I had heard so many nightmare stories about the process of working with a big builder through the new home building experience. Our experience was the exact opposite. From the sales cycle through the selections process and the walk through... the experience was pleasant. The process of picking the lot with Holly from Texas was challenging, but once we arrived in the area she made the process seamless. Holly gave us suggestion we had not thought of making this home very comfortable. The next step was meeting and working with Paul the builder. This guy is very professional, would take care of issues we brought up quickly and found issues we did not see. Guy is experienced and superb in his profession and is a valuable asset to Drees.

We couldn’t have had a better experience with Drees! We purchased a market home which was at foundation. So the building process was an absolute breeze! We worked with Shelly from the beginning and she was amazing! So knowledgeable, professional, kind, and easy to work with! Our contractor, Gary, was incredible! Kept us in the loop at all times, whenever we noticed something on the house he was always 3 steps ahead of us. Truly an incredible experience!

Our new home experience with Drees was great from start to finish. We received outstanding guidance from Drees on all aspects of the process, including lot selection, and the design process where we selected all our finishes for the inside and outside of our home. We were living across country when we did this, which added a challenge to the process, but Drees was very flexible and worked with us. Our home is beautiful, and well built, and the follow up since we have moved in has been excellent.

I have so much love for our new home but there are things. That the builder did or missed that now that I’m living in the home just make me feel the value for every dollar spent is not equal. The paint quality absolutely stinks I’ve only been in the home 2 months and it’s terrible everywhere. If you have kids it’s going to suck. Subpar qualities and craftsmanship poor. Paint speckles on expensive stainless steel appliance and paint spots on dark hardwood. First month of move in, master shower water leaking into closet. After one patch up job, there was still a leak. Fixing pending. Brick walls had to be teared down and redo. Poor paint job. Lack in quality control.

I really enjoyed watching my home come to life. The building process was interesting. My only complaint is that the exterior carpenters did a terrible job initially. Once I communicated that it was unacceptable Dress corrected the errors. I appreciated that they responded to my concerns, and I understand that crew is no longer doing work for them. In the end I was thrilled with my new home!

The process was fairly smooth but did not like using First Equity. I thought Peggy was short and rude at times and made the experience less than pleasant. The house itself is nice and the customer service is outstanding. I would refer a friend if they decided to build a home. Like every investment a partnership must be formed.
