Overall good experience great builder and great sells person that we had. They have great customer service . Just not happy with the workmanship on the concrete. The driveway was poorly made and they said it was up to the standards. It doesn't look like a new drive way. Very cheaply poured. And paint is very cheap and if it scuffs. You can't clean the paint if you clean the scuff the paint comes right off. Some issues were addressed but the ones I am noting were up to the standard. Still haven't received my oven. There are some issues noted right before closing. There was lot of miscommunication during this process. Caused some stress with builder representative. I wish that was smooth.

The quality of workmanship on the house that I bought is marginal at best. I found several light switches outlet sockets that weren’t even grounded. When I went to put in my living room ceiling fan I removed the light fixture and found it was only held in by a half bent screw. I had to remove the whole thing and install a new one and that wasn’t even grounded; so much for quality assurance and inspections. The floor had to be ripped three times. The third time was actually after I closed on the house because they couldn’t get it done before closing, which intern prevented me from moving in ...

I did not have the best customer experience from the sales through the build experience. Once we signed the contract, we felt like a number and not a client. Poor communication throughout the process. We pointed out several build quality issues throughout build. Only closer of the build came in and tried to rectify the issues we pointed out and could provide honest answers and time frames.

I don't care about some of the petty rules the company made. I needed them to accommodate my schedule and not for me to accommodate theirs. This meeting all the time was not going to fit my schedule when email and texting would work. Don't state the obvious. I can read. They were way behind getting my home done and the excuse was that the shortage of what ever was the cause. Other houses started way after mine were being completed. We have had a roller coaster of an experience, and I would not recommend Centex. We had a terrible project manager, Jackson, for almost the entirety of the build, who never contacted us, never gave us updates, didn't put in any service requests when we noticed broken windows in the home, they tiled the wrong floors, etc. It was a nightmare. When I had to contact our account manager to get him to even call me, he sounded like I was bothering him. Three weeks before close, they switched us to a new PM, Clay, who was fantastic. I bought a Centex home & closed on the house on August 9th, 2021. At the time of our walk through the front and rear trees were flat out dead. The sales rep told me in her own words she was going to have the trees replace so did the builder he too texted me and emailed me saying "Just go to closing and we will replace the two dead trees" today is September 12th, 2021 and the trees still have not bee replaced. Home did not include any window trim- specifically stool and apron. This looks very unfinished and leaves the homebuyer with a big cost to cover to make their home look finished. No gutters on home. Closing was little rush. Closing cost numbers were revealed just 1 hour before closing time. Promotional incentives like refrigerator is not as advertised. I would never again buy a home from them, this has been a nightmare. I felt like we moved to a used house and not a new house, what you see on line is not at all what you get. Buyer beware. During the build process, I did not think it would be as rough as it was. Going through four field managers was not necessary. Having to update them weekly on issues, keep repeating issues each week. The lack of responsiveness to issues was unbelievable. If client points out a problem, I would think it would be fixed at that stage and not months later. We have found several issues within the 30 day warranty of initially purchasing the home that makes us question if the home can support or last us in the long run. The fact that they don’t finish painting the garage is another issue. This was not mentioned during the purchasing process. We have found a water bottle in our background full of urine. This process was extremely difficult. Still have issues with home 2 months after living in it. I’m very disappointed in centex. I choose centex because of the pulte brand and due to home cost. Being a pulte brand I expected a lot more. The cost of the home is literally the only thing that kept me interested in purchasing a home with centex.

Don’t build during a pandemic

Overall the experience was sub par. I’ll start by saying our construction manager was fantastic throughout the entire process. The house however is already showing is lack of workmanship. We have horribly poor mud and tape throughout the ceiling and some walls of the entire house and are in the process of having the framers and drywallers get back out in order to scrape, re mud and tape and then reapply the texture and paint for both up and down stairs.
