Matt the Project Manager is impossible to work with, as he makes broken promises on days that things will be fixed and blames everything on the vendors or people doing the work.

As the Home Builder, you can't blame the hired work or contractors for their actions, as you partnered or hired them to do the job. THEY are a reflection of your company and the follow up to anything with Drees has been horrible.

For the price, we expected better quality of material, workmanship. Requests to repair issues were not met with a timeliness response. We have yet to have issues repaired after having moved in and a few months passing.

Builder Does Not Maintain High-Level of Standards

The builder does not hold their contractors to the high level of standards that the sell to the customer. In addition, the builders do not follow-up and communicate well to the buyer on the progress of them home. Due to this behavior the customer is expected to manage the completion of open tasks, even after the customer has moved into the house.

Poor quality materials used with unprofessional workmanship. My brand new house already has too many issues. Corporate is not responding to issues raised. Not sure the point of this survey if not planning to correct things.

Lack of quality work

I would not buy from Drees ever again. They install or fix one thing, but brake/damage two to three other things. Getting them to actually fix something is a joke. Quality of work is not there anymore. Our 19 year old home we sold was more energy efficient than this new home.

Up front purchase experience was ok. However, once we signed the papers it all went downhill. Issues with the floors and tile from day 1 and were unable to get responses from Drees. I even wrote letters to the. Operate office and the regional ofgice and called customer support- no response. We finally had someone from drees out last week-2months after closing. There are o few other quality issues that will hopefully be addressed.

I would love to be constructive and could write a novel about our experience. Ultimately, our home was built carelessly and with minimal effort. We will strongly caution anyone and everyone against Drees. Horrible experience, horrible quality, horrible use of our resources.

It was a rough 2 year process

We started our journey with Drees in May of 2020, and finally moved in September 2022. 3 months after moving in, we are still without basic items (like a microwave), parts are missing, and items do not function properly. We wanted to move into a fully functioning, completed home but agreed to move in early before interest rates rose again and our rate lock expired. Big mistake! The builder is too busy building new houses to address our issues and the “warranty” rep only wants to tell us why he won’t take care of it. It took us 20 months for the construction to happen. Finally moved in end of October, responsiveness from the builder is almost null. We have to chase for everything. There was never an instant where things happened without us asking multiple times. Still living in a house without cabinet hardware. Things were build non standard. Eg few door height are non standard because of which we are not able to find compatible doors. Overall experience of building the house is terrible, except our sales manger. Everything else is a joke…….

Would not recommend this team to anyone.

Our sales team was extremely rude with most concerns, builder took 15 months, many days and weeks with no one working. Ordered brick wrong which was the first thing we had to order after signing and we had to choose another brick when it came in incorrectly. Always belittling the customer when we ask questions on why something not done. I would NEVER recommend this company for someone to build on their own lot. Its very sad that we have a $850,000 home that we didn't enjoy building. I would never treat my customers like they did.

Delayed - Ignored - Surely there is better way to handle

Builder helped in some cases. Construction delayed because of supply issues but also because of incompetency of the builder to keep material safe in the home. Communication provided every week but more than half of the communication from May 2021 is no work done or we don't know how long it will take. For us field work, coordination among workers is more important than calling us each week and saying no work done. We believe the builder may be overwhelmed with work and didn't meet our expectations in some areas even after reporting.

Delay after delay, the quality of the materials and the quality of the work are poor, response time and communication is poor. The subcontractors they use don't care about the quality of their work or your house and it shows.

Where do I start? Multiple structural issues were discovered by us (builder did no quality check to ensure the contracted structure is in place), windows and doors are not aligned (either tilted or one is an inch up & next window is lower). A ton of issues (including cracked granite countertops) are still not taken care of even after contacting customer support.

The first couple of months after signing we were still excited about the possibility of a Drees home but in hind site it took over a month to get to signing. Shortly there after deadlines began to be missed and our confidence disappeared. By the time we were closing…we felt forced to sign and pay in full for a home that Drees agreed was not quite complete. We were very impressed at our first few meetings with Drees Sales. Once we were into the process, from design center to closing, it was disappointing to say the least. The design process was a challenge all the way through, the build manager lied about items being completed when he wasn’t even on site or hadn’t been on site. The quality of work that was acceptable by the Drees team was disgusting. After repeated notifications items were still not completed. Beautiful looking home but very poor workmanship/quality of materials through out the home, end-up having many patch work fixes right after move-in(moved in after 5 weeks of closing) including post closing open issues, It is very disappointing experience, hassle, getting exhausted going thru fixing the many patch works thru many vendors, Not happy. Looking forward when every thing will be fixed (3 months passed so far, still many open issues) to get some peace.

Paid over a million dollars for a home that was not even close to a custom build. The products used, workmanship and customer service was the worst. Our entire street and cul-de-sac all had same issues. NEVER again.
