I liked the home buying experience

Centex home are not bad. But I wiould love more quality products and adding more fixtures to make it sand out the more.

Our overall home buying experience with Centex was good! Special thanks to Clint and Rhonda for being helpful, informative and patient with us during the home buying process. Although, I was not fully satisfied with some concerns that were left unaddressed by my inspector.

On my walkthrough, she showed me everything there was to show with explanations and examples so that I understood how my new home functions and how my appliances work.

I am already having issues with the garage.

Bought our house with Centex in June. The process and staff we worked with were great. They were very informative and helpful. Only issue we had was with the quality of workmanship primarily with the concrete work. First we had to have our entire pad walking up to the front door floated (lt is now a different color than my walkway up to the house and driveway) because the concrete was pooling with water and not level. It also had gouge marks in it from them using the backside of a hammer to break off mortar that had fallen and dried on it. The difference in color although not a big deal is frustrating when you pay $420,000 for a brand new house. The driveway also had many small holes and one the size of a baseball in it which again was fixed but looks a different color. The curb in front of our house was not lined up with the existing curb so there is about a 1” bump out in the curb connecting to our driveway from the rest of it. Lastly the 1” bump up going into the garage was chipped on the edge and we had to ask them to repair it. This agin does not look like the rest of the slab and noticeably stands out. It will inevitably fail aging as well since it’s right on the edge so that’s frustrating. Overall house is beautiful but concrete work is terrible. The finish on my 230,000 house in Savannah was much nicer than this one which is almost double the price. ... More

We are loving our new home. Mason (builder) has been fantastic. He makes sure that every feature of our new home is working and that we know how to use it. He goes way beyond what we expected in a builder.

I’ve owned several new homes and the attention to the construction process was the best on this house of any of them. I also hired an outside home inspector and the report came back with just minor cosmetic issues, but the attention to detail on construction was amazing. Very pleased with that portion of the house. The fixtures used were entry level and all of that can be upgraded at a later date as it wasn’t possible in the build process.

The whole team was awesome. I will recommend you all to others.

THE BUILDING MANAGER WAS EXTREMLY HELPFUL AND RESPONSIVE AND ADDRESSED ANY CONCERNS QUICK

The quality of workmanship on the house that I bought is marginal at best. I found several light switches outlet sockets that weren’t even grounded. When I went to put in my living room ceiling fan I removed the light fixture and found it was only held in by a half bent screw. I had to remove the whole thing and install a new one and that wasn’t even grounded; so much for quality assurance and inspections. The floor had to be ripped three times. The third time was actually after I closed on the house because they couldn’t get it done before closing, which intern prevented me from moving in for a full week after closing. The driveway is already chipping and has pockmarks throughout it. What ever coating they put on the concrete driveway didn’t adhere properly so it chipped up and created a holes throughout it, surface. I asked it to be fixed and Nicole the Customer Rep, who is WONDERFUL, got right on it and had them come over-and so-called fix them ….now my driveway looks like a Poke-a-dotted surface. The workers that this company employees or subcontracts to do the work, they could care less. Everything is done quickly without attention to detail and sloppily.. if I’m gonna spend $365,000 on a house I expect at least the outlet covers and light switch covers throughout the house to be straight and not crooked throughout the house. I still have yet to fix all those. No, I would not recommend this to anyone…I am very disappointed in Centex. The main thing is, as I was waiting for the house to be finished and throughout the inspection process, when discrepancies were found and requested to be fixed; I was told they were . Since I’m moving down from upstate New York, and quite a few of my phone calls were made from there, my builder assured me that several of these items were fixed, and most of them were, but I noticed that some of these discrepancies were covered up or made to look like they were corrected or simply just overlooked. . I can’t express how disappointed I am in the workmanship on my house. In fact, I’m going to demand that my driveway somehow be resurfaced so that it doesn’t look like a poke-a-dotted surface. This is ridiculous. In closing, I would like to say that I feel very disappointed that I have to leave this type of survey and evaluation. This was supposed to be a pleasant and fun experience. It’s been some-what short of that. I’m the type of person that I want to get what I pay for, it’s not my job to save the builder money. I paid for that. It’s the builders responsibility to provide a product that is advertised at the time of the contract signing and not skimp at the finished product or correcting the discrepancies. For instance, my outside backyard filled with trashes(I cleaned it) and no grass has been planted outside fence, heavy rains comes up, all the ground debris and muds comes to my backyard.

Explained the details of the house very well. Also were reachable.

I love my home

Everything was great. My only issue was I had asked our builder rep if our yard was going settle and was told it would and it wouldn’t be bumpy. Come to find out our yard was never rolled. So it’s been a bit of headache working with our case manager and communication. But overall my wife and I are happy with our new home.

The home is beautiful, everything went absolutely perfect during my time. At first I was overwhelmed, but when I signed and moved in it was all worth the process. The quality of the home is unique, I love everything about the home.

Closing was little rush. Closing cost numbers were revealed just 1 hour before closing time. Promotional incentives like refrigerator is not as advertised. There were gutters installed to the model house. Unfortunately they are installed to my unit. This is my first purchase experience and I was not satisfied. I feel like I should have gone with MI homes in the same community. But it was late as I have already committed to centex

The sales agent was great, after we moved in or after purchasing the home, it became very hard to get any assistance from Centex representative. No response from the customer service number we were given. We still have issues that need fixing, the post inspection guys never showed up either in two consecutive appointments.

The overall process was well done with the team. The only challenge has been with our oven which has been unuseable to a repair. We may end up having to replace the unit already as the igniter is out.

I love almost everything about my house. However, the only reason I wouldn’t go all out to give 5 stars for everything is because I don’t like the way the backyard was built.

So far, soo good! It’s great!
