The buying process was straightforward. Our salesperson, Bob, was phenomenal. As expected, with a national builder, the opportunity to customize was limited, but Bob did an excellent job of explaining what options we did have. He was very prompt in his follow-up and he didn't pressure us at all. My only complaint about the buying process was the method Pulte used for selling our lot. A blind auction? C'mon, just tell me the price so I can decide if I want to buy it or not. During the construction phase, Bryan was also top notch. He allowed us to make a few non-structural changes that saved us a lot of money. He was always very prompt about returning phone calls and emails and, in general, did an excellent job of communicating what was happening throughout the construction process. The one thing I am disappointed with - and the reason I gave only 2 stars for responsiveness to issues, has to do with the utility box placement - specifically the cable box. Obviously utility boxes are necessary but the cable box is right in the middle of my front yard. There are other, less conspicuous locations where it could be placed but no one seems to want to help address this issue. And not only is the cable box in the middle of my front yard but the box itself is bigger than every other cable box in the development. I am very disappointed in Pulte's response to this issue and their willingness to work together to find a solution. ... More

Nick was great. He was very responsive to all issues as the house was being built. He handled everything in a timely manner and was very professional. Scott helped us get the lot we wanted and was on top of things and very responsive. Pulte policies are very restrictive as even minor requests were denied if it didn’t fit their rigid guidelines. Many requested upgrades were not available and simple asks were denied because it was “policy” to not honor. Quality and workmanship was a definite downgrade from last home which was twice as big and cost the same as this. The biggest difference is that the builder of last home, which was not custom, was very accommodating to address our asks that were within reason and materials were much higher quality. We understand that we are paying for the community more than the house, but quality of materials and some of the workmanship are not as good as advertised or expected. ... More

We love our new home! All of our dreams came true! The whole team of people have been so wonderful!

While we are still happy with our decision to build a new home with Del Webb (Pulte), the experience has been eye opening in terms of overall quality and the role the new home owner must play to push the builder to make things right. I am not a construction expert so why do I need to find things for them to fix? They have the expertise to see things that need attention.

Very accommodating to your special needs. No high pressure.

I was so excited to start this new adventure I may have overlooked the obvious. We bought the castlerock floor plan which is beautiful but has a lack of storage in the master closet and bath. Having a basement helps. There was no light fixture in the flex room. All wire shelving in the house is to cheap for the price of the home. Wall paint should be an eggshell not a flat paint every mark shows and isn’t easy to clean up. Escrow work is being completed and Nick has been very responsive to issues. Great guy!! Kitchen island is beautiful as well as the buffet. Closing was a shock. The builder penalized us for not being able to close on the builders timeline even after they were told twice we couldn’t close until a specific date. I’m ashamed of this multi million dollar company not having the ability to work with the client. So far we are enjoying the amenities that come with the hoa and looking forward to many more years here. ... More

The process to decide to build with Del web/Pulte was a pleasant experience.

Even though we lived out of state, we were kept informed on the progress of our home and the anticipated completion date. Our questions for Colleen and Jim were answered promptly. The process went smoothly from beginning to end.

Sometimes we wondered if we were crazy building a new home the same year we were retiring? Were we too old for this kind of project? The answer is NO because we had a great team of people who walked us through each step. Our salesperson was very clear about everything. A scary part for us was deciding on all the interior choices that had to be made. The designer actually made that process easy and fun and it took only a few hours. We were surprised that it all happened smoothly and all we had to do was give our input and sit back and wait!

Scott was great to work with. He is very knowledgeable about the product and honest in all our dealings. When the original house came in too high he worked with me for options to come up with an affordable house. Even found some discounts. I had two project managers. Both were very responsive with any issues (all minor) and followed up to make sure they were taken care of.

This was the first home we have built and the experience was absolutely perfect. They guided us through all the processes and answered all our questions quickly and thoroughly. The quality of our new home is excellent and we love it! Would definitely build with them again.

Bought home in minny then flew back to florida till spring. Have only spent 2 weeks there so far

We had built with Pulte in the past so we felt like the experience would be positive. However, we felt SO nickled and dimed this time. The house was overpriced for the quality of materials used. I feel like I bought a $650,000 starter home. Upgrades (and you needed a lot to make it feel like a decent house) were SO overpriced -- $500 for a faucet I can get at Lowes for $200? Seriously? (When we asked why it was so much more expensive, we were told the labor cost drove the price up. But I think it takes the same amount of time to install a cheap faucet as it does a more expensive one.) We decided to go with builder grade for all light fixtures and faucets because it was actually cheaper to buy better ones and pay someone to install them than to go with the options Pulte offered. We also learned, after we picked our lot and were through quite a bit of buying the process, that the sales person "forgot" that our lot had a $2,000 surcharge because it's on a corner. Surprise. Things like that just made us lose a lot of trust in Pulte. Additionally, the fact that the stairwell to the basement, is simply drywall -- no taping, no sanding. Just rough, crappy looking drywall and particle board stairs. For $650,000, you'd think Pulte could have finished the stairwell. On the bright side, working with Luke during the final phase was a refreshing experience. He was so detail oriented and made sure the house was move-in ready when it came time. And when we've had issues (which have, thankfully, been minor and few), the team that takes care of them have been amazingly responsive. ... More

The materials used are of mediocre quality. The design is sub-par for livability in the Martin Rey unit.

Building was a great experience. Their staff is well educated and responsive. All aspects of the build were to my expectations with no surprises

Easy process, straight forward. We love our home.

Our overall experience in purchasing the home was very positive. We enjoy the community, our neighbors, and amenities at.the Prairie Clubhouse. In addition to learning about the DelWebb community it is important for potential buyers to know how the community fits into future city development.

The build process went very smoothly and the responsiveness of the construction management team was excellent, but the end result of the house was not to the level we expected for the amount of money that was spent. This feedback is regarding the Martin Ray Estate series. Here are some issues to watch for during the design, build and the pre close walk thru: 1. The location of doors when they are opened is very poor. a. There are three doors in the owners’ suite bath that are trying to occupy the same spot. b. The door in the laundry room opens directly into the front of the utility sink and reduces access to the sink. 2. The short walls that frame the front entryway are bowed due to inadequate shimming during the sheetrock process. 3. There is a significant amount of deflection (bounce in the floor) around the center island in the kitchen. This is very noticeable when seated at the center island and someone is walking around. 4. Make sure to verify the cabinet sizes between the electrical blueprint and the design center blueprint. The electrical blue print shows 21” cabinets on either side of the sink. The design center blueprint shows 18” cabinets. The 18” cabinets were installed which limits their usefulness for storing dishes. A suggestion would be for the Pulte design consultant to highlight the different size cabinets and provide the client with an option to purchase the 21” cabinets. 5. During the pre-close walkthrough, the poor quality of the interior painting job was very evident. We must have marked over 100 spots that needed to be touched up as well as overspray paint removed from the floor. In addition, a bucket of paint in the basement had leaked and was not cleaned up before our walkthrough. 6. Drawer pulls in the kitchen were crooked which was a result of drawers not being installed correctly. Sliding drawers in the cabinet were not installed level. These items were corrected shortly after closing. Overall, the inspection by the Pulte team should have caught a number of these items before having our walkthrough. Concept is good, workmanship is very poor.

People should know that some of the features in the models to enhance them actually are not available to buyers. People should know that Pule is a huge machine that dictates every step of the buying process. The machine is too large to consider any deviation to their plan by any individual buyer. Pulte reserves the right to make any changes that help advance their plan. We were told we would not be able to close on our house until somewhere between the end of 2-23 and 5-23. That was the time table we used for selling our previous house. Our closing got moved up to 12-28-22. Due to the misinformation we were given we asked Pulte for some flexability in extending the closing date so we had time to sell our home. Pulte responded that they would certainly be flexable but at the cost of $300 per day. We still now own 2 houses in Chaska as a result,which is a huge financial liability. People should know that everyone here on site has been wonderful to work with. People should know that Adelwood is a great community with many,many activiities and they will make many new friends,and is a great place to live. ... More

The biggest issue is that our address does not appear on google and we have had nothing but problems with changing our address and getting deliveries. Currently important medication has been delayed by Fed Ex and may still be delayed because our address does not show up. Del Webb should put all street names in computers and systens before selling homes. Overall the home is very nice.

We had a great sales representative and that’s about it for the good. It only upsets us greatly to rehash how awful the construction of our home is. Most expensive house we have ever built and the worst from a construction standpoint! I don’t believe anything is square in our house. Our center island is crooked and it’s the focal point of the kitchen. Our own painters were here for 2 weeks straight fixing all the baseboards caulk and walls before they could paint! It was shameful. Our painter literally told one of the construction managers “ you guys are hacks.” because he was so appalled at the incredibly shoddy workmanship! Our house was constantly a nasty mess through the entire build process. We have built 3 other homes and we have never seen the kind of filth and debris that was in this house. Our other builders always kept a neat job site and cleaned up and swept up. They’re piles of debris everywhere in this house! I shudder to think what is underneath our carpet because they never swept anything up. We are not happy at all with the construction of our house. Your builders are machines and they could care less about quality! We have lived in really well built beautiful homes so we know what they should look like. Not worth the price at all!! Your selections and upgrades were absolutely outrageous!!! All of our entry doors have to be replaced due to all the dents. Your workers are super careless! Our Pulte experience can be summed up in a few words “profits before people.” ... More

The purchasing process was very good. The decoration center was great to work with. Selection of colors of various elements was good as long as you like grey, white or black. Not a lot of choices outside those colors. Quality of paint, doors, windows etc. was below expectations. Pulte has been responsive to issues.
