The entire Drees Homes team was absolutely wonderful to work with during the construction of our new home using the Build on your Lot program. A special thank you to the realtor, Design Center staff, and builder - all were extremely professional and responsive to all our questions during the process.

For better or worse another's experience may vary ...my wife and I started our Drees process in September 2021. We took possession of our home Oct 31 2022. The biggest delay was 4 months for windows. Drees would like us to believe it was a supply chain issue however every other house around us started building after we did and got their windows seemingly on time but certainly no one else waited 4 months. We personally believe someone messed up and didn't order them on time or at all until much later. There were a number of administrative errors from the start down to the time closing. The vendors Drees uses tend to be sloppy with their work in our opinion. Painting looks like it was done by a novice. We've had plumbing issues. Windows aren't properly installed. Some things are addressed quickly, some aren't. Some things are minimized by Drees reps even though you know there is an issue. We can walk through our home and find something not right in each room. They tend to lean on "everything isn't going to be 100% perfect" which is true and not the expectation. The expectation is that everything be done correctly which there's plenty that wasn't. But it could be worse, we've had neighbors on our street that had to have bathroom floors ripped up due to bad plumbing jobs. That's our silver lining. This is the neighborhood we wanted to be in so it's hard to say if we would build with Dress again. Hypothetically if they're the only option it would take serious consideration next time. ... More

Aaron is incredible l love the Christopher home only issue is the sound proofing. Brooke was helpful, available and informative.

Overall it was extremely pleasant until the end with a variety of issues that needed to be completed prior to close, a few needed to be done two or three times to bring it to a satisfactory level. Our contractor was responsive but the business and customer support definitely was less than ideal. And the preferred lender to which Drees has equity shares/operates separately from construction was very unreliable, resulting in confusion and extreme frustration as “good to close” was definitely fluid and difficult at best. Overall it is a beautiful home and no new construction is perfect and as long as they stick to their word of addressing issues I would say they are overall a great choice in the large scale/custom home market. ... Everything went well with the new home builder. Very happy and would highly recommend. Our superintendent Marc was very responsive and handled everything professionally and in a timely manner. Our only issue is that we’re still waiting to have our floors on the first floor replaced due to water damage in several areas. Hopefully we can get this resolved soon.

My Experience with Drees Homes was my best decision to purchase a home at Eagle Rock 70 Community. I was impressed with the workers from the realtor, Builder, Design Center and QC Lady. I recommend Friends and family that’s looking for a new home to purchase Drees Homes. thank you so much. I love my house.

Design Samples needs improvement. Construction quality isn’t up to the mark. No response for the emails after move-in. I wouldn’t recommend going with DYOL team.

I liked the overall experience. It was delayed three months and that became a problem because we had sold our house and we were living in a short term rental. Had we known that it would take 3 months longer, we would have rented for long term. The drywall and paint have been a problem. We used to build custom homes and I think the drywall and paint sub contractors were average and not good. They have had a lot of bad spots to repair. The stairs all have to be re-stained because the cleaners from the paint company left there towels all over the stairs while cleaning the rod iron spindles on the handrail because there was paint all over them, and they took the finish off the stair treads. Our experience building with Drees was amazing! Beautiful home

Drees processes for building our home were excellent. The steps were clearly defined. We were notified of progress throughout the build. Making the home 'ours' through the design phase was simplified with the professional we had to guide us. During construction they were flexible in making some last minute changes. We have been in our new home for close to 2 months and no issues have come up. So glad that we made the decision to go with Drees as friends told me of issues they were having with their builders.

Working with MJ and Jonathan throughout this process was my most treasured experience! With the most amazing Realtor (Gerald) I did not imagine that I would too receive such a great team from the builder! Well I did and they were thoroughly impressive, responsive, respectful and knowledgeable!!!! This was the smoothest home buying process all around, to include my lender (SECU)!! They all brought my vision to life!!! Well done!

Horrible craftsmanship. The builder is not taking responsibility. Won’t answer my questions. I closed and the house wasn’t even done. Took an extra month to be considered done. Don’t buy from drees. I and countless others have had a magnitude of problems.

There is disturbing knocking noise coming from the ceiling in my study room and unfortunately it does not look like it will be resolved any time soon

During the build process, everything was going well until we reached the point when the builder told me he would be able to calculate the completion date, and then my walk-through and closing dates. He neglected to include the part where Drees' warranty person would do a walk-through first, then they would have 10 days (I think) to correct what was found BEFORE I would do my walk-through, and then they would have 10 days to fix anything I found before I would close. For the next 2 months, I continually asked if certain delays in building would create a delay in my completion and closing dates and/or if we were still on track to complete and close around the time we had discussed, and the original dates we had discussed were continually confirmed. It was not until I received notification that my walk-through and closing dates were 1 month later than had continually been confirmed. It was at this time that I learned I had not been told of Drees' procedure calculating these final and important dates. It would definitely be best if Drees provides a written, comprehensive outline of their procedure in calculating completion, buyer walk-through, and closing timeframes. Due to the pandemic and certain items being continually delayed, my builder continually kept pushing forward with as much as he possibly could so progress could still be made. I was also told about how he pushed some vendors to deliver and/or install certain items earlier than they planned in order to reduce further delays for my home. It was apparent he was working very hard to reduce delays while getting the necessary work completed. After closing and having a few items completed on the repair list, I asked the builder about some items needing to be repaired which were noted by my private inspector, one on the roof and one in the attic space, neither of which I was able to check personally to see if they were done. I was told since it wasn't on the list from my walk-through, it wasn't done - something that I found interesting as I made them known to the warranty person with whom I did my walk through that these items were found by my private inspector and other items I had mentioned were on that list. I was told (and this was also brought up during the building process) that they only fix issues noted by the city/county inspector and not private inspectors. Since it is a buyer's right to hire a private inspector, this does not make sense...what are we paying for, then, if the builder feels they have the right to ignore those findings?! These items have been fixed, but it needed to be done by making a claim with warranty. After moving in, I realized there were no towel rings (to hold hand towels and/or face cloths) in any of my 3 bathrooms. I have always had them in past homes, so had to purchase my own and have them installed. Not a super huge deal, but felt like the bathrooms were not 100% "complete" without them. The shower curtain rod in both my guest bathrooms are silver...my hardware are all bronze...so this looks out of place. For the price paid for these homes, seems to me no towel rings and shower rods which do not match is "cutting corners" in a way. During my walk through, since I could see there were plants with some concerns, I asked if they replaced any within the first year if they died (I have found most landscapers and even Home Depot provide this warranty) and was told no. Within the first month or so, my gardener has cut at least 4 plants/bushes to their base. Since part of the price of the home is a fully landscaped yard (with specific plants/bushes/trees), you would think they would provide some type of warranty for them. My 2 previous homes were also custom built and those builders, who provided landscaping for only the front yard, provided a 1 yr warranty for the sod and plants they installed. I have been living in my home for 2 months, and all in all, the home seems well built and warranty has been easy to work with for those few items I needed handled right away. ... More

Good to work with

I give Drees a fat 0 on everything above. I've had problems since day I moved in the most major being extensive mold. Drees has been unhelpful from the beginning. I would never recommend them to anyone and dissuade anyone thinking about it with my experience. Buying a Drees home is the biggest regret of my life.

Hello, throughout the searching, buying, building process for this home...my wife and I were fully informed, supported and every question was answered/addressed. This was our first build, but not our first home and frankly having moved throughout this wonderful country we are more than pleased to be here and in such a well built home. We highly recommend looking into Drees as your builder and trust that they will help you to be 100% comfortable with this purchase/process.

Overall our experience with Drees was great, from sales to design and the actual build no matter how small our question was it was answered timely. The only suggested area for improvement was around financing and the interest rate lock. We were originally told we could lock the rate after we completed the design phase then it changed to once the foundation was poured (a couple months later). A reminder from Drees to lock the rate once the foundation was in would have been helpful. We didn’t act immediately and with the crazy market our interest rate was significantly higher than when we met originally. ... More

Garage has split wood between the cylinder blocks and drywall. Master shower downstairs Door was not closing right before we closed on the house and fixed it then and now the problem continues after 2 uses of opening and closing the door.

We had not been in the home buying market in over 30 years. Even in this tough pandemic and post-pandemic environment we were able to get our beautiful new home. Supply issues cause some hiccups, but we were informed every step of the way

Overall we are very pleased with the service and contractor support of Drees Homes. Even with the shortages and logistic issues, we were able to close on our house on schedule. Drees has been very responsive to requests and we believe you will find great value in the quality of workmanship and the community.
