We had nothing but issues with our build out. Our manager was more like a 50’s salesman than a manager. I would not recommend that anyone build with Centex or Pulte homes.

They just want your money. They rush you to put the down payment down before you can read the contracts. I didn’t want power lines I along my back yard. 2 weeks after I moved in, power lines were installed along my fence - within inches and through trees. And yes the landowner supplied drawings to CPS for approval of where they want them. Yes it’s a Pulte/Centex decision but they try and tell you they have no control. Not true. When you try and call them about any issues, they don’t respond at all. Just told me I own the house now. Terrible customer service. I wish I would have joined the ...

Centex Homes - House flooded and had water damage after a worker nailed a water
- Josephual S.

House flooded and had water damage after a worker nailed a water line. Nobody told me. If I hadn't went to the house and saw it, I never would have known. I had to demand a mold test be done. Of course, they found mold and didn't tell me that either. I found out when I saw a moldy baseboard laying on the kitchen countertop under a vent. I wouldn't recommend centex to my worst enemy. They hire horrible contactors and they cheap out on any and everything they can. I moved into a brand new house that has paint all over the floors throughout the house, paint and mud stains on the carpet, holes in ...

Having pipes leak causing water damage. The thermostat goes down to 40 degrees without being touched. There are dips under the carpet. Door stoppers are needed. Lights are flickering. Going from dim to bright.

I purchased my home on 12/6/2021. My move-in date kept getting pushed back. The sales rep that initially handled my purchase quit and I fell into the proverbial cracks. I was never told the appliances I chose were not available when I was buying the matching refrigerator, so my kitchen doesn't match. I was never called in to choose my flooring, during the build my a/c unit came in before they poured the cement slab down so my a/c unit is on cement blocks and the builder down right refused to fix it and do it right. I had to get things in writing for any future issues that may come along. ...

From the initial signing of the contract I was misinformed, misled and not informed of decisions that would impact my home or my closing. I was shown a home initially that was supposed to be similar to my build before signing the contract that had all the bells and whistles only to be told after my house comes with “none” of it i.e iron rails, trey ceilings, blinds, ceiling fans, crown molding, sprinklers ,large kitchen island, toilets not made for toddlers and nor can I add it to my expense. I had several mortgage consultants give me incorrect information about incentives and additional ...

Sales experience was great. We were told many things by our salesperson. Only a few of those things were honored by the builder. I did not appreciate the initial price hike for my house that happened simply because 2 lots were sold before my salesperson delivered my contract. My price was increased $8 000 per sold lot for a total of $16,000 in those 2 days. The workmanship was questionable from the time they started the frame. There were crooked support beams under window frames, crooked window & door frames. Studs had pieces of wood missing from them, because they are glued together to ...

Poor auality of workmanship and materials
- Fernando D.

Centex constructions manager and warranty personnel are not on top of things. The workmanship is inferior, and the quality of the house is not what I was expected for someone paying over $300,000 in San Antonio. Two months after closing escrow, Centex never completed the items identified during our home walkthrough. The second-story floors are squeaky and uneven. I am concerned about the way Centex framed my house. The exterior painting was poorly done. You can see all the irregular spray marks all over the place. The driveway and front of the house were dirty, and the roof was full of paint. ...

Drywall was, and is still, terrible, the finishing guy kept telling me it was done and it wasn't even close. They can't even finish it STILL. Embarrassed to live in it or show anyone else. Patched up the errors with caulk, every error. Paint missing on portions of the wall. Drywall tape still popping out. Drywall texture still missing. No one cares when I tell them to fix it. It's been over a month since I signed. They tried to put a light oak trim filler in the cabinets with dark cherry color and thought I wouldn't notice. Paint splatter and caulking on the floors, window glass, and ...

Worst builder I've ever worked with
- Christopher S.

This house was built so poorly, I would need to take over 100 photos to show someone. I can't even begin to try and describe the issues from walls being crooked, lack of 90-degree angles, lack of caulk where it needs to be, massive gaps that were caulked instead of properly worked. The trades this company hires to do their work are absolutely garbage. Overall worst experience and in the community Facebook group, I am one of the hundreds of people who have had a worse or similar experience. Centex should be closed down.

Our overall new home build experience has not been a good one with Centex/Pulte. I want to start off with the fact that key contacts for us changed during the build process. First our Sales Consultant changed halfway through the build and then our construction manager changed. Overall, we did not have a problem with Lisa on the sales side but when Ana was our Agent she put the primary cell phone number for us incorrectly, so throughout the entire process our build, the building managers, mortgage company, title company, and whoever else had our number wrong which delayed multiple things. It ...

Centex Homes - The total project from start to finish was a complete nightmare.

The total project from start to finish was a complete nightmare. I still have things that need to be addressed/fixed The quality of the carpet and the faux floor is not made of quality material. The concrete is pealing in the garage and around the front door. The ceiling in kitchen and the great room has two large patches where product was over sprayed. The trim in the kitchen are not flushed. The kitchen exit door has dents and the window has a scratch in the glass. One of the worse made homes I have ever lived in.

My rental home was in better condition than what I thought would be a new home. My wife says the habitat for humanity home she grew up in didn't have as many errors. I don't know whether to trust any repairs would be more than just patch work rather than actually correcting the building errors and lack of craftsmanship. I regret buying a Centex home I regret trusting Centex with building my home. I don't know whether to just walk away from this home it's saddening to know Centex builders have such a low moral standard when building homes. I've called the building manager several times with no ...
