Cheap light fixtures and plumbing fixtures. No top grade placed before laying a poor quality bermuda grass on the yard. Developer (Pulte/Centex) doesn't take care of it's designated land (sidewalks, berms, drainage area). No homeowner representation on HOA.

The house is a beautiful house and we got it for a great price, but there are some things that I have issues with. Some of the walls are crooked. We had been told we would get a paint kit when we closed to touch up minor blemishes, but yet again day after day we are let down. The fininacial portion of the house was very smooth. No issues there.

2-car Garage doesn't fit ONE regular-sized truck!

I would've given the Summit by pulte/centex 4 stars for value for price paid, BUT for one HUGE reason - their TWO-CAR garage doesn't fit ONE regular sized short-bed crewcab truck! One of the MAIN reasons I purchased a home was so I could safely park my truck when I went on long out of town journeys (which I do for at least 6 months in a year), so I was quite shocked to find out that my truck didn't fit (another 1 1/2 feet of depth of garage would've helped) inside the garage. When I reported it to the Pulte folks, they didn't bother to respond for several days and even when they did, they ...

Price is pretty comparable to other builders. The work however…SHODDY WORKMANSHIP!!! I wish I could post pictures. The turnaround time on the home was FAST but unfortunately the workmanship suffers. All the work from the cement subfloor to the paint and texture to the cabinets is poorly done. Unfortunately, we did not notice the majority of these things until we moved in. We closed two months earlier than expected so that should’ve been a red flag!!! Salesman and construction manager were very communicative though!

The Centex team were helpful and worked to get us in the house but the quality of the home is subpar. Windows are misshapen, walls aren’t straight, grass was laid poorly, etc. We’re not pleased and we might have made a mistake buying a home from Centex.

Multiple issues not resolved throughout the home. Two walkthroughs with blue tape and still issues remained. Doors not properly sealing. Two of the rooms in the "Smart home" did not have the ethernet cables terminated or cut into the walls. The filter was missing for the AC, when they finally installed it, it was a used and very clearly dirty filter, if I could post the picture I would, absolutely gross, Trash left in the AC unit, and cabinet doors installed backwards, Exterior of home has misaligned panels. Just kind of lazy and unprofessional workers. Other all other parts of the home ...

Several blue tape items existed and only some of them were corrected before closing. Several issues/items still exist that were never corrected. Overall workmanship on building the house is not satisfactory. Overall responsiveness from construction manager and sales representative were unsatisfactory.

Centex Homes - Rushed work quality.

Rushed work quality. For starters, Paint and drywall left behind on floors and carpets, texture blemishes, sod placed over the top of construction debris and very uneven lumpy/bumpy ground, trees not planted in correct locations as per my requests. Property is constantly covered in construction trash from the centex build next door, siding was damaged from neighboring construction.

Affordable Starter Home

We are happy with our home buying experience. We wish that there had been more time spent on the little finishing details to make sure that the home felt complete, but as a starter home, the price is decent for what you get. There is some room for customizability, but for some things, it is worth it to just do it yourself down the road so you don't pay interest on minor upgrades.

We were pleased with Pulte and the lending process. It went very smooth. Our field managers also get a 10 star. Shout out to Walker for trying his best and hardest to make things happen even during shortages. The flooring is very low quality. You can not even place a dining table down without the floors having intentions immediately. The cleaning lady did not do a good job on a “move in ready” clean. I completely understand the surrounding areas are a construction site and so was the home, however there was still solution left on the cabinets that had not been wiped up, dust on the counters, ...

The buying experience was fantastic, the sales person(s) were fantastic, the original construction supervisors were great, and the construction seemed to be going well, as time to close on the sale was nearing the wheels fell off the building machine. It seemed everything that could go wrong went wrong, many items lacked in workmanship, many things didn't work, then it was a rush to the finish.

Centex Homes responded:
We sincerely apologize that you encountered issues toward the end of the construction process and we have shared this feedback with our leadership team. If you'd like to discuss your experience with us, please don't hesitate to email us at socialcare@pultegroup.com. --Sarah centexhomes

Be prepared for issues to arise between your final walk through and closing. The field manager claimed that Centex would provide a "paint touch up kit", it never happened and I have several areas in my home that the builder failed to paint. I can't even get a response from the company just for the name of the paint color. I've been trying to get a response for several weeks. There was dirt rubbed into my carpet from electricians that were in my home doing work while I was closing. I came home immediately after closing and electricians were in my home, without anyone telling me they would be ...

Our home buying experience was nothing more than average. I do not feel that Centex does anything over and beyond. We have had several complaints about our home since we moved in, none of which have been addressed. I absolutely would go with a different builder in the future. We have a home, so that’s a plus. But, there is nothing special about this builder. If you are looking to be mediocre, you are doing great.

Staff are very friendly. Finishes are extremely poor. It hard not to know where to direct your concerns and everybody would say it'll get fixed, but that's is not going to happen. They hide warranty information, so they can cover their back. The grass in front and back yard that was installed was brown with the excused that was winter time. Spring is almost over and there are more than half of the grass that still brown (with the right watering). Also, a lot of big bumps all over the front and back yard. At the moment of the installation, they said that those bumps would settle, but of ...

I wish we had the availability to wait on closing until all the issues were addressed but it would have taken too long. There have been a mix of bigger issues, minor mistakes and comical overlooks. Since the first rain storm, I’ve been vocal about insufficient drainage with no response. Exteriors issues with siding and windows. We found a roll of sheet vinyl tucked away with our ac unit. Daily reminders and concerns for a new build.

In terms of the people I worked with, excellent. When it comes to the house, it has been issue after issue and disappointment after disappointment. The way we received our home at closing was a little disturbing to say the least. My wife and 2 kids had been in a 1bd apartment prior to so we were just happy to have space. I highly recommend paying a close eye to detail, trim work and the overall crew who is building. Corona bottles and cups of pee are not uncommon to find along with razor blades, filthy window seals and trash hidden behind your appliances. Interior and exterior paint job is a ...

So many downs throughout the process. From floor plan changes (a wall that wasn’t supposed to be diagonal end up being) to multiple water leaks, one that owner found on a random visit to the house, that was able to stop it before it ruined the entire second floor with the over night water fountain. Overall the floor used is sub-par and below quality, been told is not linoleum and it’s a Vinyl roll but they are both the same and at the price point a plank would’ve been ok. Floor is peeling everywhere, is not resistant and wasn’t finish correctly in so many places. The cabinets needed ...

We thought it was going to be great experience buying our first home. Boy were we wrong. The roof structure had many boards that needed reinforcement as well as a hole in the roof barrier. Initial inspection passed until we had our own inspector come through and point out many issues. Builders urinated in our new bath tubs with no running water. A port-a-toilet was literally outside next to our house. Electrical fixtures were crooked throughout and had to be straightened. Front porch post is not at a right angle/squared to the house. One month in and nails/screws are backing out of the ...

I love my home. Centex conceptualizes a beautiful look and appeal. My concern is workmanship it was poor all around. I never had a final walk through it was a 1001 things some major some minor that’s needed repair. Everything from the walkway to the bathrooms constant workmanship issues. And the response has been horrific I’m in two months now and still waiting for repairs to be completed. From spilling paint in carpet to, to broken cabinets in kitchen, to unleveled doors and crooked trim and every crooked placed Sheetrock and ripples in the ceiling. Its the contracted workers poor ...
