There really isn't much to say besides the times that we were building our house through. Production delays, weather delays, "you name it" delays. I believe there were some delays that could have been avoided, as well as some production items such as having to re-pick items because of said delays. Outside of that, we felt the builder and salesperson were both attentive and helpful.

We started our journey with Drees in May of 2020, and finally moved in September 2022. 3 months after moving in, we are still without basic items (like a microwave), parts are missing, and items do not function properly. We wanted to move into a fully functioning, completed home but agreed to move in early before interest rates rose again and our rate lock expired. Big mistake! The builder is too busy building new houses to address our issues and the “warranty” rep only wants to tell us why he won’t take care of it. I was rushed through the design process. Was not given sound advice. Nothing else was done on time. There was turnover between the builders and then we as a family felt it was our job to continue the communication.

Roberto is an awesome guy. The Home is awesome and build quality is no exception.

This was my second home built by Drees, but the first on my own lot. When I purchased the lot, I knew right away that I wanted to work with Drees again. This was truly a custom home building experience and the entire Drees team went above and beyond to ensure that my home was built well and on time. With COVID/supply chain issues, the process at times was a bit slower than expected, but the Drees builder worked incredibly hard to keep things moving along. Depends on the community it varies a lot. I love my home and loved working the sales rep, but working with construction manager was very difficult. My house is not 100% complete, since I still have contractors coming in and out to fix the house. Finish touch ups are not cleanly done even after I moved in 3 months ago.

Where do I start? Multiple structural issues were discovered by us (builder did no quality check to ensure the contracted structure is in place), windows and doors are not aligned (either tilted or one is an inch up & next window is lower). A ton of issues (including cracked granite countertops) are still not taken care of even after contacting customer support.

Daniel was our builder and he was so quick to respond to any need we had. Drees worked very hard to get us in our house ASAP, even with the constant delays. Knowing that Daniel, did extra steps to help us get into our new home sooner than expected was really appreciated. Being in the home, I can see how much Daniel worked his tail off to make it happen. I would build another Drees home with Daniel. Thank you!

Signed contract in March 2021, given a Feb. 2022 complete date. Did not close until May 2022. Attention to detail was lacking. Lots of punch list items. Subcontractors did not read prints. Custom modifications seemed to be problematic. A/C unit appears to be undersized.

The team from Drees has been very professional, empathetic and responsive to all of my requests since I moved in. I am satisfied with my purchase and feel more and more at home. I would recommend Drees, especially Laurel and Tony.

In sum, our experience with Drees Builders: met deadlines, easy to work with, helpful in making difficult decisions, respectful of our unique wishes, excellent attention to detail, kind and welcoming workers. From the beginning to the end, we love our house and are completely satisfied. We highly recommend Nelson Builders with enthusiasm, and without reservation.

Paid over a million dollars for a home that was not even close to a custom build. The products used, workmanship and customer service was the worst. Our entire street and cul-de-sac all had same issues. NEVER again.

Any excuses they said were due to Covid and supply chain problem. Really!?

The first couple of months after signing we were still excited about the possibility of a Drees home but in hind site it took over a month to get to signing. Shortly there after deadlines began to be missed and our confidence disappeared. By the time we were closing…we felt forced to sign and pay in full for a home that Drees agreed was not quite complete. Unfortunately I don’t think the Drees subcontractors know what the word quality means and when we brought this to the attention to a director over the entire DFW are he indicated he was fine with the images of poor workmanship we sent him. Unfortunately the builder’s team was not stable and many details were lost with team changes. We have been living in the home for over two months and still have unfinished items which were promised over two months ago. Our original close date was August; 10week wait (with no other work happening and weeds growing literally six feet tall—I have photos); next close set for October, then plumbing delays—valves left on held up our connecting to natural gas for almost four weeks; next by Christmas/NewYear—nope all the vendors go home to family out of the country and will be gone for weeks but it will 100% for sure be done by mid January; the list still had over 100 items to be completed or repaired; two weeks before we pulled and said there was no way to complete needed work and oh by the way, you now have six weeks because a year ago we booked an extended vacation so make it perfect when we get back; we returned the Monday before close to find almost nothing had been completed they stalled and then the day before closing agreed they couldn’t complete the list…so if we wanted to delay they would be ok, by this point it was too late to reschedule movers, appliance delivery electronic install etc. we asked to withhold funds in escrow due to all the incomplete work—we were told no! The only time I could get action was after I looked up and called Mr. Drees’ assistant… Drees is not a custom builder Drees has no control over its subcontractors Drees builder team tells you to wait and have warranty fix items that warranty doesn’t cover Get EVERYTHING done before you sign because the workers disappear the minute you sign!! ... Do not buy a home from Laurel. Nothing she said was factual

I would not buy from Drees ever again. They install or fix one thing, but brake/damage two to three other things. Getting them to actually fix something is a joke. Quality of work is not there anymore. Our 19 year old home we sold was more energy efficient than this new home.

The overall look of the house is great but there were so many issues with cabinets closing properly, doors opening properly and details that should not have been left for closing.

Good design and willingness to work with buyer to achieve what they want!

This is a hard review to give because we love our home and it’s beautiful. However, there are still unfinished items and things that need to be done. COVID hasn’t helped but Drees should have back up options to deal with this as they have had over a year to adjust. I feel like they give priority to homes under construction but once you close, you become an afterthought.

Overall great experience. My wife and I really enjoyed working with Cory and Coby at Pecan Square.
