Worst Home Buying Experience

By far, the worst new house purchase I've ever made - this is my fourth. Pulte can speak of quality, but there is no evidence of quality in my house. And the design oversights are astounding. Even junior architects shouldn't make such fundamental errors - doors that open on to each other, doors that cannot be opened unless another door is closed, air vents over dining table and living room seating area, windows that cannot be opened all the way because there is no grab handle on the bottom of the windows to close them, 'frameless' shower enclosure only missing the cheap aluminum frame on the ...

Builder growing pains

It's been my experience any time you have a new community the contracted builder has marching orders to build so many homes per month. The builder is only as good as the sub contractor's they employ. 99% of the time there are no sub-contracting supervisors to monitor the daily work of their employee's doing the installs. Usually there is only an on site company superintendent who oversees the building process. If the sub contracting employees don't have pride in their craft, you wind up with shoddy workmanship.
