Excited about the new house, disappointed by the local Centex management team

We are deeply disappointed with the poor quality of customer service we have experienced since closing on our house. Despite our efforts, no one has been willing to address the issues we have encountered. It has now been 45 days since closing, and several problems remain unresolved. While I prefer not to mention any names here, it is important for the management team to be aware of the individuals responsible for the Winding Brook subdivision in San Antonio, TX. I wish there were a way to share pictures to illustrate our concerns.

Not the right home if you are fairly meticulous and have a high level of attention to detail. The standards of finish on these homes are unfortunately low, including the final cleaning and especially the hasty caulking throughout. Having not been able to attend the final walkthrough, I was very regretful of my purchase when I did see the home.

This was honestly the worst experience of my life. In full transparency there were only 2 people that cared about Elaine and I as a person during this process and that was Jack(builder) and Winn(sales rep). This has been the most challenging and most unprofessional process I have gone through. Let me start with the workmanship; our house is still being worked on because of the awful job done throughout the house. Poor workmanship. The day I closed, there was leak from broken pipe that was poorly done from the ceiling that flood the house. Electricals not done properly and too many issues with the home. Don't be in rush to close, wait at least a week after the house is completed.

This centex builder is not Upto the mark. They are building the homes to sell it fast. They are not looking for the quality of the house. The engineers working for centex are not professionally qualified and they mostly don’t know how to build the house but they are doing that. They are asking the buyer to close the house without completing the home and the buyer mostly don’t know about few things and they are rush to close because of the time limits.

Would Not Recommend Pulte/Centex to Anyone

Terrible, terrible buying experience. Builder purposely delayed close because we chose to use a third party lender. We were homeless living in an extended stay hotel with our pets for weeks because of their intentional delays. Pulte Mortgage was EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE in trying to keep us from going elsewhere. The “incentives” they offer buyers are eaten up by their ridiculously high fees, so you actually net zero dollars towards the purchase. The closing agent from Pulte was extremely rude during the signing. The build quality is seriously lacking. There was no attention to detail. ...

We had nothing but issues with our build out. Our manager was more like a 50’s salesman than a manager. I would not recommend that anyone build with Centex or Pulte homes.

House flooded and had water damage after a worker nailed a water line. Nobody told me. If I hadn't went to the house and saw it, I never would have known. I had to demand a mold test be done. Of course, they found mold and didn't tell me that either. I found out when I saw a moldy baseboard laying on the kitchen countertop under a vent. I wouldn't recommend centex to my worst enemy. I purchased my home on 12/6/2021. My move-in date kept getting pushed back. The sales rep that initially handled my purchase quit and I fell into the proverbial cracks. I was never told the appliances I chose were not available when I was buying the matching refrigerator, so my kitchen doesn't match. Sales experience was great. We were told many things by our salesperson. Only a few of those things were honored by the builder. I did not appreciate the initial price hike for my house that happened simply because 2 lots were sold before my salesperson delivered my contract. Centex constructions manager and warranty personnel are not on top of things. The workmanship is inferior, and the quality of the house is not what I was expected for someone paying over $300,000 in San Antonio. Two months after closing escrow, Centex never completed the items identified during our home walkthrough. The second-story floors are squeaky and uneven.
