Although I'm quite disappointed by the state of the exterior of my house and the current status of the yard work and landscaping, my interactions with Drees employees has been very good, especially with Peppe. Every time I have an issue I reach out to him and he responds back right away and has been relentless in trying to make sure my issues are resolved. My major issues with the process is defintiely with the exterior of the house. The yard has been left in disaray and the landscaping looks incomplete, messy, trees have been cut to the stump, sidewalk all dug up, with no answers on when it will be done. ... More

Management was responsive once they understood my dissatisfaction with first issue.

Stay on top of everything or you don’t know what you will get. I felt like I was the project manager.

Issues were not addressed properly.

This home by Dreese was my 11th new home from various builders in Ohio, Georgia, South Caralina and Florida. I had only one builder build me 2 homes because I was satisfied with the quality of the finished product and that was Ryan Homes that rated as #1 of the 10 builders, Dreese #10

Hindsight is always 20/20, but the more removed I get from moving into my new home the more dissatisfied I become and the more I look back and realize how untrustworthy the process with Drees has been. From the very start we were lied to repeatedly about not being able to get under contract for various reasons, which ended up being confirmed as lies when we asked other builders we were considering if we had the same restrictions getting under contract with them. The build process was good and probably when Drees performed their best; however, they rush to get you moved in so they can collect the rest of their money, even when they have significant work left to complete (e.g., grading of lot, driveway). Once they have their money, they are not nearly as accommodating to make things right and they half *ss the work that is left to do. Since we've moved in, we have had significant issues with the grading of the lot, our $7K upgraded floors sound like your walking on rice krispy treats, and the mantel on our outdoor fireplace is over six feet high on a less than ten foot high wall. The response to these issues has been slow at best and there has been no indication that they will be fixed. We selected Drees over another builder because we liked the floor plan better, even though we felt more comfortable and trusting of the other builder from day one. The overall final product was decent without too many issues - some of which were encountered with COVID-19 issues, but the communication throughout the entire process was terrible. Issues arise and we understand that, but all we asked for was to stay informed and updated but that was never the case and we had to follow up numerous times to get answers.

Design Samples needs improvement. Construction quality isn’t up to the mark. No response for the emails after move-in. I wouldn’t recommend going with DYOL team.

We were constantly advised that issues would be taken care of, however, they were not. Too many issues for a home that you are paying a half million dollars for. Items that were supposed to be handled within two weeks of closing have still not been taken care of almost three months later. Just too many headaches and issues.

No body care about any issues .

I am really disappointed on how things were when we moved in, I still can’t get over some of the things that were left unfinished. The overall experience was bittersweet

Their vendor selection is really poor. We’ve had multiple issues just in the first 4 months of living here that include but are not limited to: a gas leak, sewage backup in the basement, foundation cracks with water leaks, dirty carpet upon move-in, unfixable mold buildup in grout, and a custom built-in in our living room that still isn’t complete. It has all in all been a very stressful experience.

While we love our home and its location, our experience building with Drees was horrible. From the salesperson lying to us about the lots that were sold, to our project manager who did not follow through on most things, we have spent several hours, days and nights trying to get Drees to follow through on outstanding items in our home. Our 60 day list had over a hundred items that need addressed. I'm hopeful they follow through.

Horrible craftsmanship. The builder is not taking responsibility. Won’t answer my questions. I closed and the house wasn’t even done. Took an extra month to be considered done. Don’t buy from drees. I and countless others have had a magnitude of problems.

Would not recommend - poor quality craftsmanship and unreliable contractors who install and use broken and damaged materials. To get anything done correctly, you have to escalate up the chain of command. Terrible. Stay on top of everything as they do cut corners.

I would not hire Drees to build a dog house much less a new home for us. There were multiple errors throughout the building process that took months to rectify. We had to change lots because they measured the 1st one incorrectly and our home would not fit on the lot. The Marketing Manager could not effectively explain what a garden basement was. Our laundry room was inverted from the blue prints and installed incorrectly. It had to be ripped out and redone. The tresses across the ceiling had 1 that was almost an 1" longer than the rest. We had to have huge holes cut out in our Master Bedroom and Bonus Room after the rooms had been completed and redone. The ceilings are still not complete and will have to have the drywall fixed at our 1 year warranty. The trades did a horrible job on the work done in the home. The trim is uneven. The grout is missing in sections in our master bathroom. There is wall paint on our white trim. There is paint on our floors. The cosmetics of the home are poorly done and do not represent the quality one would expect with the price point of our home. Buyer Beware. ... More

I have nothing good to say except that we are glad we made a profit off of this bad decision.

Drees provides a product that is low in quality, but high in price. They mislead you every step of the way just to get your money and make promises that they do not follow through on. Their customer service lacks luster as does their upper management. Customer concerns and complaints are not taken care of and you are left to deal with it. If you complain, watch out for retaliation. Two days after we closed, ironically our sewer drain backed up into our basement from a bunch of paper towels that were shoved down it. I recommend you go with a different builder so you can have a beautiful house that is not overpriced, cheap looking, and everything works appropriately. ... More
