Drew had a broker represent me that I never met, did nothing for me but get almost $11k Granted I got a credit but this is a scam the builder has no idea how much they're getting cheated. I got no help is trying to trade out trees, get a functional dog shower and repairs completed in a timely manner- 3months and still waiting.

Drees Custom Homes responded:

I would love to be constructive and could write a novel about our experience. Ultimately, our home was built carelessly and with minimal effort. We will strongly caution anyone and everyone against Drees. Horrible experience, horrible quality, horrible use of our resources.

Disappointing Quality for a $1.2M Home

This was our first and last purchase with Dree's. Our purchase experience upfront was pleasant and professional. We felt initially very pleased with our decision. However, from the moment we moved in it has been extremely disappointing & stressful experience. It has become a second job to keep on Dree's to be consistent about finishing the home & fixing/correcting mistakes. Here are some highlights. 1) A few days before our move in date, we paid a licensed seasoned home inspector in the area to review the build. Dozens of defects, poor craftsmanship & dangerous/out of code (some exposed wires ...

When I decided to build with Drees, was because I wanted to build an upgraded house that will be our last house, as a family we did a tremendous financial effort to make this happen. Drees, did not meet the expectations, their quality does not meet what they advertise. The price tag is steep and yet the house was rushed and has multiple issues, everything from tile, sheetrock, stucco, paint, electrical issues, etc. -- I would NOT recommend Drees at all. If I had to do it again, I would choose a different upscale builder.

We started our journey with Drees in May of 2020, and finally moved in September 2022. 3 months after moving in, we are still without basic items (like a microwave), parts are missing, and items do not function properly. We wanted to move into a fully functioning, completed home but agreed to move in early before interest rates rose again and our rate lock expired. Big mistake! The builder is too busy building new houses to address our issues and the “warranty” rep only wants to tell us why he won’t take care of it. My recommendation to anyone considering Drees: buy a completed house and ...

It took us 20 months for the construction to happen. Finally moved in end of October, responsiveness from the builder is almost null. We have to chase for everything. There was never an instant where things happened without us asking multiple times. Still living in a house without cabinet hardware. Things were build non standard. Eg few door height are non standard because of which we are not able to find compatible doors. Overall experience of building the house is terrible, except our sales manger. Everything else is a joke…….

Our sales team was extremely rude with most concerns, builder took 15 months, many days and weeks with no one working. Ordered brick wrong which was the first thing we had to order after signing and we had to choose another brick when it came in incorrectly. Always belittling the customer when we ask questions on why something not done. I would NEVER recommend this company for someone to build on their own lot. Its very sad that we have a $850,000 home that we didn't enjoy building. I would never treat my customers like they did.

Builder helped in some cases. Construction delayed because of supply issues but also because of incompetency of the builder to keep material safe in the home. Communication provided every week but more than half of the communication from May 2021 is no work done or we don't know how long it will take. For us field work, coordination among workers is more important than calling us each week and saying no work done. We believe the builder may be overwhelmed with work and didn't meet our expectations in some areas even after reporting.

We were initially VERY excited to purchase our Drees custom home. We visited in Oct 2020 and in a matter of hours had selected the largest lot with the best view against a greenbelt. That is where the excitement ended!! We were moving from California and had been told that there was a very strong possibility that we would be moving in around Nov 2021 (given the delays in materials-COVID) we were understanding of that, but as November '21 approached we could clearly see that we were not going to be moving in. This was our 2nd experience building home, 1st experience was fantastic and this 2nd one was mediocre. Work done by quite a few vendors are substandard quality for the price, it looked like the goal of the entire project was to finish the work, not deliver better product, some of the things were pure negligence, not much auditing by contractor once work finished by vendors, questionable decision by Drees to continue with vendors that have extremely poor public reputations, looks like profitability is priority over customer satisfaction!

The first couple of months after signing we were still excited about the possibility of a Drees home but in hind site it took over a month to get to signing. Shortly there after deadlines began to be missed and our confidence disappeared. By the time we were closing…we felt forced to sign and pay in full for a home that Drees agreed was not quite complete. Permanently stained driveway and unfinished punchlist from July closing

I closed on my new custom home with Drees in July, and unfortunately my experience since then has been very disappointing. At closing, my driveway was covered in dirt, and I was assured it would be power washed after 30 days to protect my new sod. When they finally did, the driveway remained permanently stained due to dirt sitting for weeks on porous concrete and heavy machinery driving over it. Drees has been aware of this issue for over 30 days, and I have reached out to the CEO’s office several times, yet the issue remains unresolved. For a brand-new custom home, a blotchy, stained ...

We were very impressed at our first few meetings with Drees Sales. Once we were into the process, from design center to closing, it was disappointing to say the least. The design process was a challenge all the way through, the build manager lied about items being completed when he wasn’t even on site or hadn’t been on site. The quality of work that was acceptable by the Drees team was disgusting. After repeated notifications items were still not completed.
