You have to watch what they do closely. There were numerous mistakes that were made on the building of our home. They don’t address the issues right away either. Try wait until everything is done and then have a “fixing crew” come back to fix the issues. Bit not everything can be addressed that way and so some of our finishes did not turn out the way we would have liked. We have lived in our home for 3 months now and they still have not fixed items that we told them to fix before we closed. Overall, extremely disappointed with the poor quality of craftsmanship and lack of attention to detail. For the price of the home, there are far too many issues and quality issues to be pleased.

I have been in this house for two months now and still have unresolved issues. Not sure why it takes so long to get things corrected. I am not interested in excuses as that is what they are - just excuses. I have an unresolved kitchen cabinet issue that should have been taken care of before closing. We are supposed to have a tree planted on the property and that is still not done. I was not aware that I would have to take care of the paint touch up issues myself. I have a crack in the dining room ceiling that I was told would be taken care of in a year, so I have to live with this for a year. ...

Bad. Bad. Bad experience.

Subpar qualities and craftsmanship poor. Paint speckles on expensive stainless steel appliance and paint spots on dark hardwood. First month of move in, master shower water leaking into closet. After one patch up job, there was still a leak. Fixing pending. Brick walls had to be teared down and redo. Poor paint job. Lack in quality control.

Document every conversation and stay on top of everything throughout the process. Inspect the home in DETAIL before you close. We did not feel as if our concerns were heard during the build and many are still being completely disregarded now that we have closed. Best of luck!

After you sign the contract - Beware!

It was very easy to go in, sign and get a preapproval, but after that is where it gets interesting: - Market Manager quiets responding to texts and emails. - Mortgage officer leaves First Equity Mortgage and does not tell the borrowers. No email returns, no VM messages, nothing! Found out 2 months before closing that Mortgage Lender left. Had to reapply and start the process all over. - First Builder was awesome. Very forthcoming and attentive. Second Builder after first Builder quiet is overwhelmed and non responsive sometimes. Very down to earth though. - Closing date was implied ...

I give Drees a fat 0 on everything above. I've had problems since day I moved in the most major being extensive mold. Drees has been unhelpful from the beginning. I would never recommend them to anyone and dissuade anyone thinking about it with my experience. Buying a Drees home is the biggest regret of my life.
