The lack of attention to detail takes the joy out of owning a new home.

I wish we had the availability to wait on closing until all the issues were addressed but it would have taken too long. There have been a mix of bigger issues, minor mistakes and comical overlooks. Since the first rain storm, I’ve been vocal about insufficient drainage with no response. Exteriors issues with siding and windows. We found a roll of sheet vinyl tucked away with our ac unit. Daily reminders and concerns for a new build.

It is good but the quality of the material is not good the paint they used the composite walls they come off

This was our first home purchase/new build and we couldn't be happier with it! My only complaint is that the interior paint stains easily and has to be retouched as cleaning it removes the paint.

The whole process was easy to communicate and they tried their up most best to make things 100 right , very helpful and honest.

Centex is a decent track home builder. We loved working with Melissa in the sales office. Brett the superintendent was nice and helpful. It was a little disconcerting that he didn't have the items from our home inspection fixed before our walk, but it appears he was able to get them fixed before we closed. Overall we love our new home; however, using their lender was a total nightmare! Don't let them talk you into, or let them pressure you into using their lender. Pulte Mortgage is horrible!!! To say Pulte Mortgage is slow, and non responsive, it an understatement! It's almost impossible to get a live person to answer the phone. If you are able to actually talk to one they don't have answers and don't call you back. Pulte reps took on average a week to respond to emails and to voicemails, They took almost a month to even get a yes or no and not till I told them if I didn't have an answer by the end of the day I was not going to use them and because they were so horrible I wouldn't be purchasing the Centex Home ether. I was told by Centex that if I used Pulte Mortgage the process would go quicker and be smoother, definitely not true! As a note I had a pre approval with guaranteed close from another lender (who also offered to match the incentives from Centex & Pulte Mortgage). I should have used my lender... Sales experience was great. We were told many things by our salesperson. Only a few of those things were honored by the builder. I did not appreciate the initial price hike for my house that happened simply because 2 lots were sold before my salesperson delivered my contract. My price was increased $8 000 per sold lot for a total of $16,000 in those 2 days. The workmanship was questionable from the time they started the frame. There were crooked support beams under window frames, crooked window & door frames. Studs had pieces of wood missing from them, because they are glued together to create the desired length. The field manager caught most of the issues, but I caught a lot. The builder hires contractors who hire subcontractors and no one seems to actually work directly for the builder. This may be normal, but in my opinion it lessens the quality., and the end result shows it. Everything from the drywall work to the paint to the landscaping to the garage door installation was poorly completed and in some areas actual damage was done by the installers and the installers admitted it was intentional. There are drainage issues throughout the development because the land grading was not done correctly. This is from my neighbors testimony and my personal experience. My experience with the builders customer service for after closing issues on the home is they are only there to save the builder from liability exposure; not to actually help the homeowner. Centex constructions manager and warranty personnel are not on top of things. The workmanship is inferior, and the quality of the house is not what I was expected for someone paying over $300,000 in San Antonio. Two months after closing escrow, Centex never completed the items identified during our home walkthrough. The second-story floors are squeaky and uneven. I am concerned about the way Centex framed my house. The exterior painting was poorly done. You can see all the irregular spray marks all over the place. What lived in our home for almost 2 months now. We keep finding new things wrong or missing in our house. We are extremely upset with how this house was built. We should be happy and enjoying our dream home but instead we are chasing the builder to fix all the issues

Our experience has been great, have loved the home. The team has been very accommodating as we have found any issues.

Once we got people from Centex that were higher up the chain our home the whole process improved. But overall it was not a very good experience. Example: the entire sewer system was left unattached to the main line. Had we not caught it w our home inspector it wouldve been left that way!!!!

Drywall was, and is still, terrible, the finishing guy kept telling me it was done and it wasn't even close. They can't even finish it STILL. Embarrassed to live in it or show anyone else. Patched up the errors with caulk, every error. Paint missing on portions of the wall. Drywall tape still popping out. Drywall texture still missing. No one cares when I tell them to fix it. It's been over a month since I signed. They tried to put a light oak trim filler in the cabinets with dark cherry color and thought I wouldn't notice. Paint splatter and caulking on the floors, window glass, and everywhere it shouldn't be, not clean, keep leaving the door unlocked when they're "finished working" on it for the day. Worst. Too many things went poorly throughout the entire process. I would be happy to discuss over the phone.

We built our home during a very difficult time with supply shortages, delays, a pandemic, etc.. When all was said and done, Centex stood by us, and helped us to obtain our home. This is not just a house. It is where we will make memories, celebrate life and its ups and downs, and I feel that our building manager (Jared) and Centex knows that, and it shows in their sincere actions.

The overall process was so easy. We were so happy to have such great people such as Lee, Ryan, and Reagan helping us and guiding us through this journey. They were all quick to respond to any questions we had and made our first time buying a home a great one! We are so pleased with our experience.

This experience was terrible. Those who you’re supposed to be in contact became unresponsive. The lack of consistency with communication along with poor craftsmanship is something I never want to deal with again.

What a shame. These houses come with more issues built in than upgrades.

My builder, Thomas, was great!

I was most upset that as the newer homes are being built, less options / upgrades are offered. I mean, seriously, how hard would it have been to put the plumbing in for the water softener? Why was this totally deleted? Now to have this done properly will be an additional $1000 that could have been done cheaper as in previous houses. Why were the brick and stone upgrades deleted? You can see the difference through the neighborhood - and, my house cost $60,000 more. Bad decisions by Centex management.

Craftsmanship is terrible. A brand new construction looks like a horribly renovated home. The brand new construction we closed on looks like it's been lived in by squatters. It does not look brand new. Sales rep and construction manager were very helpful. They just needed a lot of following up. Other than that, they provided good customer service.

This house was built so poorly, I would need to take over 100 photos to show someone. I can't even begin to try and describe the issues from walls being crooked, lack of 90-degree angles, lack of caulk where it needs to be, massive gaps that were caulked instead of properly worked. The trades this company hires to do their work are absolutely garbage. Overall worst experience and in the community Facebook group, I am one of the hundreds of people who have had a worse or similar experience. Centex should be closed down.

The entire process was smooth for the most part. The builder did transition between building managers so we had a few communication break downs. The biggest area of opportunity for them is the landscape and sod installation. I am not happy with the sod being delivered brown and sitting for a few days, no top soil used, and the landscapers laying it down on rock without racking it out

Comb thru your home multiple times. Some things pop out after the move in so make your warranty list and use it for sure.
