Our experience from Day 1 with Drees has been phenomenal in every way. The best way to describe the relationship is analogous to Chik Fil A. Everyone was incredibly friendly, and always was helpful in this journey to build our dream home. Drees was upfront about the process and pricing so we could make a wise decision to move forward with building. The design selection meetings were a perfect timeframe so we weren't overwhelmed or tired. Selections were great, and very reasonable compared to another builder that priced us out of building. Once we got started with actually building, it was our weekend routine to stop over to see the great progress. Hindsight is always 20/20, but the more removed I get from moving into my new home the more dissatisfied I become and the more I look back and realize how untrustworthy the process with Drees has been. From the very start we were lied to repeatedly about not being able to get under contract for various reasons, which ended up being confirmed as lies when we asked other builders we were considering if we had the same restrictions getting under contract with them. The build process was good and probably when Drees performed their best; however, they rush to get you moved in so they can collect the rest of their money, even when they have significant work left to complete (e.g., grading of lot, driveway). Once they have their money, they are not nearly as accommodating to make things right and they half *ss the work that is left to do. Since we've moved in, we have had significant issues with the grading of the lot, our $7K upgraded floors sound like your walking on rice krispy treats, and the mantel on our outdoor fireplace is over six feet high on a less than ten foot high wall. The response to these issues has been slow at best and there has been no indication that they will be fixed. We selected Drees over another builder because we liked the floor plan better, even though we felt more comfortable and trusting of the other builder from day one. It was great working with Ed during the home construction. I happened to get regular updates on the ongoing and upcoming construction. Always been available to assist as needed for my questions and provided solutions as requested for my requests. In overall working experience with Ed was exceptionally great.

From the purchase of the home with Michele, to the design with Kcey, to the build process with Derek, we had nothing but a positive experience.

Did a great job.

The overall experience with Drees was great. It has been 20 years since we built our last home and my expectations were high and I was probable setting myself up for a frustrating experience. Drees made the process easy every step of the way. I was very hands on during the building process and found the trades too be less than stellar. I am not sure if was related to Covid, the economic down turn or simply lack of craftsmanship. Matt (Project Manager) kept a tight lead on the trades to ensure a quality build. Matt and Amanda were the best partners to have on our side.

Experience was really good. They were very accommodating in accepting custom requests, and adjustments as needed. Overall experience was excellent. The construction manager and salesperson on our home made the experience so good!

All in all, a good experience.

Very quick to respond and fix issues

Overall it was extremely pleasant until the end with a variety of issues that needed to be completed prior to close, a few needed to be done two or three times to bring it to a satisfactory level. Our contractor was responsive but the business and customer support definitely was less than ideal. And the preferred lender to which Drees has equity shares/operates separately from construction was very unreliable, resulting in confusion and extreme frustration as “good to close” was definitely fluid and difficult at best. Overall it is a beautiful home and no new construction is perfect and as long as they stick to their word of addressing issues I would say they are overall a great choice in the large scale/custom home market. ... Design Samples needs improvement. Construction quality isn’t up to the mark. No response for the emails after move-in. I wouldn’t recommend going with DYOL team.

Horrible craftsmanship. The builder is not taking responsibility. Won’t answer my questions. I closed and the house wasn’t even done. Took an extra month to be considered done. Don’t buy from drees. I and countless others have had a magnitude of problems.

Explored other builders. Decided on Drees. Value, style and flexibility to customize resulted in a spectacular home!

Drees Homes did a great job building our home. With supply chain shortages they explored every option to get our house built in teh time that was promised and at teh price we were told. Debbie and Kris were great to work with and I highly recommend building with Drees.

Was easy. Wish the paint in the home was better quality and weI had a place to put a bathroom in the basement but other than that we are satisfied.

The entire process from visiting models through option and feature selection, all the way to final walk through and move in has been well planned and executed. The entire Drees team has been very responsive and supportive.

Eric has been a pleasure to work with, he is always responsive and goes above expectation to ensure our issues are resolved.

Issues were not addressed properly.

Good buying experience and quality

I am really disappointed on how things were when we moved in, I still can’t get over some of the things that were left unfinished. The overall experience was bittersweet

While we love our home and its location, our experience building with Drees was horrible. From the salesperson lying to us about the lots that were sold, to our project manager who did not follow through on most things, we have spent several hours, days and nights trying to get Drees to follow through on outstanding items in our home. Our 60 day list had over a hundred items that need addressed. I'm hopeful they follow through.

No body care about any issues .

Drees makes a good home and they have some beautiful designs and layouts. Those are the only good things I can say. Their communication, professionalism, and accountability are all 1 out of 10 (unless zero is an option). They don't adhere to any sort of schedule. When they miss dates they don't communicate the reasons why unless they're asked multiple times. They showed time and time again that they didn't care how stressful the home building process is for the customer. I would recommend any potential buyer avoid Drees at all costs. Their business practices rob the customer of any excitement and their lack of communication and accountability leave you feeling helpless and hopeless. Stay on top of everything or you don’t know what you will get. I felt like I was the project manager.

I bought this house once it was built. We were impressed with the upgrades and craftsmanship.
