Drees home are beautiful and spacious! This is my second one and I would build with them again!

Would not recommend. Low quality, just the same as most other builders.

I have been in this house for two months now and still have unresolved issues. Not sure why it takes so long to get things corrected. I am not interested in excuses as that is what they are - just excuses. I have an unresolved kitchen cabinet issue that should have been taken care of before closing. We are supposed to have a tree planted on the property and that is still not done. I was not aware that I would have to take care of the paint touch up issues myself. I have a crack in the dining room ceiling that I was told would be taken care of in a year, so I have to live with this for a year. The grading of the property is terrible. Your masons and trim carpenters did a very good job but your painters and landscapers are terrible. I still have a plumbing issue that has yet to be resolved. There are issues with the driveway and heating vents that will not be fixed as Heath blew them off and said nothing could be done with them. I thought Drees was a custom builder and that is why I went with Drees as opposed to Fisher. ... More

The people you work with at the beginning and middle of the process are great. They keep you informed and help tremendously. The hardest part (but I'm sure this is true with all builders) is once you sign the papers and close, anything you think isn't good enough doesn't matter. I only say this because I'm working with the warranty team now. And they will only fix something that's broken or not working, but shotty workmanship is your problem now. But that makes sense, it's their job to make sure they don't spend all of Drees' money and they aren't obligated to fix shotty work once you close. I would say once you close, try to have the mindset that you bought a market home and not a brand new home and that it should all be perfect. ... More

Drees provided many options and selections to customize our home for our needs. The entire staff was very professional and responsive to our questions and any issues that arose during the building process.

Good buying experience and quality

The Drees team stand by their product and are committed to my satisfaction. What impressed me the most is how quickly they responded to my questions and resolved any concerns. I had complete trust that Dress would deliver.

I am really disappointed on how things were when we moved in, I still can’t get over some of the things that were left unfinished. The overall experience was bittersweet

From start to finish, we had a great experience. The weekly meetings made us feel a part of the building process, We were able to make custom designs to our home to really make it feel like ours and not just another cookie cutter builder design.

While we love our home and its location, our experience building with Drees was horrible. From the salesperson lying to us about the lots that were sold, to our project manager who did not follow through on most things, we have spent several hours, days and nights trying to get Drees to follow through on outstanding items in our home. Our 60 day list had over a hundred items that need addressed. I'm hopeful they follow through.

Very happy with my new home and the buying process. Would definitely build with Drees again in the future.

No body care about any issues .

Drees has been great to work with on all fronts. I have had some issues with their contractors lack of attention to detail. But Drees is taking care of most of them.

Buyer be ware. If you build with this company, you may need to hire an attorney.

Drees makes a good home and they have some beautiful designs and layouts. Those are the only good things I can say. Their communication, professionalism, and accountability are all 1 out of 10 (unless zero is an option). They don't adhere to any sort of schedule. When they miss dates they don't communicate the reasons why unless they're asked multiple times. They showed time and time again that they didn't care how stressful the home building process is for the customer. I would recommend any potential buyer avoid Drees at all costs. Their business practices rob the customer of any excitement and their lack of communication and accountability leave you feeling helpless and hopeless. Waiting for 3 months for a repair to squeaky subfloor in upstairs hallway.

Great home and great service to resolve issues

It was very easy to go in, sign and get a preapproval, but after that is where it gets interesting: - Market Manager quiets responding to texts and emails. - Mortgage officer leaves First Equity Mortgage and does not tell the borrowers. No email returns, no VM messages, nothing! Found out 2 months before closing that Mortgage Lender left. Had to reapply and start the process all over. - First Builder was awesome. Very forthcoming and attentive. Second Builder after first Builder quiet is overwhelmed and non responsive sometimes. Very down to earth though. - Closing date was implied multiple times without correction, but turned out to be severalweeks later. It was thrown off as a covid related issue. Home building is stressful. Drees took as much stress as possible away. Building supervisor answered all our questions. Sales never made us feel bad about our questions, was there when we needed him and gave reassurance we made the right decisions.

Stay on top of everything or you don’t know what you will get. I felt like I was the project manager.

We are so disappointed with the quality of our Drees “custom home.” The interior finishes are awful and we will be spending time and money trying to fix them. Trim throughout was so sloppily installed, it looks like a bad DIY…nearly every floor trim joint is a lumpy, caulked mess. The “professional” painters left paint splatters on the floor along the molding as well as many missed areas of paint, paint splatters on granite, paint on switch plates and outlet covers, paint on ceilings, and interior doors as well as paint embedded in the joints of several floor planks. Overall, just a big mess. Our outdoor light switch was covered over by insulation. Floor boards were undercut in several places, filled with caulk and called good. Cabinets have numerous chips, crack in door and most of the soft close features don’t work. Every toilet paper holder was misdrilled and the extra hole just left - not filled and painted. Many of the exterior trim boards are defective and the paint job is awful. Lots os missed caulking. Our outside post lamp has had issues since our early August move in and still no repair. In general, the floor plan and lot is beautiful, but we definitely did not get good value for our money and we would definitely seek out another builder. We have built two homes with other builders over the years and this by far is the worst quality, yet we paid for a high end house where are other houses were more entry level. ... More

The sales experience was really really bad. If you can make it past that, and work with the delivery team-- you will be okay. We actually started to consider ending our build because the team was so non responsive and rude. I actually had to email the lady and ask her to please be kind in working with us. Now, once we got to delivery... it was better... Tom was amazing to work with. He did a wonderful job and was EXTREMELY responsive. We do love our home and Tom ensured the quality of the home was the best. That's why I gave it a 5 star. Unfortunately the sales team broke our trust upfront and was overall not responsive to emails, or concerns. They didn't know the product well enough to be helpful and caused a lot of confusion and mis-information. ... More

With me being a realtor I have experienced a lot in the real estate world. I must say the entire team has been amazing with all the important things that matter. All houses sometime have issues regardless of the builder. However I had a major issue to happen but everyone got on top of the situation very quickly and repaired everything. I did not even have to call the warranty company to deal with third parties. The entire team did everything and very quickly. This meant everything to me because some builders do not make any repairs once things happen. Also they went above and beyond to also give me a 60 day follow up which is not normal in the new construction world. I would rate my overall experience with Drees as a 10. The reason for this rating is due to the professionalism, openness and genuine experience I have/had with everyone I have come in contact with. As a homeowner purchasing your first home and building it from the ground up, can be overwhelming on all fronts. As a builder, Drees truly made it less daunting and provide experience, knowledge and wisdom to overcome some issues and ensure we stayed on target for closing. The reason for the two four stars is due to follow through and details. As one who is detail orient it is hard to overlook some of the simple details that went undone and had to be redone or fixed. One might say that is a reflection on Drees because of the contractors they use, but I say it is the contractor as well. Drees could hire the best contractors out there, but they can't control who the contractor sends into your home (mine you they are not just contracted to your home especially when they are new builds) to do the work. They have been very attentive about making sure they come back out and make the corrections. With that, value is based on quality and workmanship. I love my Drees homes.
