Hard to deal with warranty department and a lot of incomplete tasks inside and outside house, I do have an AC issue since day on my second floor, several complaints been made and Century don't assume to resolve the problem, since AC system wasn't designed properly to deliver the right amount of cooling and heating. Driveway problem almost impossible to drive in due a very sharp and deep edge which hit out cars tires badly every time. Community fence border with HWY Century Builder build it half way other half Century Reps. Said no interest to be completing the fence. Materials inside the home very cheap and bad working could be better, as Cabinets, paints, etc. ... More

The builders don’t keep their promise to correct visible problems like botched drywall and messy paint jobs. One bathroom has the hot/cold water switched we almost burned our hands. Sales rep. not knowledgeable about certain features so it is best you ask someone in charge so you don’t buy a home and realize things you were advised were standard are an add on. You are given cheap mulch, sod and shrubs.

Trees, bushes and sod are buried or placed on red clay and rocks without soil amendment. Plants, trees and grass struggle to grow. Management ignores it. Trees with root balls need to be buried in a hole 2-3 times the root ball size with healthy soil to survive. 2nd floor buckled when furniture was set in place.

Love the style of home, but I continue to encounter issues around workmanship and poor follow up from the company. For instance, I Had a warranty issue and though I followed the online process per the builder, I never received a call from the warranty department to complete the process. I contacted the community warranty leader to get the job done. From the time I reported water damage to the time of completion of the issue and the aesthetics was well over a month, for an issue that could have been addressed in one day. No “crew” was onsite for more than 20 minutes to correct my problem. But Very frustrating to take lead on getting each crew out, as the lack of response from the warranty department was huge. After the initial call, I never heard from the department again. Overall, The paint job and quality of the building of this home was very poor and the crew that executed the work was unskilled and unprofessional. The theme that rings clear to me in this community is you get a bang for your buck, so the lack of quality is to be expected. Very disappointing. I purchased my home in September 2019. Century is now refusing to complete warranty work unless I remove my domestic partner from our home due to a few strongly worded emails he sent to the warranty manager after poor communication from Century as to when repairs would be made. I now have a damaged floor, damaged exterior column, cracked tiles in the master bath shower that remain in disrepair. Someone from Corporate needs to get involved as we do not trust the Atlanta legal and mgmt team. We would like to avoid a lawsuit. All I am asking is that Century meet its contractual obligations & complete the warranty work without spurious restrictions as to who can be in the home while the repairs are being made. ... More

I have totally been unhappy with my home and level of responsiveness. My entire process was such a horrible experience. This is my 5th home, 3rd new home purchase and by far, this has been the worst. I feel like my money was just taken. Completely unhappy all the way around.

check Everything no matter how small it seem

Electric, paint, frame, concrete subcontractors dont know what they are doing. My husband and I have done better work on our home improvement projects.

Sales process was great. Quality of home is fine. However, the weekend prior to closing Century failed to secure our home, and subcontractors used our home as a break room. Due to work boots, Sheetrock mud, etcetera, our hardwoods were destroyed. We’re almost 4 months out now and century still hasn’t done the right thing and replaced them, even though their representatives agree that needs to happen. We have other issues as well. After sale, even though people are “nice” nothing seems to get accomplished. We’re extremely sad to say that we can not recommend Century due to post sale issues.

Take time throughout different times during the week and weekend. High HOA fees with no benefits other than a pool. No security, no park, no tags to identify residents from guest. Extremely fast driving, home warranty department has taken three months to respond to a claim I submitted.

As home building has become a day laborers occupation, the former craftsman is now a dinosaur in the industry. With the need for rapid closing times, and completion rates, the industry as a whole has adopted a standard of per-fabricated faux material, and lower overall costs; they, the industry, willing sacrifices quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail. The only people that suffer from this model are the homeowners. The reality is that most homeowners don't even realize they suffer from the effects of this business model as the awe and shock of ownership is very appealing, As a family we have many grips with this process, and although we know we are not alone in our dissatisfaction, with the quality of the home and the plans for the community, legally we are without recourse. In my casual conversation with many members of the community, there seems to be a very common theme of unhappiness and frustration, however, "I guess we will just have to deal with it," positions. I will never recommend this company to anyone. Cheap materials and poor work ethics!

Century runs all design, construction, and management decisions from a corporate level without granting any flexibility to the individual markets. They care 100% on numbers and not perception or customer feedback. My 30 day post closing review that criticized Century's processes was used to reprimand the local team who were doing everything they could under the constraints of the corporate policies coming out of Denver. I have also had to fight for repairs under warranty that were deemed unnecessary until the 10-month warranty repair, with a complete lack of understanding that the items need to be repaired now due to seasonal issues coming up or potential larger repairs in 10 months by not fixing a small item now. I will never build another house with Century and do not recommend them to anyone. ... More

It's been over a month and still issues has been resolved

The house is beautiful, but the details show many issues. The paint job on the base molding is not smooth you can actually see the spray and the dots. This makes it difficult to clean with the surface is not smooth. The drywall has soo many issues, the workers really did not care when they worked on my house. Walking into the model home everything looks amazing and how a nee build show look. But my house does not have the same care that went into making the model. There is nail coming out of my corner round and is painted. Like how careless can one be? It is very dangerous and hard to see because it was painted over. And I never received my screens for my windows??? No one has spoke to me about this issue at all. I am over this house and have only been living here about three month. The ac and heat upstairs is different on both sides of my house. One side is cool and or warm and the other side hardly feel the heat or cool coming out of the vents. As a first time home buyer i would have never imagined that this would have been such a stressful process from day one i moved into our home it has been nothing but problems & we've been in the house for about 3 months now either something wasn't done right or it was done very poorly. i feel with this builder all they care about is closing on the home and getting there money and if there's are done wrong they either tell you "that's how it is" or there's nothing that can be done and expect you to just say OK and that's it. Price wise for the homes are good & decent but the poor workmanship isn't worth all the headache personally i wouldn't recommend this builder to either my family or friends and that's just me being honestly due to my experience and what i have gone thru people do your research ... My new house was put together by some people that had no regard for what a new home was suppose to look like and taken care of ! We are documenting all the discrepancies left behind by this company that now we have to wait a year that hopefully can be fixed. We feel that we made a mistake buying from century!!

Worst experience through out all phases - contract, buying, warranty issues. Sales agents do not have any information/experience with their job, you always get wrong information. Building quality is poorest. I moved in 2 months back. I already have multiple serious issues. One of them is water leak in basement. Warranty: You will never get a response from warranty nor issues will get fixed

The materials used in the building of our house and the workmanship were both substandard. It would be an extremely lengthy review to detail all the issues regarding the inferior materials used and the amateurish workmanship. Some of the highlights or lowlights are the trim lacks sanding/smoothing, paint missing from trim and barely covering drywall, floor tile that has black marks that can't be removed, deck fireplace without a switch to turn it on and off, window blinds that don't work, stair railings and cabinet toe kicks not properly stained as well as stair railing parts not properly joined containing gaps, interior doors rough and not sanded, casing work that contains gaps and gouges, baseboards with gaps and gouges in them, cold air coming out of vents when the HVAC is not running, the front porch railing has gaps where the wood should meet and was not properly sanded and the list goes on. In addition to the problems enumerated above, the house was not cleaned before we moved in even though we delayed moving in by one day--particularly the windows which were very dirty inside and outside. While some of these items may be construed as cosmetic in nature, they still demonstrate poor quality of workmanship and materials, thus the rating of 1 star. The Builder, John has worked with us on some of these issues as they existed before we closed escrow on the house and we trusted him and the company that they would be true to their word and fix/repair the issues noted. We are now working with Shane in the Warranty department and he has to his credit tried to resolve most of the issues on our list going back to before we closed escrow and moved in. However, it appears that he does not have the authority to resolve some of the major issues remaining. So, to the extent that John and Shane have the ability to address and resolve the issues, 3 stars were given to responsiveness and not 1. The deck fireplace that we paid $5,000 for as an option requires you to get on your hands and knees, remove the fake kindling, use a lighter to light the pilot and then push in on an igniter in the hope that it will catch and you get flames without burning your face or some other body part. We are unaware of how you should turn it off when done with its use. The deck fireplace does not operate by flipping a switch up or down. Again, this is an example of the poor materials used in the building of this house and it not being a good value. The rating for trustworthiness and responsiveness for the builder John and the warranty specialist, Shane would be 5 stars as we believe they have truly tried their best within the constraints they are working with. As regards Century Communities, they would receive 0 stars as the value for the price paid is very inadequate. Normal expectations do not exist for such things as 2 coats of interior paint, semi-gloss or gloss paint for kitchen and bathroom walls, tile and grout sealing, gas line hookup and 2 electrical outlets in the laundry room for a gas dryer, exterior basement door that is industry-standard width of 38 inches, full-size access door for mechanical equipment/sump pump in the basement, insufficient kitchen cabinets and counters, hardware on both sides of French patio door for opening/closing--just to name a few They are untrustworthy and lacking in good and responsive customer service. This is our 5th new home and 8th overall home purchase spanning over 40 years. By far it is the absolute worst in terms of quality, materials used and issues. This home cost over a half million dollars which we have previously purchased a home for over half a million dollars so we know what to expect which is why 1 star was given for the value for the price paid. Workmanship and quality of materials is builder grade apartment garbage that belongs nowhere near a 400k "custom " built home. Once you sign for your closing, you're nearly irrelevant and dealing with 15 different people for each issue that no one team seems responsible for to check in or see to it they ever get closed or adequately handled. It's beyond unprofessional, and disappointing to say the very least. Basically a complete waste of money. Do not use Century Communities

This is starting to be the worst home buying experience ever in my life. From the beginning of trying to switch me as the primary on the loan, to the Air Conditioner in the house being way too loud & sounding like a hurricane. The next two issues deals with the A/C condensation lines releasing large amounts of water, that is destroying the landscaping/soil of the yard. This is due to the incline/grade of the yard. The next issue is; moving into the home and not having the stakes on the right side of the house, to see our boundary line for landscaping.
