Initially we signed for a home only to discover during our home inspection that the roof was incorrectly installed and there was a leak. There was water damage to multiple areas and materials to the home. A couple weeks later we stopped by the house and discovered the sump pump failed and flooded the partially finished basement. Drees fixed the issues (and a few others discovered on the inspection) but we pulled out from this house. Up until the final weeks, the experience was pretty good. However, the final weeks, and after signing has been a nightmare. Final walkthrough (one week out) had countless issues, while numerous things were still not even scheduled, to know if we should be requesting they be fixed. We have had difficulty getting issues resolved such as drainage issues off of roof, back yard is a mess with weeds and soil is so hard grass would not grow. Company seems to short change certain areas instead of putting worth a real value for price paid

For better or worse another's experience may vary ...my wife and I started our Drees process in September 2021. We took possession of our home Oct 31 2022. The biggest delay was 4 months for windows. Drees would like us to believe it was a supply chain issue however every other house around us started building after we did and got their windows seemingly on time but certainly no one else waited 4 months. I have been in this house for two months now and still have unresolved issues. Not sure why it takes so long to get things corrected. I am not interested in excuses as that is what they are - just excuses. I have an unresolved kitchen cabinet issue that should have been taken care of before closing. We are supposed to have a tree planted on the property and that is still not done. I was not aware that I would have to take care of the paint touch up issues myself. Their vendor selection is really poor. We’ve had multiple issues just in the first 4 months of living here that include but are not limited to: a gas leak, sewage backup in the basement, foundation cracks with water leaks, dirty carpet upon move-in, unfixable mold buildup in grout, and a custom built-in in our living room that still isn’t complete. It has all in all been a very stressful experience.

I feel like I have been mislead in the process of purchasing this home. I asked about having a realtor and was told I didn’t need one. In the design center, I was presented with the high end items. I didn’t realize I was making selections that put my home higher than other homes. I was sold a premium lot that I’m now dealing with kudzu which will take over my yard if not taken care of. This has been a terrible purchase.

The quality of finish work was subpar and disappointing. There was a general lack of quality control in finishing our home. It has required numerous onsite visits by Drees and their subcontractors. For the amount paid, new construction homes should have much better quality. We understand in any new construction there wilkl be minor items, but our home had everyting from poor flooring installation, forgotten items, poor HVAC, missing critical mechanical items, severely poor drywall and mud work, tile and chauking and grout work was sloppy. Overall, we regret our purchase of this Drees home.

Subpar qualities and craftsmanship poor. Paint speckles on expensive stainless steel appliance and paint spots on dark hardwood. First month of move in, master shower water leaking into closet. After one patch up job, there was still a leak. Fixing pending. Brick walls had to be teared down and redo. Poor paint job. Lack in quality control.

Total lack of craftsmanship in our home - no pride in workmanship. No follow-through with site manager. Incorrect materials used, walls and trim work are curved, light switches wired randomly, no insulation in basement, floors are not even, brick and mortar sloppy and ruined porches, standing water in duct work, poor quality of lumber used, etc.

While we love our home and its location, our experience building with Drees was horrible. From the salesperson lying to us about the lots that were sold, to our project manager who did not follow through on most things, we have spent several hours, days and nights trying to get Drees to follow through on outstanding items in our home. Our 60 day list had over a hundred items that need addressed. I'm hopeful they follow through.

We still have blue tape all around our house on things that aren’t fixed. We are missing a cabinet in our basement bar because the cabinet installers left a broken cabinet, like we wouldn’t notice.
