Poor quality and workmanship

The quality and workmanship of this home is horrible, especially the drywall work! We’re still finding a lot of issues that need to be addressed and fixed during our 10 month walk through! I’m very disappointed because I feel like the building process was rushed to close before the end of the year! The poor quality of workmanship is now showing! The house is beautiful, but we didn’t have quality contractors to build it!

I moved in December of last year and while i love the house and community i can’t say i love the company. The lot was not well kept while construction was going on so when remodeling i found Gatorade bottles and miscellaneous hardware and tools in my walls. I’ve only remodeled the bathroom so i could only imagine the waste in the other walls. They damaged two out of three tubs when they brought them in and only repaired them. Kind of disappointed with that but they were decent repairs. They also damaged my front door when putting in the door knob and have yet to come repair it. There were ...

We were very excited to move into our new home. However there were several issues, from big stains of paint on every single room with carpet to brand new walls with bad repaired holes. The rack on the laundry room was installed up side down, some cabinets have waves inside, the heater didn't work, there was a water leak on the master shower, the garage door opener motor had to be replaced, the solar system still doesn't work, there was a missing lid on one of the air vents, and some other minor issues. We had a good responsiveness to the big issues that absolutely needed to be fixed, however ...

Super disappointed with the follow through on the issues that the house has

Upon moving in, we noticed multiple sections of flooring in both downstairs kitchen and upstairs bathrooms were faulty. We contacted them and they brought glue! To fix it. As one imagines this was not the right solution. So I then went through the website and requested for these issues to be fixed. They came and looked and said it would be, and never followed back. I then contacted them again and was told someone would call and schedule it and we still have not heard back. Also upstairs bedroom flooring has a major drop in the floor and that issue is still unresolved. After talking to other ...

Sales and warranty support was good but as far as quality and workmanship goes, its terrible. Walls are misaligned, interior and exterior painting was terribly done. Word of advice, stay away and go with other builders.

The quality of workmanship is the worst I have even seen. The bathroom tiles are not flat on the flat surface. The gaps between tiles are not even. The appearance of the tile work is so ugly that we may consider remodeling the bathrooms soon.

Century homes are aesthetically pleasing and quite large. It was nice to be able to have a wide range of options to customize the house and its design features. However, the home is poorly built as exemplified by nails pushing back out of the wall in numerous rooms and areas, cracks around the windows and in the corners, and damaged cabinets. Our A/C broke right away in 100 degree weather and they waited 3 days to fix it (house became too hot to live in). The employees managing the customer services side of the project were unresponsive, rude, and hard to communicate with. Construction ...

Do not sign the Pre-Close Orientation document before all the items are completed by your project builder, otherwise you will be chasing down the builder to follow up on the pending items. I learnt the hard way.

The integrity from one construction manager (CM) to the next within the same development vary significantly. A neighbor’s CM was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond. Ours simply was not and only did what he was asked for repeatedly and I ally told to do by his or her supervisors.

Thank you for sharing. We wish all matters to be resolved at the point of sale at the end of the day we are happy that your concerns were addressed through the manager.

The warranty department is a headache to work with. There is little to no communication between trades, warranty department and homeowner. Three times warranty work has be scheduled and no one shows up or notifies you of any cancellations.
Century Communities responded:
Thank you for your feedback. With the current COVID19 situation it's been difficult to schedule trades as they have been on lock down as well. We look forward to getting the green light to start scheduling you and others.

Overall our homebuying experience was ok. The process to purchase the home was no problem and being able to visit the site and ask questions initially was great. During our first walk-through of our home, we were told many portions of the house still needed to be finished but we were still were able to mark many problems with what was "finished". During our second walk-through, most of the problems we marked were not fixed and we marked additional problems during our second walk-through. We were reassured that these problems would be fixed by the time we move in. Move-in day, we found that ...

Century wants everyone to think they care after the sale but the missed deadlines to get problems fixed shows there is a problem somewhere in the management chain. Lower end materials are used in construction. Anything above low end must be added on at a price.

- why push to close when the house had so many issues that needed to be resolved? - 5/6 months later and I still have unresolved issues from pre closing walk through - paint/detail job was poor and unexcusable as "faults of the house" - nail is sticking up from floor, underneath the carpet (from move in) and still not resolved - cabinet drawer in kitchen was chipped from preclosing walk through and still not resolved - front lawn has a huge hole where water comes out of and floods the sidewalk and flies congregate there - lack of communication -would never recommend anyone to buy ...
