I lived in Seattle and moved to Minnesota, so my ENTIRE Home Buying process was done over the phone & on-line!! The homes are put up quickly and often times things are overlooked r just not finished. Beware every little thing adds up quickly so it is easy to add $50,000+ to your home quit even noticing. You will spend extra of your own money fixing the shoddy taping in the garage and repainting as the paint quality is very inferior. The homes are crowded in and it seems that every inch of space is filled. However, the facilities are too small for the number of homes and they will never be able to hold events for the entire community which makes getting to know people hard. I used to have a Del Webb winter home in Palm Desert, California. It was beautiful! When I saw a Del Webb community in Minnesota I was ecstatic! Everything started out great! Once we moved in we had issues. Our floor popped up in the front foyer, we had rain come under our back door and it ruined that flooring, tar in new driveway sunk in spots, main shower drips, waves in trim outdoors, substandard paint used on walls throughout house…. We had someone take out damaged flooring, but that was almost 6 weeks ago! Calling customer service has been a nightmare to contact. There is a recorded message for customer service that says they are “at a meeting”. I paid a premium price for our lot and our guest bedroom is 12 feet from the neighbors garage. Don’t get me wrong, we love our home, the community, and the amenities. However, we wish we could get our issues resolved. We do have a year warranty but some things shouldn’t have to wait a year. All of our neighbors have had the same issues as us, so it appears that Pulte builds homes using the cheapest methods "the home building code" will allow. In example, we have a walkout rambler with an unfinished basement. You can feel the counter bounce when some walks across the floor. Everyone is having this same issue but Pulte will just tell you they did everything to code. If you bring in an engineer, they will tell you that you will need to consider strongbacks. We built a rambler previous to this about 20 years ago with an unfinished basement and NEVER had this issue. All Pulte cares about is quickly banging out tons of homes, operating like an assembly line. They're like a big corporate machine. We've already spent a ton of money on this house and will now spend more to fix this issue on our own. ... More

Bob, our sales person, provided exceptional service and his interpersonal skills are excellent. He provided answers to all our questions and if he didn’t have the information on hand he quickly sought out an answer. There was no pressure to buy which we appreciated. It was a pleasure working with Bob. Jim, our building superintendent, was also great to work with . He kept us apprised of progress on our home’s construction and always answered our questions promptly. This is the ninth home we have had built. Six were custom homes followed by two homes built in another active adult community. Thus with our previous active adult experiences we were not surprised about the smaller space between the homes, the limited number of options available in most areas of the construction, along with no custom work being done. For lack of a better word, these are “cookie cutter” homes constructed rapidly but the end product is good. Option costs are somewhat higher than most people would expect them to be. In our opinion buyers of homes in most active adult communities have to look at the “total package” they are purchasing. They are getting a nice home along with various amenities not found in most neighborhoods. The HOA assures the homes values will be maintained with their rules and regulation. And, one of the major benefits is the opportunity to live among older adults who are also interested in pursuing an active lifestyle in their senior years. The many organized activities offered provide numerous opportunities for interaction and the development of friendships. ... More

I had a very positive experience buying my new home. Lisa sent me weekly updates and pictures of my home as it was being built. My questions and concerns were addressed in a timely manner. I would recommend Pulte to other new buyers.

We didn’t have a one-on-one personal experience with the builder only because our home was a completed spec home when we purchased it, so we didn’t actually meet the builder until shortly before closing. When we did meet, we were as impressed with him as we were the home! We are very happy here,

All aspects of the process seem to be a well oiled machine. I was kept informed all the way through the process and questions were answered promptly or appropriately redirected. I was never left guessing or wondering.

Home delivered on time and in move-in-ready shape. Upgrades were worth the extra expense. A quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors. And plenty of activities to be a part of.

Colleen and Jim could not have been more helpful as we moved through the building process. We were out of state during construction, but were kept up to date at every important juncture. The end result was a beautiful home, just as we hoped it would be.

We have been looking for quite a while for a single story house that provides us some amenities and activities for the future. We found this area to be so lovely and so many great things in a short distance including a future Costco.

Overall pleased with the house and design selections. Would have liked to be able to customize a bit more. Communication from the Construction Manager was not always prompt or complete. Better communication would have made the entire experience more enjoyable and pleasant.

We had a great experience buying and building our new home in the Adelwood community. Everything came together in a timely manner and we were always kept apprised of how things were progressing. It seems like it will be a great community to be a part of!

Expensive, hasty build, poor quality, slow to remedy issues. Currently doing our own plumbing fix.

Colleen was an informative and responsive sales person--no pressure at all to make the sale. I had a realtor representing me because I was also looking at other homes, but I don't think it was necessary because Pulte staff are top notch. Tyler was a terrific construction manager--knowledgeable, patient, and responsive. I love my new home!

Three weeks before our close date, the dishwasher was installed wrong, resulting in a flooded kitchen. Flooring and cabinets had to be reordered and installed, resulting in a 3-day delay on our closing. When we finally moved in, we found the new kitchen flooring to be damaged once again and, after talking to our construction manager, we learned the plumber had flooded the kitchen when reinstalling the pipes. We are now awaiting our third kitchen floor. Last night my husband came home and found wet carpet in the guest bedroom. After further investigation, he discovered that the AprilAire system had not been properly installed and leaked from the second floor through the walls and into the lower-level bedroom. For me, the thrill of building and owning a new home has been lost in these issues. I'm currently living with a dehumidifier running full time, a half-cement kitchen floor, and a flooded bedroom with no end in sight to the construction that will need to be done to repair the unsatisfactory work by subcontractors. ... Our salesperson, Colleen L and construction manager, Jim L were always responsive and a pleasure to work with. The quality of construction Is generally very good, although the fit of the trim could be better. Also wish we had a better choice of electric ranges or the option to shop for our preferred brand. Otherwise, we are happy with our Adelwood home.

Our experience with all the Pulte Home people was exceptional. From the sales process through design, electrical selection and construction management. Very professional, respectful and helpful through the entire decision making process.

We were very pleased throughout the entire build process. Lisa found us the lot that made the difference in our move to Del Webb. Maggie went above and beyond with the little details and helping us with our custom beverage bar that was not part of the original specification. The final walk through exceeded our expectations.

Am disappointed in the timeline for landscaping, irrigation and sod. However, understand our neighbors have been waiting longer for these things - some since December 2022 and it is now September 2023.
