The quality of the house is NOT close to the Centex Home I bought 20 years ago. The walls are not straight, kick boards look like snakes. Even after three walk throughs, I still find walls are not straight up. So I gave up pointing out the problems. I can show you the issues. My address is 5818 Artcurus, San Antonio, TX 78218. I bought this Pulte Home because of the solid house I bought from Centex/Pulte in Retama Park in 2003. The workmanship back then was great, I had no problems at all for the entire 8 years I lived in it. Because of that experience, I decided to buy this house as investment early this year. During buying this house, your sales Alex and construction customer service Walker are great, courteous and professional. But the workmanship of the house is not what I expected. Construction people gave timely updates on build progress and the mortgage people at the closing office were really nice.

Workmanship can get better, there was a lot of areas that were different measurement such as windows. Several doors had large gaps on the bottom. The huge one for me was that there was no blinds at all in the home, it is very hard to find the all the measurements. there are over 10 windows in the home.

The home ostelf is nice and, if made with care, would have been a great home. Unfortunately, I was not given any spicket for the backyard, the floors creek, and laying down the sod was shoddy. Make sure you notice as much as you can before closing because after you do, good luck getting something worked on.

The final version of our home is great! It was a long process but worth the wait. I was sad to see some workmanship issues. Felt like they cut corners at times. House was not really ready at close in my opinion. Staff and project manager have been exceptionally good at making things right.

Not the right home if you are fairly meticulous and have a high level of attention to detail. The standards of finish on these homes are unfortunately low, including the final cleaning and especially the hasty caulking throughout. Having not been able to attend the final walkthrough, I was very regretful of my purchase when I did see the home.

The grass that was installed was terrible. Most didn’t have dirt connected to it and is straw now. I mentioned it to the contractor and he said they were switching sod companies that only benefited my neighbors that have really nice sod now.

Overcharging for houses that don’t have fans or garage door openers. Then telling me by not putting fans and garage door opener that I’m somehow saving money which is not at all.

Price is pretty comparable to other builders. The work however…SHODDY WORKMANSHIP!!! I wish I could post pictures. The turnaround time on the home was FAST but unfortunately the workmanship suffers. All the work from the cement subfloor to the paint and texture to the cabinets is poorly done. Unfortunately, we did not notice the majority of these things until we moved in. We closed two months earlier than expected so that should’ve been a red flag!!! Salesman and construction manager were very communicative though!

The build quality is not there most of the workers are drinking during the day no supervision project managers just come and unlock the house in the morning and lock it up in the evening they do not check every time a stage of the build is finished they wait till the end of the build I've never seen them punch any blue tape on the second floor homes exterior so I guess it's just what they can see at ground level on there exterior walk for imperfections both my exterior hose faucets were not secure to the 2x4 and my master bathroom leaked into my downstairs bedroom they forgot to tighten the connection to the pipe shoty work because lack of supervision landscape laid right on top of your weeds no tilling my tree died already they said there's no warranty on landscape me and my neighbor got the same keys for our homes so I went and purchased my own they said no reimbursement could be made for me were the quality and the stand behind pledge? ... We ended up getting reassigned a new construction manager halfway through the build process (Brandon) who made sure to communicate and coordinate with us throughout the build process. Pleasant experience overall.

Good home buying process and great family neighborhood!

This has been the most challenging and most unprofessional process I have gone through. Let me start with the workmanship; our house is still being worked on because of the awful job done throughout the house. Our cabinets, countertops, stove, drywall, restrooms, and porch needs to be fixed. The construction manager did an awful job making sure things were done correctly. Now trustworthiness, I left on vacation for eight days after closing and was told that all the repairs were going to be done during the time I was gone. When I came back, the only repair completed was the drywall, and the men working on the drywall didn't place anything on the rug/tile to protect it, and now drywall residue is stuck on the rug/tile. They missed so many things on the list of repairs, and I came home to a messy house. I could feel the drywall residue stuck to my tub and many other spots around the house. I had to argue with the construction manager to get these things repaired. Finally, their responsiveness. Halfway through the process, my original construction manager quit, and I received a message stating that my new construction manager would reach out shortly. I waited for an entire month without a response, and I decided I would get ahold of him. Well, it turns out he forgot to reach out. My communication was like this throughout the entire process. This experience was excellent. Kara took care of answering all of our questions up front and guiding us through the process as the home progressed. It was also a pleasure working with Ryan and Brooks who teamed up at different points in the process as our construction managers. I would highly recommend Centex if you are looking for a great build quality, excellent staff, and an awesome warranty team.

I want to recommend CENTEX to everyone who is looking to buy a house. They were great every step of the way! They make sure the process was smooth and you can tell they CARE!!! Thank you for helping me get my parents their dream home!!

The Centex team were helpful and worked to get us in the house but the quality of the home is subpar. Windows are misshapen, walls aren’t straight, grass was laid poorly, etc. We’re not pleased and we might have made a mistake buying a home from Centex.

There seem to be several quality issues- Landscaping- the sod refuses to grow, it was installed already brown and dead and has not grown or turned green regardless of watering. I would say at least 1/4 of the lawn was not actual sod but just grass clippings placed on top of dirt. - piping leaked under the sinks. Needed to have plumber fix. Took a few days - electrical issues with the water heater. Took almost 2 weeks to rectify. - it also appears the doors in the house were not undercut- they are approx. 1 1/2”-2” above the finished floor- all the doors. - we were told the home would be a “smart home” and yet the underground wires for internet are not complete and will not be complete for at least another month. The sales team gave us a Hot Spot puck, but that only provides enough for minimal wifi. So we don’t know when we will get actual wired wifi. - paint overspray all over the place from painters - concrete surfaces gave globs of mortar that were never chipped off.
