Overall, everyone was wonderful. Our builder was what made this experience great. He was professional and handled all of our questions. Everytime something needed resolved, it was. I would recommend Drees, Seth, and the Drees team to all of my friends!

The sales agent was very good and responsive to my requests.

Drees made the homebuilding experience easy. I was kept up to date on every step of the process.

We still are not receiving mail because of not having a collection box. This was not disclosed to us and should have been resolved before we moved in. Any problem reported to Amy has been promptly handled.

The buying process was a breeze with Drees We are still working thru some issues at day 50

Expect the close later than planned. Design options are good and priced reasonable enough to not consider having things done by contractors later. Updates aren’t always weekly. Transition between work is not always timely. Issue resolution is sometimes quick, but not always the case. Overall not bad.

Constuction manager responsive and communicative. Workmanship, however, lacked attention to details. Painting, drywall, caulking, door alignment, window quality, and flooring installation were all below par, requiring numerous repairs/rework that are still outstanding 90 days later.

Our recent move from Hawaii to Indiana was riddled with many challenges, including the home buying process. However, we finally experienced relief from the moment we stepped into the Drees model home sales center at Shafer Woods. From our initial meeting with Claire in the sales office, through the build with Barrett, we were left with the sense that ,we as the customer were always at the top of their mind. they were very responsive at the Model Home and helped out tons, the design center person didn't know about a lot of the options available, and since moving in we have had to change several thing already... Our 1st GC was horrible, but our 2nd one made up for him and more, great Guy! Workmanship, OK at Best, i did give them a 4, just because of the GC's responsiveness to issues. only been in the home 30 days, we already have had several nail pops, multiple issues with appliances, walls out of alinement, and overall shoddy subs doing the work for Drees. Wouldn't suggest Drees to anyone, unless they get their act together. ... More

We had a great sales person: Suzanne was wonderful with changes we wanted and always pleasant and tesponsive. We had a wonderful general contractor/superintendent, Michael Carroll. He was very responsive to any questions or changes needed. Unfortunately, he was brought in after work was already being performed. Mike had to troubleshoot the problems. He was wonderful and positive anytime we worked with Mike. However some of the workmanship is not quality work. It takes 5 min to get hot water to our kitchen faucet, with very low water pressure as well. We also have a large crack in our ceiling that was repaired before we moved in. You could tell where the ceiling was patched. Now the crack is back after 2 months and part of ceiling coming down. We are reaching out to get this resolved, but feel there is a structural issue. I really enjoyed working with the whole Drees team- a great buying experience

Response time to house repairs is too long after closing. I am still waiting for appliance repair, electrical outlet follow up, and lighting replacement months after closing. Drees is unresponsive to problems and lacks staffing to follow up on problems in a timely manner.

Total lack of craftsmanship in our home - no pride in workmanship. No follow-through with site manager. Incorrect materials used, walls and trim work are curved, light switches wired randomly, no insulation in basement, floors are not even, brick and mortar sloppy and ruined porches, standing water in duct work, poor quality of lumber used, etc.

Did a building your own kit instead of using a custom builder and we should have gone custom. We moved in June 10 after months of delays and no work being completed. Our punch list from our walk thru June 2 still isn’t done. Took our construction manager off our house and sent him to a neighborhood 3 weeks before we were supposed to move in. Communication as to delays was horrible. Communication as to completing this punch list has been nonexistent unless I reach out and follow up. If you’re building in an established Drees neighborhood, they’ll be great. But I would not recommend it for an alternative to a custom route. A single home in a single lot is not the priority…despite it being $$$ ... More

Was told it would be 7-9 months. Took almost 15. Went through 3 builders and none of them ever said the same story as the last one. They liked to blame supply chain and the job market, but they spent a lot of time on rework. Dug the basement and foundation, saw that it had field tiles draining into it, and ignored it for a month while the sides collapsed. Had to excavate more and do a lot of extra backfill because of that. Most of the time we were waiting on something it was because they messed up. Wrong sized windows, wrong size doors, didn’t order enough siding, etc. Ripped out all the doors after the interior was finished and had to repaint again. Paint the wall, touch up the wall, then cut the wall open because they forgot the power outlet we added and reminded them twice before they installed drywall. That sort of thing. Somehow a year after we picked appliances and gave our deposit they didn’t have our appliances. One person said they were in storage, but another said they were back ordered. Every month for a year the schedule slipped again and again. ... More

Drees home are beautiful and spacious! This is my second one and I would build with them again!

Long delays. Very cheap materials.

Only one issue we had is when the lumber was outside during construction in winter they don't use it immediately after calling and telling them as it may get bad, I would recommend them not to leave the lumber outside too long before using,

My overall experience with Drees is they do what they can with what they are given. Their biggest issue is lower management and their contractors. Management doesn’t hold the contractors accountable and the contractors do the bare minimum to get by. You as the homeowner have to micromanage the build from the start and make sure all the items you signed for are completed. It made the process incredibly stressful and not enjoyable. Hopefully the issue can be resolved and improved upon. Hopefully making future homeowners processes more enjoyable.

Overall had a positive experience purchasing and building our home with Drees. The process is never smooth and hiccups happen, which they were mostly responsive to. The workmanship is good, not great. Bathroom shower had to be redone due to a issue they found (which I would not have noticed so that is good). The worst experience definitely has been the landscaping they provided - large portion of the sod that was provided was in horrible condition and they were happy to come out and replace those pieces. The placement and installation of trees is terrible. I had 5 trees installed - 3 are crooked and 1 was placed in the middle of the backyard (why?!). They do not fix/move them either after installation so make sure when they do the initial landscaping, you're watching closely. Like with other builders as well, your lawn is just all clay so the quality of the soil is horrendous and you're going to have to do a lot of work after to get it right. ... More
