We like Drees Custom Homes as they are spaciously built compared to other builders. They provide pretty much all the upgrades as standard features. We didn’t had to buy additional features as everything came as standard. Their ceiling height are pretty tall and bedrooms, kitchen Island, dinning area are spacious. Drees Sale Manager Harry Kidd was very good and transparent person. He always communicated all the updates and details very thoroughly with us during whole construction process. Addressed/answered all over questions on timely manner and was very proactive by assisting from start to closing our home. Our home engineer Taylor was also very nice and approachable person. Beautiful looking home but very poor workmanship/quality of materials through out the home, end-up having many patch work fixes right after move-in(moved in after 5 weeks of closing) including post closing open issues, It is very disappointing experience, hassle, getting exhausted going thru fixing the many patch works thru many vendors, Not happy. Looking forward when every thing will be fixed (3 months passed so far, still many open issues) to get some peace.

Expectations were much higher than delivered product. Simple request became battles. Drees proves the customer does NOT come first. We would not recommend the Drees Homebuying experience to our friends.

Drees was easy to work with from the start, and their incentives were so good that we pulled out of a contract with Southgate to build with Drees. The sales process was smooth and they set good expectations although maybe a bit to conservative, as hour home was finished nearly six months earlier than what they quoted. Sandy at windsong ranch is amazing and always so hospitable. Julie is an incredible designer and really pushed us to make great decisions and challenged us to consider different finishes that really came together so well. Kaston, our builder, is very responsive and detail oriented. He communicated with us every step of the way and takes great pride in his work and the quality of product he handed over to us. ... More

I would love to be constructive and could write a novel about our experience. Ultimately, our home was built carelessly and with minimal effort. We will strongly caution anyone and everyone against Drees. Horrible experience, horrible quality, horrible use of our resources.

Daniella is the Marketing person, we haven't never seen this marketing person like never before. Not even Single thing has been addressed by her. However we were given Builder contact just before closing, he was little accommodative. But Daniella behaved just like selling the home itself a great thing for you

This is actually our 2nd Drees Home build (30 years after the 1st one !), and they did not disappoint. Guided by their enduring corporate values focused on clients, they continue to be one of the most high quality, dependable, and trustworthy custom home builders. Building through a Pandemic with supply chain disruptions is challenging, but Matt and Eric were fabulous to work with and very responsive to our concerns. We are 2 months post closing, but they remain in touch to ensure things are working and patch up paint and other things to our liking. Trustworthy, high quality, and dependable may sound boring and old fashioned - but to me they are the most crucial attributes in a builder, considering a home is likely the most expensive thing any family will ever buy. ... Working with Harry and then Jason was a wonderful experience. While there were numerous issues with supply chain, etc, they did everything they could to make sure that we were satisfied and all of our needs were met. It was first class experience!

Everything below is my experience and opinion since I began building my home with Drees in October 2021. Their sales staff needs training. Be warned... there are SEVERAL decisions that need to be made AT CONTRACT. You can have all the conversations, emails etc with the sales people, but certain things you think might be options to decide at the design center MUST be in your contract. If they are not, you will have to PAY $1000 to change the contract even though it was the SALES person's mistake. This includes plan changes adding an optional media room, doors on the study, showers instead of bathtubs etc. If in doubt ASK! The sales people should have a checklist they give you so you know before you sign. It is very confusing when some items you discussed are in contract and others are not. Do NOT assume the salesperson knows what they are doing! Buying new or building with Drees does not mean you get a home without imperfections or flaws. The quality is just not there. The contract does not require them to meet anything beyond minimum quality standards. We have cabinets with bad paint or missing paint in many spots, doors with damage that they filled and tried to cover as well as bad paint, Drees subcontractors LOVE caulk and will use it to try to cover their poor workmanship. DO NOT DO WOOD BEAMS OR SITE FINISHED STAIRS. You will PAY a lot of money and they will not turn out anything like the model home. You have to watch everything they do. They will put tile in the wrong bathrooms, build your cabinets incorrectly, frame the stairs using wrong measurements and so on... and you will have to constantly check for progress on the corrections. They will use the garage like a garbage dump and scoop up the debris on occasion using a bobcat, scraping and gouging the garage floor. You will have to pay out of pocket after closing to have your garage floor refinished or coated it is so bad. The tile in the master bath is uneven in many spots in the shower and on the floor. Tile floors are chipped, mirrors are poorly framed, I could go on..I had a list of 81 items in total, most were attempted to be corrected. A lot of the time the attempts to correct just caused more damage. Until they have an occupancy permit, they will try to fix their mistakes and appease you, but once you close you will have to chase them down regardless of what they promised you. From the day I signed to the day I moved in was not 10 to 14 months...it was over 500 days!! Some may think I'm too picky or difficult. I just believe that you should get what you pay for and that there should be some quality of workmanship. I shouldn't have a list of repairs to do from day 1 in a new build. I still love the floorplan and I am happy to finally have moved in. Unfortunately much of the joy was taken away in the building process. I will say that the Drees Design Center process was FANTASTIC and the first 3 or 4 months building were so much fun. Then the mistakes began... followed by months of delays and frustration. Be warned and be aware. I'm sure many builders will be the same. They are dealing with subcontractors who just don't care and without builder supervision they try to get away with poor workmanship. Missy from the Sales Team was great, she is always smiling, willing to help and very customer centric. Unfortunately, for us it was a nightmare trying to fix the issues that arise on the first day, we got a dirty house, cabinets in the kitchen were the worst, pot filler did not work, house was clearly lack of supervision, so really bad experience with the architect and his manager, I won't say names here, but ZERO customer centric and lack of responsibility.

Nerve will build and refer anybody.

As the Home Builder, you can't blame the hired work or contractors for their actions, as you partnered or hired them to do the job. THEY are a reflection of your company and the follow up to anything with Drees has been horrible.

The builder does not hold their contractors to the high level of standards that the sell to the customer. In addition, the builders do not follow-up and communicate well to the buyer on the progress of them home. Due to this behavior the customer is expected to manage the completion of open tasks, even after the customer has moved into the house.

Poor quality materials used with unprofessional workmanship. My brand new house already has too many issues. Corporate is not responding to issues raised. Not sure the point of this survey if not planning to correct things.

This was a very frustrating experience with many mistakes and issues along the way. I understand that you can only do do much with 3rd party workers/vendors, but there was seemingly a major issue/ setback with every step in this build process. Parker our CM and Cory our salesperson were as helpful and informative as they could be. The fact that we have so many unfinished issues with our home at this point is very frustrating. Delay after delay, the quality of the materials and the quality of the work are poor, response time and communication is poor. The subcontractors they use don't care about the quality of their work or your house and it shows.

Poor labor!!!! The quality of the finish craftsmanship is poor. The sub contractors hired lack real finish skills, appear to lack any pride in quality of work performed and reliability. (Tile work was a 5 day task that took 13 weeks and is still needing to be redone in some areas). Paint teams have been here 3 times and will be back to redo most of the homes interior wood finishes! We are having to have all interior trim and custom add work redone for a third time, replace added ceiling beams, exterior for a third time, complete redo of paint and prep for porch, interior shower glass for a 4th time, master shower tile redone, redo all caulking (floor and crown trim). This is all post close! Our sales and builder reps are stellar! We love them (they are professional, honest and do all they can) BUT the teams used by Drees to build and finish lack a lot! It is unfortunate as we purchased based on the quality we see in the models her and in other Drees locations. We did our homework! We expect no less than the models. That is the face of Drees to the market. The homes built lack the same level of craftsmanship. Drees must find a way to resolve. Help us who have closed to find the teams needed to resolve issues faster! Hire the right teams. We spent close to 7 figures and should not have to be middle men to resolve. Our issues are being addressed, slowly, but now become a major inconvenience for us since we have moved in. The worst on every level.

Builder helped in some cases. Construction delayed because of supply issues but also because of incompetency of the builder to keep material safe in the home. Communication provided every week but more than half of the communication from May 2021 is no work done or we don't know how long it will take. For us field work, coordination among workers is more important than calling us each week and saying no work done. We believe the builder may be overwhelmed with work and didn't meet our expectations in some areas even after reporting.

Don D. Juan and Billy have done a great job for us. we understand getting help and supply chain issues but Billy and Juan are doing a great job working through these issues and getting our punch items corrected.

It took us 20 months for the construction to happen. Finally moved in end of October, responsiveness from the builder is almost null. We have to chase for everything. There was never an instant where things happened without us asking multiple times. Still living in a house without cabinet hardware. Things were build non standard. Eg few door height are non standard because of which we are not able to find compatible doors. Overall experience of building the house is terrible, except our sales manger. Everything else is a joke…….

3 months after closing and still waiting on punch list items despite me sending punch lists throughout the entire process.
