Generations of Homebuilders In 1966, Charles V. Simms served as President of the Ohio Home Builders Association. In 1969, Charles V. Simms served as President of the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Dayton. Starting in 1985 Charles began working with his son, Charles H. Simms. They continued to offer innovative home designs in the most desirable locations. Simms' Monument Walk in Downtown Dayton was featured on the Distinctive Homes cover in the Oakwood Register. It featured a full article on Dayton's newest luxury addresses brought to you by Charles Simms Development. Charles H. Simms becomes President of Charles Simms Development working closely with his father Charles V. Simms. Charles V. Simms received the coveted Robert E. McDaniel Leadership Award Presented by the Home Builders Association of Dayton. The National Association of Home Builders named Simms the “National Multi-Family Builder of the Year” in 1995. A new era began in 1996 with Charles H. Simms carrying on the Simms Tradition by purchasing his father’s company. Now, thirty years later, Charles H. Simms has built over 1500 homes, townhomes, and condos. He continues to provide the “Quality Comes First” leadership the Simms Family is known for in Dayton and the Miami Valley. In 1999 Charles H. Simms became President of the Home Builders Association of Dayton and the Miami Valley. Charles H. Simms continues to find the Simms niche in condo building around the Miami Valley dubbed “Condo Mania” by the Dayton Business Journal. In 2008 Charles H. Simms became President of the Ohio Home Builders Association. In 2009 Simms was featured on the cover of Dayton B2B Magazine. The Dayton B2B article focused on highlighting the success of Simms communities as the country was coming out of the recession. In 2010 Simms was awarded the Home Builders Association of Dayton and the Miami Valley’s “Industry Pioneer Award.”
