Rushed Job

We love the house and the community. Overall the process was easy getting in but unfortunately there were a handful of minor issues that just felt like the house was rushed to finished. Now it has been dragging for months to get things taken care of. Just very frustrating to spend so much on a house to see things cracked, crooked, or warping.

Century Communities responded:
Thank you for your feedback Robert. We will contact the division directly as well.

Small Details Missed and No Follow Up

The sales and design process were great, but follow up on construction issues is non-existent. Several spots on the exterior were supposed to be touched up and we have a few missing pieces of trim in the kitchen. We were also told we would be given some extra paint, but never received it. The issues could have been easily taken care of when the construction crews were still here completing the last homes in the community, but they were not.

Century Communities responded:
Thank you Pete for your candid response. We will forward this to the team in LV to have someone contact you.

Everyone was friendly and willing to answer all my questions during the buying process. Love that we were able to visit the site and see the process during building.

After being here for a couple of months I am starting to notice small things like nails sticking thru the carpets, especially on the stairs. I have a hole in my shower that I reported almost a month ago and still no response. I expect to find small things but I also expect a reply when I submit a service ticket.

Buying experience was great as both Victor and Robin were very helpful in updating us with the construction progress. Design center was helpful, the upgrade price was too high comparing with outside contractors doing the same work though. Follow up work is terrible. Three months after we moved in, we are still waiting for the builder to repair the items noted in the walk-through. Other items discovered later including the laundry room cabinet appeared to be installed upside down. Exterior touch-up pint, which could be done while the construction workers were still doing the construction ...

Century Communities - Mary was a exceptional sales agent.

Mary was a exceptional sales agent. However, there was an issue with the construction and the floor plan. Century tried make it seem my fault which was totally false and charged me to fix it. I believe they are totally unprofessional and bullied the small guy. Terrible experience for an1st time home buyer. I hope I don’t regret moving in later

Our realtor had to run interference for us at times. The builder agent disappeared shortly after the signed contract, but fortunately we were able to speak with another one to work through the build. Financing was easy with the preferred lender, but there was little info relayed regarding the house status during construction. I built a relationship with the foreman to keep informed. We rushed financing to close in mid-December then SILENCE only to FINALLY close in late January after initiating the contract in early July. Due to the massive construction boom, I feel owners are not held as ...

After the closing you WILL be ignored. Beware of the person on the walkthrough. Do not let him rush you, check every last detail. If you miss something during the walkthrough it may never be addressed. We have been waiting almost 4 months for electrical issues, doorbell not working and a few other minor issues we missed during our walkthrough. Because of this I do not recommend this builder.

Century Communities Needs an Update

Century Communities seems like it set in their traditional ways. Builder should offer more options that competitors are offering. Simple things such as a tankless water heater, LED bulbs, and more. Also, there are plenty of quality control problems that surface. However, the warranty department has been helpful and diligent aside from a few delays.

Century Communities responded:
Thank you for your feedback. All comments are distributed to the appropriate departments.

builder is not responsive to requests for fixing things (touch-up, cracked, etc..)after moved in. It has been 3 months and there is no response to the requests. Electrical outlet and ceiling vent were not mounted and dangling during move in. Debris and trash were left on the side yards.

Oh where to begin? Ok first...how about the positive (since that's the much shorter list and the one I know Century and the customer service rep will be looking for first). We love the design and layout of our home. It is a beautiful LAYOUT and well thought out. We are very happy with THAT and feel it stands out versus the million other builder designs we looked at. Also, I DO have to say Century has been responsive to what feels like the 4 million issues we have had since we stepped foot through the door of our home in September 2019. Our Customer Service contact has been responsive and ...

Prior to buying our first brand new home we have never heard of Century Communities. We did our research and did a lot of looking at their competitors. In the end we chose Century based on the price, location and what we found in our research as they seemed to be a good builder. It started off well but then became very stressful about 3 months into the building process. Let me start with the good: 1. Sales and loan team were great and had zero issues with anyone! 2. Working with the Design Center was a great experience. Lots of options to really customize your house and make it your own. ...

A Cautionary Tale!

  • Brandon ..

Let me start by saying our subpar review is aimed completely at construction and their lacking quality and has nothing to do with Centuries Sales Team. During our “soft walk” our customer service rep. noted that the construction was behind, and he was right, my wife and I had no choice but to take possession. We never truly received our final walk, Miguel (Superintendent) met us an hour before we were supposed to receive keys and walked the house while workers were still finishing up. We were assured by Miguel that all fixes to paint (interior and exterior) as well as damage to doors, ...

Century Communities responded:
Brandon- We've been in contact with the team and understand they are in contact with you regarding your concerns and working with you through them. Thank you for sharing your experience. There's always take a way's to learn from in the home building process to make sure they are not repeated. We'll work with the team on this.

Would Not Recommend to Others

Buying process was good. Salesperson made some mistakes, but overall good. Lending process was very poor. This portion of the process was the most disappointing. Very rushed, way to fast paced, non-informative, and overall bad. Building process was ok, very sloppy and rushed toward the end. Obvious the builder was trying to meet a deadline, and that took priority over build quality. Overall experience, I was treated as a number after the sales process. Sad because this was my first new-home buying experience and my expectations were not met.

Century Communities responded:
Brian- thank you for taking the time to share with us your experience. We will be addressing this with the leadership and field teams.

When I had my walk-through and final inspection I pointed out some issues that I want to be corrected and when I moved in those issues are not corrected. I’ve been addressed them to the superintendent and he said that he was gonna stop by and he didn’t come by then I submitted a request to be a century homes portal website and I still have not received notice of when they should be corrected I am now living there for nearly 2 months and still not one call on my pending requests
