Love our house but feel like an afterthought to the builder they had completed the sale

Overall the buying process was pretty seamless. I liked that all the parties involved were part of the same company so that helped make sure everything went relatively smoothly. We purchased a home that the original buyer had dropped out of so we didn’t experience any of the selection process but happy with what the other buyers picked. After moving in though we noticed a lot of workmanship issues that we missed during the excitement of the pre-move in walkthroughs. Things you can definitely tell they were rushing to finish before our closing date that got moved up 2 weeks. Paint drops on the ...

It was very rushed. They care more about the money than the quality, It was about closing out contracts at end of year

I wish that i moved into my house with a smile on my face. What should have been a great experience was less than due to the amount of little things that have needed attention. Now the people who have been working with me to resolve the issues have been great. The builder and quality of their work has left a lot to be desired.

Sales and warranty support was good but as far as quality and workmanship goes, its terrible. Walls are misaligned, interior and exterior painting was terribly done. Word of advice, stay away and go with other builders.

The warranty department is a headache to work with. There is little to no communication between trades, warranty department and homeowner. Three times warranty work has be scheduled and no one shows up or notifies you of any cancellations.
Century Communities responded:
Thank you for your feedback. With the current COVID19 situation it's been difficult to schedule trades as they have been on lock down as well. We look forward to getting the green light to start scheduling you and others.

Sales process was good. No issues. The superintendents did not seem to care about quality or schedule. Major issues were still being addressed even on closing day...it was a 9-19 month build from contract to close...there should have been plenty of time to address issues in that time. Still dealing with quality issues. Several warranty items have been easier since closing. The warranty team has been fantastic and responsive.

Through the whole process it seems like everything is rushed through and you end up with/without options you didn’t/did want. We tried to change options a few days after we signed but by then it was “too late.” After you home is built, good luck getting a response back from anyone from the front office of the community. They are not helpful and never respond back to you unless you go to them face-to-face. Beware of the “referral” program. It doesn’t exist unless it is financed into the loan of the people that you referred. Feels like they’re extremely greedy and push you through the door ...

It took me a while to complete this survey, since I was hoping Century Community construction manager will complete all things corrected in our pre-closing pending items for builder to fix in a timely manner, but it's NOT the case. It has been a little bit over 3 months since we moved into to our place and items prior closing haven't all fixed yet and still no feedback from construction manager or sales. Unfortunately Century does not have a hot line or a number where you can complain about the the lack of communication from construction manager. I should it pay closer attention to the ...

There are things form my drywall walk through that still haven't been fixed. They refused to give me a floor plan with dimensions and now things are smaller than I expected and my car doesn't fit in the garage. The builder also put a $2MM bond on the HOA that all the residents have to not pay back in their taxes.

A lot of the Cosmetic defects that were pointed out and "blue taped" were never fixed. Every time Century sent some one out to "fix" things, it was almost always incomplete work or poor workmanship. The people they sent never knew what or why they where sent to my home. It is extremely frustrating to get anyone to complete the work properly. It's not worth filing a warranty claim. Having spent over 600k on a new build we definitely did not feel like we got our money's worth.

The quality of the building materials and install is below standard for a private residence even for a track home. The quality is similar to that of an apartment complex. There are limitations to the combinations of the items you can upgrade. You must stay with what the design team has put together in their design package ideas for your home you are purchasing. The response to issues are good, however; the workmanship for the repairs is not any better than the original workmanship and the trades need to keep coming back to "attempt" the repairs the same things. During the loan process, the ...

Sales “agents” are not very knowledgeable or serviceable. Certainly not customer focused as they will simply sell the home to another buyer instead of working with purchaser. Sales agents speak about neighboring homeowners to other purchasers and are otherwise unprofessional. Punch lists still incomplete after sale (unsurprisingly, as this seems to be a common issue, but it is surprising how unwilling they are complete lists). Concrete steps and garage floor are concave and hold standing water. Upgrades installed poorly, excuse given was we designed “a complicated house”. Overall a ...

My experience with this builder was that I was often told things that were untrue and they were impossibly frustrating to get a hold of. When I agreed to purchase I was told I’d have a fenced in backyard and patio. I ended up with a balcony only. I was told one thing for the downstairs footprint, and reality was different - when I. Asked about it they said they weren’t going to change it to what I was told. They also changed my closing date 3 times after giving me an initial promised date. When I would try to get a hold of them to ask questions, they would not answer unless I physically ...

My new build was extremely delayed (5 months) which might be have been fine on its own if not for the poor communication. I was not given timely updates and was given timelines that were highly unrealistic based on the progress I could see on the house. I would send emails, texts, call and often not hear back for a week which was extremely frustrating as I needed updates in order to figure out my living situation and to work with my lender. They did not take into consideration any of the items identified in my independent inspection. They had me do my “final” walkthrough prior to toilets ...

Century Communities - We could not make any changes and were misled on what was included

We could not make any changes and were misled on what was included with the home. Additionally the construction manager quit with no notice and left his employees to fix the issues he never addressed. The homes are being built way too fast with sloppy workmanship and poor quality building materials and appliances. Additionally the HOA dues cover snow removal but no one showed...residents had to clear the streets. I love the location but seriously disappointed in the quality.

If you buy one of these homes be prepared to stay on them throughout the build process. We were not able to do that and are in the middle of warranty issues just to bring the house up to acceptable standards let alone the sloppy workmanship in some areas and subpar materials. If you could find another builder I would highly suggest it.

We moved in to Mayfield back in December 2020. Needless to say there were multiple red flags throughout the home building experience. On the day of closing we found out our Hot Water heater was not working, toe kick in the bathroom missing, and the house not cleaned and filthy. Through out the last few months, we have had electrical issues, HVAC issues, and now AC issues. This month the AC was the third major failure of the home. If you are thinking it is a fluke, both Niagra and Newport St homes have electrical issues, water heater issues, and HVAC issues. In fact it is so bad, we cannot ...

The builders lender quoted a competitive interest rate before we signed the contract and then the rate was 1.5 points higher when we were ready to lock (3 days later). We told them we were backing out and somehow the rate came down a full point. Throughout the process the lender representatives spelled our names incorrectly (different ways each time) and sent emails with required information to the wrong email addresses. Thank goodness they somehow got our realtor's email address correct, or we would still be waiting to get information from them. While at closing, the lender called the title ...
