and interest rate were not locked in immmefiately they kept changing customer payment amount

While the home is nice, we are starting to find minor to major issues which I will not type here. I will say that if I had to do it again I would get a home inspector before signing off on the final home inspection.

Workmanship can get better, there was a lot of areas that were different measurement such as windows. Several doors had large gaps on the bottom. The huge one for me was that there was no blinds at all in the home, it is very hard to find the all the measurements. there are over 10 windows in the home.

The build quality is not there most of the workers are drinking during the day no supervision project managers just come and unlock the house in the morning and lock it up in the evening they do not check every time a stage of the build is finished they wait till the end of the build I've never seen them punch any blue tape on the second floor homes exterior so I guess it's just what they can see at ground level on there exterior walk for imperfections both my exterior hose faucets were not secure to the 2x4 and my master bathroom leaked into my downstairs bedroom they forgot to tighten the connection to the pipe shoty work because lack of supervision landscape laid right on top of your weeds no tilling my tree died already they said there's no warranty on landscape me and my neighbor got the same keys for our homes so I went and purchased my own they said no reimbursement could be made for me were the quality and the stand behind pledge? ... Add 1 month to the estimated closing date they give you, and make sure you hire a 3rd party inspector because there will be shortcuts found that need to be addressed

Nice neighborhood , good quality , but responsiveness to issues it’s pretty bad .

We really enjoyed the majority of the home we built. Poor quality with the drywall and painting throughout the home with many issues that will need to be corrected over the next few months and years to come. Further, substandard communication during the closing process from the on-site representative as evident in the fact that we did not receive the keys to our home until days after we signed the official closing documents with the lawyers office. Fortunately the construction manager was able to let us into our home. With that being said, the home still met our needs and we love the location. ... More
