Although constant follow up was put to this, Centex delivers on its promises

My upstairs is warm in the winter with the heat running but my downstairs is cold. They sent a tech out from Houk A/C and he wasn’t very helpful at all. it’s very uncomfortable

Home buying experience was okay, would have liked more communication and the process to be less rushed.

Beginning process was smooth and painless. However as our home progressed things became more difficult. Sales person was giving us information without knowing the whole situation. We were kept up to date with timelines of what was happening when, but then those timelines were never met, and at one point were not completed 2+ weeks after we were told they would be done. Excuses such as contractors and deliveries no-showing was given often. The end was VERY hectic due to a winter storm being added into the mix. That being said, while they used the storm as an excuse, the main point was that they were 2-3 weeks behind before that storm hit. We had to fight every day to close in a timely manner so that we weren’t between homes due to our lease ending and the home not being ready, and it actually got bad enough that our sales person was removed from our case and the area sales manager stepped in to complete our sale. Fencing was not completed in time so survey could not be completed on time either. They even had to take appliances out of a home that was not completed or ready for closing to put them into our home in order to get the certificate of occupancy. Final inspections were not completed until the morning of closing, putting us at risk of not being able to close if something did not pass. The builder also promised that brush/yard debris would be cleaned up after closing (this was another item delayed due to contractor/storm situation). We have been in the home for 6 weeks now and this STILL has not been completed. I have attempted to contact both the construction manager and Centex customer service and my emails requesting this be competed are being ignored. ... More

My overall experience in the beginning was great! But, as I moved into the home I began noticing a lot of things that were wrong. I was in communication with the Field Manager at first but I guess he became overwhelmed with my many concerns about things not being up to par as they were presented upon closing and stopped answering my calls and responding to text messages. I still have unresolved repairs/issues from inside and outside.

Builder did not plan out street well, and built everything except lot next to me. Now dealing with contractors who work past dark 10 pm, through nails and roofing materials on my property and refuse to clean up. Also when I was sold house the house model was full brick. Now realizing mine is only 25%, so discouraged that this would happen, without agent indicating this. Also homes for sale are not cared for yards not mowed for weeks, and trash from contractors every where. Contractors frequently blocked driveway even though plenty of other places to park on street without residents. Builder is aware of issues but nothing has changed. ... More

Four key areas to review: 1) The sales experience was good, the sales guy was knowleadgeable and fair. 2) The mortgage approval was smooth, no issues, super fast. 3) The construction of the house was a big issue. I hired an inspector to do an inspection and it showed several issues that the construction manager did not want to accept. After a few days of stress and after postponing the closing day, the inspector went back and demonstrated that he was right. The Construction Manager then needed to act and resolve the issues in question. This could have been avoided, it created a lot of stress. As for the title company, I liked the work they did. There was a mistake somewhere in the process as the title was made on my name and not on mine and my wife's name, but not sure if the title company should be blamed for this. Attic’s are not useful because the house is not built well.

To me the house that was built was just average. They could have better builder grade for flooring and cabinets. Not every room has a ceiling fan connection. They should include in the basic package gutters and sod for back yard too.

Still waiting for numerous repairs that were identified prior to closing (May, 2022). I’m praying that the service improves.

Getting in contact with the builder was always an issue. Updates were hardly ever sent and closing kept getting delayed

I have had to put a ticket in 4x in one month (2) tkts were due to my downstairs not heating up. I have had the ac/heating company come out twice the first one shut vents on my 2nd floor and did an air balance check and still it did not help. The second time they came out they opened up the vents upstairs and told me to run the fan while running the heater still no big change in the way my downstairs feels. Now I believe im beginning to see a spot on my ceiling in my upstairs bathroom that cld be a roof leak. I also had an irrigation issue on the side of my home when I moved I was told this will be fixed and they did come out and replace sod. The side of my home is still "muddy" and I cant walk to my backyard without destroying another pair of shoes. So no in all honesty I have had too many issues for this to be a brand new home. ... Initially buying the property was nice and everyone was accommodating. But when the paperwork started and money was exchanged, the people on the neighborhood staffing were not attentive and negligent. My wife and I were lied to about a few things and documents were created without consent. Schedules were messed with and we were told it was our fault. But after it was all said and done, none of it was major and we love the house we are in for the most part. The neighborhood is nice and accommodating, the Centex helpline is quick to act and helpful.

I will share my experience and highlight 2 categories. 1.) Customer Service; the overall customer service was excellent! The builder was attentive, responsive, and eager to work with me. 2.) Quality of craftsmanship: the job seemed rushed and it showed. There was paint splattered on the carpet, blotches of paint on doors, cracks on the driveway, and the crown on the kitchen shelves was loose. I put in a work request to have these and several other issues addressed before the one year warranty expires.

Overall the house is not on the standards that I was expecting. The final product has poor workmanship quality. No attention to detail whatsoever.

Buying experience should have been exciting, sales rep was not really supportive through purchase, field manager was terrible at overseeing the workmanship was at the level of expectation set, quality of materials is not exceptabke for new built home!! Many issues with workmanship, you have unqualified workers such as painters , cabinet installers, trim carpenters floor installers !! Every issue has been passed off as a vendor issue, no one takes accountability !! Would never recommend Centex to my family and friends

I’ve lived in the home for a month now and the home has issues first with the outside paint is peeling, downstairs tub has a big crack that is rusted I’ve tried to let the contractor know about the issues and have not heard back from them. Just dissatisfied overall!!!!

Pretty much everything in the house has an issue. The flooring, the AC, the front porch, the sprinkler, the garage door... I'm tired of asking them to come to fix these issues. For the price we paid, for the pain the mortgage company was; there should have been none!

Builder focuses on speed over quality. Many lines were not straight, screw not drilled in all the way, misalignments on cabinets, paint overspray.

It did take a little time to close, and at times the same paperwork that I was asked to submit was being asked to submit more than once either because Centex claimed they never received it or they needed it again. As for my reason to giving a 1 star on Responsiveness to issues is due to a couple of maintenance issues I have that was brought to their attention to 3 different people and I have yet to receive a callback, Email or anything on those maintenance issues that need to be fixed, going on week 4 now.

Many problems with the house from the grass in the back, shower doors with gaps, back door jamming, recurring kitchen leak one side of the closet different measure than the other one, garage walls were not finished, garage floor uneven ruff spots. Not good workmanship.

Started out positive, but didn't always get my questions answered. Even after replying to emails and asking. And then once home was closed upon have not received level of support needed when needing issues fixed. Still have many that were never taken action on and was told moving forward to wait until 10 month check-in. What about what was submitted prior not getting resolved? Just wait until 10 months I guess.

Not a good experience,bad paint job outside.
